Idk to me Sully throughout the whole show has showed many times he does things for his own reasons. Its hard to know what Sully will do or why he does what he does. Another angle to look at it is with the Bobby Raikes situation. When Dushane was confronted with the choice to get rid of Sully because of the problems he brings he still chooses to save him while Jamie was willing to get rid of Kit instead of Dushane. Jamie was always in a losing position with how deeply he cared for his brothers, only correct answer that would've kept him safe is abandoning them sadly. It be a consistent theme in this series too those with attachments usually get dragged down because of them

Sully never really changes, all these spouts of what we believe are character development are just a smokescreens that clouds our judgement, to make us forget that he's a Grade A Demon. The worst traits about Sully is that he deeps everything, is always impulsive, always envious, almost like he's like Walter White with no redeeming qualities. I think Sully ultimately killed Jaime not because of the assassination attempt or the subterfuge in Spain, i think he killed Jaime cause of jealousy more than anything.

For me personally, the writing has officially fallen off with that ending. I havent watched the rest but it quite literally makes no sense for Sully to have done that narratively when they explicitly made so many nods to Sully leaving and wanting to be done since last season. The writers really jumped the shark with that and I personally just don't see how they could come back from it. People are gonna reply with their theories justifying Sully but again: WITHIN THE NARRATIVE of the show: We are implicitly/expliclity shown over and over how tired Sully is of this gang shit and then he does something like this. It's incongruent when the literal visuals are showing something else - genuinely feels like just bad writing

I agree the Sully character is incoherent however his motivation to kill Jaime has never changed at any point. If anything the Spain situation further proved his point that Jaime could not be trusted. But the timing of him killing Jaime it was awkward because the rest of Sully’s storyline implies heavily that he’s over that stuff and is ready to move on. They did it for shock value and to build audience support for another season renewal. A lot of shows try to end with big deaths now for that reason. Technically it would have made more sense for Sully to have done it in Spain when he killed that cop.

Jamie killing Kit showed that he valued his brothers more than literally anything else. Dushane understands that so he let Jamie off the hook for trying to backdoor him in Spain because he knew exactly how to control him. As long as his brothers are in Summerhouse Jamie would've probably never tried that shit every again. It almost got him and them killed multiple times. Plus he saw how him being absent was fucking up their lives. I strongly believe Jamie wouldve been on a tight leash after that stuff with Stef. His ambitions literally got him nowhere. They've been ops since S1 but Dushane keeps trying to convince Sully they're equals and friends every season when Dushane was always on top and makes a big point of showing it each season. For "Sully is petty a bitch, Jamie already proved his loyalty", yeah he proved his loyalty to DUSHANE only, which is an insult to Sully since he wants to be equals not under him. I was just about to say that I've grown to like Sully more compared to early seasons, and then he goes to do more fuckshit....I kinda get WHY (I guess) but I still don't fuck with it And I enjoyed Curtis as a villain. I hope his sister doesn't try to pull up cause it's not gonna be the same. She's just that grumpy cat who likes to knock shit off shelves and look at you like "Whutchu gon do?" lol

RIP Jaimie, he was an opportunist, Sully knew he couldn't be trusted. He killed his best friend, and one thing about Sully and Dushane, no matter how many times they get into it, they both have each other's backs through thick and thin. Sully made his decision back in Spain, but his killing of Kilt was the confirmation to get rid of a problem before it becomes a problem.

Jaime killing Kit wasn't at all being an opportunist tho I can see why sully, not seeing the whole thing like us the audience would come to that conclusion. Rather that act was survival not just for himself but for his bros. The Ultimatum was clear He Kills kit or he dies. You can actually see that Jaime was really gonna leave with Kit until his brethren started makin a fuss and thus he truly saw how damaged his fam had become and the talk with Aaron was the last straw that broke the camels back and made him change his mind on going with kit and living on the run. For his family's proverbial survival he had to make the hard choice. But to oversimplify that and dub simply as an opportunistic move is lacking context. But if your analysis is simply Sully would've thought that, then I agree and actually like that take over what the show told us of him just being a Dumbass Crashout.

I think it's ironic that Sully had to kill his friend, Dris and Jamie had to kill his friend, Kit. But Dushane could have saved himself so many problems if he just turned Sully in back in season 1, but didn't because he didn't want to betray his friend.

I started to really hate Sully after that last scene. But when I finished the first season of Summerhouse, it all made sense to me. Sully was always this unreasonably ruthless and violent. He just finally regressed, no thanks to Pebbles.
