Nah the shorter the chains are, the more straight the totem poles will be so less weight. *Spoiler* Mongolia uses this strat in their turn. It looked like she wasnt struggling much where as Ming-jae was dying lol

Sure shorter chains is also a factor but the weight is more displaced on the top and the pull towards the lower parts puts the strain on your shoulders. If u had the chains even higher let's say at neck level it would be easier. That's why the big/tall dudes should be dominating over the smaller person
