Idk who told you the German dub is in English but they were incorrect, what they did instead is something I find more interesting which is for the Zenmian speakers (Caleb, Trent, Astrid etc.) they use an older form of German with a different dialect. So for them it sounds like old timey English would sound to us, like “thou art” type shit

In the English - Zemnian is equal to older form of German. In the German dub - Zemnian was changed into it's own language - where they changed specific sounds - it's similar to how pig latin is just English but with the first sound moved to the end of the word and "ay" is added.

Man, I am loving the little changes being made to connect things more for the show. Don't get me wrong, I've been watching CR since a third of the way through campaign 1 and it's my favourite shit ever, but this is perfect and so good for a new audience to get into imo. So glad you guys love VM and this !

"Too many ops" could be the title of the whole campaign honestly lmao. I'm very pleased that we finally got a whole episode with Frumpkin(Caleb's cat) around. Also quite pleased that Pumat Sol was here, as he is one of my favorite NPCs across all of the campaigns Critical Role has done. I'm really enjoying the emphasis on how broken all of these people are, and they're doing a great job of showing how different that looks for each of them. I'm also glad they're getting more into Jester's early game struggles, because as funny as she is she has some pretty hard hitting emotional moments throughout her character arc. Overall I have to say this has been an amazing season of TV and I have full faith they're going to absolutely stick the landing.

Not going to say anything about the Traveler because it really is a reveal (or a series of reveals, rather) you just gotta experience for yourself, but I will say the "stay near the Chateau" thing is unrelated to her magic, at least in terms of what powers it. Jester's mom is extremely agoraphobic is all.

They have a ridiculous number of opps, which is a fun break from the Big Bad Evil Guy setup. I've always liked that their (first, at least) threat was so much broader than them; something to be tackled in branches and stages. A whole war. I have other thoughts on the campaign's pacing, but y'know. Covid will do that to you.

I feel like i say this every episode but... i dont like the path they are taking and it honestly is taking alot of what made Ikithon so terrifying and pissing it into the wind... in the series both the Empire and the Dynasty did some terrible shit but ultimately you came to realize that neither side was good or bad but just being puppeted by people from behing the scenes... now its making the empire out to be the pure evil bad guys... its cliche and nowhere near as complex as the original story that was told... if Japan can pull off complex moral stories with anime i dont see why we cant do that ourselves instead it just feels like they had to dumb down the whole plot for their audience...

Huh yeah they should really add a character from the dynasty side that does really horrible things, maybe even add in one thing that truly evil and serves no good purpose beyond just protecting themselves. They should also make sure the leadership of the dynasty is willing to throw away lives at the problem instead of pursuing diplomatic solutions. Would also help that said dynasty performed ritualistic sacrifices and were so deep rooted in their own religion and beliefs they are unwilling to look for ways to save people who’ve lived too many lives.

Ok, so I was rewatching all the Nott scenes, and I have a theory. What if Nott was somehow cursed or transfigured or something into a Goblin? In the first few eps, Nott has scenes looking into reflections and hating what she sees, and in a world where we have tieflings, orcs, half-orcs, etc., it was an interesting reaction, since everyone has that reaction towards Goblins. And maybe anytime she's sober, she is constantly reminded about it, so she drinks to not think about what she was turned into, which may be a punishment of some kind. PLUS, she has a super fixation on MAGIC, and the way she was ready to give Caleb spell components and was excited in a way of like "oh, maybe he can undo whatever was done to me." got me thinking, and in THIS episode, she busted out the Goblin stereotypes. But the way she said those stereotypes felt like she was forced to live this way because of whatever happened before, and just embraced what she knew about Goblins, whether true or false. She doesn't sound like she believes it, and it doesn't sound like it's coming from a place of "I was born a goblin...comes with the territory" vibe. And even told Jester, "you all made me forget that I was THIS," instead of "...forget that I was a Goblin," and maybe I'm reading too into it, but the wording right there seemed very specific. ALSO, we might circle back to her past, and maybe that's when we find out if it's a curse or not, but it feels like a curse situation to me. TL;DR: Theory - I think Nott might be Cursed/Transfigured/Spelled I consume a LOT of magic and fantasy media, and there are some tropes I'm seeing, but I could be 1,000,000,000% wrong, but it just makes sense to me right now XD

Side note, Vox Machina s2 Ep8, when Garmelie turns into a humanoid being and says "Safe TRAVELS friends," and introduces himself as a "Wanderer who enjoys entertainment" and loves drawing dicks I knew he had to be real because he had those 2 things above his eyes, but no hood in VM. So maybe it's not that Jester can't see him, it might be he's just fucked off somewhere else, and what if he lied to her, saying he was a god to take advantage of her innocent nature? NOT ME WRITING A THINK PIECE! XD I'm so sorry, this show is just so good lols

I love that they still incorporated the scene from the campaign of when Jester and Nott trashed the temple. I'm also glad they kept Pumat Sol in this. I'm really enjoying the differences between the campaign and actual series so far.

Essek never leanred his mom overheard the conversation between him and Verrat. So when his mom said to return the beacon, he probably assumed that it was Verrat that told her about what happened and that's what prompted her to reveal her sickness to the queen. So yeah, killing his mom definitely put him crashout mode, but it's likely he also specifically wanted Verrat to suffer as a consequence.

i love the way they are showing Essek in here from what Matthew Mercer who played Essek in the campaign couldnt show who also plays him in the Might Nein as well, he stated he is a very complex character, and all we are seeing is stuff he kept in the back of his head that he wasnt able to show fully in the campaign. Its nice to actually see more of him.

What part are you missing? The empire in entirety is not being painted as evil it is specific individuals with too much power who are. You have a weak king being influenced by a cabal of wizards with their own machinations, that's not the entire empire.
