Wanda was Barbie's friend (Barbie from season 1) in the comics. They completely cut out Barbie's arc (because there's basically no Morpheus) but kept Wanda's character and put her in the role of a character that dies almost immediately but still giving her an extended send off like she's a character we really got to know. Btw In the bonus episode of season 1, Dream's Ex wife Calliope is expanded upon. She's one of the Muses so she's the daughter of Zeus and a minor goddess of inspiration. She's also a lot more chill than Morpheus and the bonus episode is where Orpheus Is first mentioned

Adaptation did Orpheus so dirty here. In the comics, Hades smiles as Orpheus leaves and Orpheus walks for months in the underworld trying to figure out if Hades' smile means he's been tricked, without looking back or hearing any evidence Eurydice is following him. By the time he reaches light, he's convinced Hades tricked him and turns around, possibly to go back and find Eurydice, only to discover it wasn't a trick and she WAS behind him the whole time. Way more tragic than the way the show adapted it.

Hot Take Orpheus is nearly as problematic as Diddy. Part of the reason it didn't work was because *Supernatural* had already been out for several years and had mined a lot of *Hellblazer* story arcs. Cas wears the brown coat as a nod to Constantine. Anyway, back on subject: one of the most unforgivable things that show committed was killing that version of Death and replacing him with Billie.

In this particular instance I don't even think Dream is at fault here tbh. He gave Orpheus a warning and his son's selfishness fucked it all up anyway. Dream has his problems but this one was entirely Orpheus'. Well that's how the myth plays out anyway so this outcome is an expected one.

This is why she can check Destiny. He cannot predict her, because she exists beyond his foresight. That is why she tells him there are paths outside Destiny’s garden, paths he does not even know exist. Though she is the youngest of the Endless, she is still one of the strongest. In the comics, she is essentially the wild card. When everything is going to ruin, the response becomes, let’s roll the dice on Delirium. She might fix everything, or she might make it infinitely worse.

People have different beliefs about what it is to honor the dead, I wouldn't really call any of them insane (for the most part). A funeral is a way to honor your loved one who's no longer with you, but also and I think primarily a chance for the family and friends of the deceased to mourn/grieve together and be able to physically/tangibly say goodbye. Personally, I don't care what's done at my funeral or to my body once I'm gone, I'm out this mf y'all do whatever y'all want or need to do.

it's for both imo. like, if i die, then i'm dead, and my family and friends are the ones benefitting from a final goodbye at my funeral. but people who wouldn't honour me as i was when alive (like Wanda's family) wouldn't be welcome, and my true friends and family would know and honour that. Wanda's funeral could have been a beautiful last moment between them, but her stupid-ass family abused that moment to correct what wasn't broken, thereby even further breaking the fragile bonds that remained between them and their child
