Jazko Exclusive

Can you imagine seeing Pedro Pascal and MBJ entering the Borderlands😭😭

PJ Rivera

Bruh what is with these asian shows trying to soft pitch an american spin off? Squid games did it and soon we’ll have American squid games directed by David Fincher

Anon7524

What's up with Netflix and LA spinoffs to foreign shows, at this point it feels more expected than anything else

maseken

It’s cuz netflix wants more money lol but the fundamentally don’t understand american spin offs of asian show rarely ever are good

maseken

All in all I enjoyed this season, and the cameos in the last ep honestly got me a tad emotional. They didn’t NEED this season but that just like how the manga didn’t need the sequel spin offs, but I do like that I get to see that all these characters have a somewhat happy ending

Asher Ealey

Plot twist: Rei was on the animation crew for the Csm movie

Asher Ealey

I was actually feeling somewhat decent about the the ending prior to California. But the them panning to the U.S pissed me tf off 😂

Asher Ealey

What was so annoying to me about this season is that they had an entire spin off story that complemented the main one. But decided to do something completely random. In S3, all of them willingly enter after being recruited. Arisu follows because he wants to go save his wife and child. In the manga it’s JUST HIM. He almost dies trying to save people irl. Then ends up in the borderlands. So the entire time he is trying to GET BACK to his family in the real world. As a result we see a more desperate Arisu and an overall interesting plot with an amazing game. I’m not saying they should’ve adapted that 1:1 but at least try to follow the source to some extent

soulkiller

netflix seriously needs to stop with these funky ass american spin-offs of their successful korean and japanese shows. nobody asked for them besides those greedy higher ups

J Man

Fun note, Chishiya's actor was the voice actor for "Bang" guy in Inuyashiki

Vinny Deluca

I was expecting the season to still take place within the original games. Kinda like the Queen of Hearts one they just have their memories "wiped" and get tricked into thinking they made it out when they are still in the final Joker game, and they need to realize that. figure out what's going on. Think that would have been much more relevant and compelling

Mist

I think the point of season 3 is to answer the massive cliffhanger on season 2, instead of leaving the ending of S2 open-ended, they decided to conclude the Joker saga. What felt unnecessary is them leaving an open-room for possible spin-off from overseas.

Victor

Using the jacket won't work because even if you throw it, you have 50/50 chance of either pulling it nearer toward you or just knocking it away. Hers is a track jacket too, so it does not have the weight or grip to pull the wristband back in just 10 seconds. Roshi keeps dying in the game in the most random ways ever, first the escalator in Kick the Can, and now this.

Inconspicuous Pug

Damn Alice in Borderlands really just copied Squid Games with the whole baby and American spin off

Victor

I think a western version of Alice in Borderland can work. The whole idea of this is the world between life and death where people play games to survive and get back. The director won't have to make the police and government incompetent for the sake of not finding the venue of the game for multiple seasons like Squid Game. Besides, each season does not even have to relate to each other, just make them like American Horror Story. They can make a season where multiple people win, a season where just one person wins, or they can all die and nobody wins, or they can even play from the perspectives of dealers where they set up and enjoy or take part in the games. Not having a lead mc can stop also people from thinking certain characters would survive no matters what and make the series more fun and unpredictable. All I want to say is, unlike Squid Game, a spinoff series of Alice in Borderland could work, and it just depends on how they execute it.

Delilah Heldt

They just do a worldwide version where each episode is shows a different region 😂 you wouldn't get much story out of that unless the stories converge somehow at the end. From what I've seen there is other source material they could pull from though.

Jay

it was def the weakest season but not bad 7.5/10. I do want the us version only cause I love the concept. N I want arisu and usagi to have there happy ending. So I get the best of both worlds

Joseph

that was the first thing they uploaded, sir

ShaoDragon

Naaah we don't need a western one

zzzuzi_the_hedgehog

In season 2 Usagi seamed like she didn't have will to live without her dad cause she was so depressed and didn't have answers. She survived only to help Arisu to survive. It's natural that she was desperate to receive closure. Was it stupid? Yes. But it's also human nature. Specially if you have gone through so much. I am happy to have that she has her answers now. And ask watchman said joker is just a card just one day in your life and only you choose to live despite the pain or go to the path of death. You make that choice everyday. So you can play a joker card everyday and only you are who choose what card to be used today. I think third season a little bit more philosophical and deep than season 1 and 2.

Ahridva

United State need to leave AIB alone T_T

Hanno

As much as I hate the US spinoff teaser, its not as bad as the Squid Game one

Juan G.

Season 2 was PEAK with the face cards, especially the king of spades game. I agree with Sheera if they wanted to continue season 3 should have been all new characters with maybe some cameos in 1st or last episode to see how original characters were doing. Instead we got this WEAK AF garbage 🤦‍♂️

Neji Hyuga

They’re both equally as bad and cash grabs

Hanno

I'm talking about the actual scenes not the spinoff ideas

cornett0

squid game had more of a plot I would say but this one was grasping for straws.

XORA NICO

I thought I was alone in this but I’m glad to know yall feel the same.

Ayanda Mpofu

Ur words are my exact thoughts. Still liked ur reactions though.

Uly A O

I would preferred if they kept to the original epilogue story with Arisu and made it like a movie. And even though you know it’s just him having to make it back, it would be a lot better tbh. Could have made him even a little more cut throat with it too. Their discussion about putting the end of this ep to end of season too kinda actually happened in the manga where they did interview people about the meaning the of life but it ended with Arisu getting interview but like random reporters.

Happy to be here

Imma say something countrist, Ameicans don't have the range to make such a show work. There has been great TV from the US for sure, but their TV writers seem to excel more at navel-gazing human drama. Any show that requires rigor and precision planning gets eye-roll worthy after a while because unfortunately both creators and audience are still on the premise that it's all about shock and awe. People wonder why shows "fall off" and I'm like -_-

Jalan

Please watch Chief of War after this or See both are peak Apple TV shows

maseken

ALSO, was not expecting fucking Ken Watanabe to show up lol

Happy to be here

I didn't mind this season, while I thought the Usagi portion was a little of a slide back after her finally regaining the will to live in season 2, grief and depression don't bless us with linear recovery. The beginning of the season, it looks like she basically has nothing going in her life outside of her relationship with Arisu, so holding a secret from him explains her being vulnerable to Doctor Creep. I also don't think entertainment has to be necessary, just enjoyable. I looked at this season like an OVA. Now, the "everywhere that unmelanated people live can be the backdrop of Borderland" set up was tragedy to a level that would make the ancient greeks weep. Instead of tainting the last minutes of the show with that nonsense, they could have just released a promo on youtube, what the hell was that nothing conversation. That dialogue has me imagining some poor intrern at Netflix Japan who is the token english speaker and was made to write shit them yankees would yap about *shrug*.

vesra

Honestly this whole season was fun but unecessary. I didn’t even know it was a thing until I saw it on the schedule. Some of the games were interesting. The introduction of whatever entity The Watchman is was…a choice. Season 2 should have been the end but season 3 was a nice little watch.

KingDom

Longest 2 seconds of my life btw. The amount of slow moments/pause moments is hurting me. These people aren’t the flash why isn’t timing working for them😂

Parlay miles

When yall put this on youtube , make sure you put the flush sound when ryuji goes down the drain lol thanks

godkangseulgi

Ugh, I agree. I love and treasure AIB with all my heart but literally had to watch the last two episodes on 1.25x or 1.5x speed cuz it was literally dragging out & I was just so ready to jump onto the Reddit discussions lmfao

Alex Omega

They should have stopped at Season 2, just like Squid Game should have stopped at Season 1.

Anon7524

Great watch, because at 1:10:40 you can start to see their faces shift in real time reaction to another fucking LA setup of a Netflix show

Happy to be here

Oh, well excuse my ignorance, please give me a list of said works, I’d love to watch them. Also I was specifically referring to to shows but I’d like the Rex all the same :)

naomi

as an american please for the love of god they need to stop americanizing shit. its literally just money grabbing atp

Frederick

My worst fear was realized. We didn’t need this season. The season was okay but unnecessary. I agree we don’t need an American version of this show. PLEASE NETFLIX DON’T DO IT

dragonH

no way they pulled a squid game spin off threat, whyyy LMAO

Vivan

35:39 This is the shit people were experiencing in shibuya when Sukuna and Mahoraga were fighting

sora

I’m so glad we got to see chifuyububu.

Riceopener

I think a lot of what happens in the show that seems beyond human capabilities like the vortex scene. Could be explained by none of it being real. Its in borderland where a laser comes from the sky to kill you if you loose or run out of time, and they kinda just come out thin air from any location including inside buildings. Its more like a dream sequence then reality. At least how I view it.

212

this final season was just a "how long can we drag this bs for?" 🤔

girlygirl9983

They should've put the Season 3 plot and games before Season 2, I don't want a United States version of Squid Game or Alice in Borderland, maybe a different country or culture that doesn't speak English would be more interesting for me for a remake

Rabadan422

They both became orphans together and the sister was very young it’s pretty obvious the brother took up the role as her father being the one to walk her down the aisle and hand her off to her next family etc.

Moonestmoi

The way some comments made it seem, I thought there was a dozen Korean/Japanese shows getting an American spinoff, but y’all are just talking about two shows? This and squid games?

Virtual TimeLine

I also really dislike the idea of an American spinoff. With this and Squid games, you just know it is all about the money and milking the series until the end instead of actually making a good series.

Nita - Kento's Widow

Roshi saw my comment on 03×04, I just can't prove it... Needless to say I agree with the sentiment but I do give it a 6-7/10?? I enjoyed seeing Arisu and Usagi again, their happy ending, and seeing the characters from season 1 bumped it up for me. Btw neither of them should remember as per canon but this season did make some changes to lore (ex. Ann) That said, leave these characters alone!! Close this chapter. And Netflix can move with that US show mess, that teaser ending was kinda corny to me 💀

Jordan Postle

Yeah I'm not interested in seeing an American woman who is a waitress go through these games with Ichigo or Natsu ass level plot armor.

Hunter

yeah this season was something else, I kept expecting some grand explanation, but nothing like that came. It was just corny plotline after corny plotline...

Sunwoo's Wife: Destiny

i must be the only person who enjoyed this season alot, although there were a few plotholes and questions unanswered i enjoyed the games and just like the previous seasons they kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Hunter

I liked the games too only it felt like there was no point in playing at all

Mathia Chalu

Am I the only one who sees similarities between this show and sword art online? A group of people who find themselves catapulted into another world in life-and-death challenges, the protagonist (Arisu/Kirito) who, with the help of his friends, manages to bring everyone back, and who later returns to that world to save his girlfriend (Usagi/Asuna) trapped there again for some reason. Very gripping first part of the series(1st and 2nd AIB/Aincrad) and unnecessary last part(3rd AIB/Alfheim)

Nita - Kento's Widow

It's just going be as silly as how they're pushing the American Squid Games; it's going to feel so forced. 😭

HrlIEJB

i don’t think they’re really hinting at an american spinoff i think it was just to 1. show that the borderlands wasn’t exclusive to them and 2. kind of pay homage the the fact the show is based off alice in wonderland and obviously the go to for a name like that would be america

Sam Cam

There is legit was zero point in playing the games I wish they kidnapped his wife and forced her into the game making him go in and re play that woulda been so much better.

Baren Nerab

honestly the games were cool, but if this was a movie with all the old characters day to day and just dealing with the trauma, it would be cool too. Seeing all of them again was a great surprise.

Fizzy 🐉

That when the show went downhill cause she already dealt with the trauma with her father in the last 2 season it was a weak plot point to make a another season just pure greed and no sense

ElectriczZ

No Arisu 🙂‍↔️ 🙅 Alice 😃👍

Fizzy 🐉

We didn’t need this season but I throughly enjoyed it wayyyyy more than squid game last season

SonOfMan

Tbf unlike squid game the manga actually had Arisu going to the Borderlands but for entirely different reasons. This was just an ass adaptation lmao

OnceUponABowl

they are not making another one they confirmed that already they just wanted to show it happening everywhere lol

Hunter

Yesss that would’ve been sick and in the end it turns out she was behind it all for some fd up reason like she wanted them to feel closer idk just a BIG plotwist would’ve been nice 🥲

MBA

I feel like them not having 8 episodes kinda hoed 3rd seasons story, it had potential but felt a bit rushed. Was still enjoyable to see everybody again tho

Lily Rose

if they did a korean based stranger things spin off you’d be so for it, but america doing a spin off of something japanese? oh no no no we can’t have that

Candy

Gyeongseong Creature is only show to replace this ✅

meguminis.

Have you seen how they did Godzilla, Dragon Ball, Avatar (which is actually western) and Death Note? We're good.

Lily Rose

if it’s already western.. why are you bringing it up, it doesn’t fit the scenario… and no one cares what you’re good on, you’re a nobody.. no offense

mina

ngl im only 40 mins in but this villian is just annoying. no interesting motive, cheating winners of the game, his whole role was just to be on dick. genuinely just that and nothing else

tori Wills

The US version might even be better than the Japanese version like they won't even give it a chance

PetersThimble

The writing for s3 was wack af. If they wanted to do this potline with Banda and the other characters they would have made that more apparent in s1 or 2. Bc as of right now - it reads as incoherent and also out of no where. But s3 is not aligned with the manga so its whatever ig. They could have kept this adaptation but it was fun watching with yall

PetersThimble

The entire plotline with the professor felt unbaked as hell. Like it's clear they wanted to do a jealousy thing with Usagi where he's in love with her and that's not reciprocated, but they have this strong bond between them, though they def needed more time on it bc it literally came out of nowhere. Like i didnt even really believe USagi in the last episode when she was defending him in front of Arisu bc maam that's literally your husband and the professor is a whole stranger.

Berts Tv

They also do it with movies

meguminis.

LOL I guess I'm a nobody just like you. And saying no offense after being offensive makes you a lame. If you want it, great. But we've seen this time and time again.

A. P.

This "If you add up all the cards its 364, add the joker and it's 365 the same number of days in a year, the other joker equals 366, three 6 is saying three sixes which is 666 — the mark of the beast, three six mafia released Hypnotize Minds in the year 2000, right after Y2K. You ever wondered what was happening in Japan in the year leading up to September 11th 2001? Let's count the number of triangles on the Joker card" — ahh plot when they sat at the table lol

SlackyTv

But there is a Spinoff called like Alice in Border Road

Arz.09

She screaming ryuji like he didn’t try to kill her and her baby and essentially her man too cus he easily could of died coming to save her

RobNoTabi

I got my closure white hair dude is alive, my favorite character in this shows besides Arisu. Does it muddy S1 & S2's steaks a little. Yeah, but the emotion in this moment is just happy him and those dope characters are alive. Overall: did we need this No, im just glad the characters Arisu and Usagi are alive.

Garrett

The fact no one else seemed to know this makes me sad

Alex M

I think the point with his character is that he still felt guilty for not dying alongside his student, and Usagi reminded him of her. Basically he wanted to find someone else to die with

Xemnas27

Just watched this show and overall it was good but yeah this season was buns. S2 was the real finale, this is just a greedy cash grab and that American version hell naw lol. Squid Games all over again 🥀

Xuda Art

I think this season started of pretty interesting, but sort of lost it's way a bit towards the end. Still enjoyed it though. But obviously the canonical ending is season 2, which just makes a lot more sense than this, so imma stick with that as my end, and this season can just be a fun AU. I think my only big issue with this season is how it contextualises the Borderlands. Like the end of season 2 solidifies the borderlands not as a malicious place necessarily, but the manifestation of those in limbo struggling to survive and return to the land of the living. Whereas this season makes the Borderlands a sentient place that actively seeks out poor souls to torture in these games. That's my main issue, otherwise I still enjoyed watching it. But season 2 is definitely my canon finale
