this def the turning point for Anya and Damian's relationship. Their moment while waiting for their parents was so cute: the first time Damian genuinely apologized and complimented her, and the first time Anya gassed him up with no gag attached to it. I also think Damian telling her "even if you get close to me, it doesn't mean you'll get close to my parents" is really important. It really did feel like their first genuine conversation. And Loid rushing back to the scene as an SSS agent was so adorable to me. No more "for the mission" talk, that is YOUR daughter SIR.

The way I see it. Melinda does genuinely really love Damian. But she’s either deeply afraid or hateful of her husband. So she can show deep love for him as a mother, such as her cooking food for him. But Damian’s constant need for approval from her husband and dad just makes her see Damian as more like him or her to connect Damian with his dad, which breaks her in the moment
