Jacob Livingston

Man let’s fucking go!!! Happy new year yall!!!

Jamaal Ellison

Fuck I'm so behind I'm still on episode 3.😭

Jamaal Ellison

Requesting For All Mankind on Apple TV In an alternate timeline in 1969, Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov becomes the first human to land on the Moon. This outcome devastates morale at NASA but also catalyzes a U.S. effort to catch up. With the Soviet Union emphasizing equality by including a woman in subsequent landings, the United States is forced to match pace, equally training women and ethnic minorities (who historically were largely excluded from the initial decades of U.S. space exploration). Pushed by higher competition, the Soviet and other blocs favor more competent leaders, modernizing earlier and on more rational ground. With sustained investments in technology, a broad, sustained, and global technological race takes place, with a wide range of dramatic civilian effects, such as early civil rights, electric vehicles, civilian fusion power, controlled CO2 production, and no climate crisis. Each subsequent season takes place about a decade later, with season two taking place in the 1980s, season three taking place in the 1990s, and season four taking place in the 2000s. Ronald D. Moore explained how historical reality had been different from the series: "Sergei Korolev was the father of the Soviet space program; in our reality, he died during an operation in Moscow (in 1966) ... And after that point, their Moon program really never pulled together.... Our point of divergence was that Korolev lives, ... and he made their Moon landing happen."[8]

PJ Rivera

Man they really slowed the hell down in season 2, its still good but its something to keep in mind they really focus less on the story and more on the characters

Ernie

The twist was done so well, nobody predicted it, and it made me think of Fallout instantly.

Deshawn Smith

demon slayer movie is out in the wild yall, if anyone didnt get a chance to see it

Robert Boykins

Star city spin-off Next year I believe

PJ Rivera

Oh it is but its very different from season 1’s tone its a bit of whiplash

Zigon Reacts

Finally the Tape they keep mentioning gets revealed how important it is and why they didn't want anyone knowing about it. Its crazy to think how many people they have been executing to make people think there was no way to explore outside. Can't wait for season 2!!

Imari

I disagree lol

illnamethechannellater653

I think the tape from IT is compromised. They kinda hinted on it when they said they didn't know why the mayor is mad at the MC for stealing IT tape cause the tape in mechanical is better anyway.

Xti

those werent other silos lmao. those were craters from where bombs dropped lol

Ben Ben Tennyson

The IT tape is actually worse than the tape they use down deep! Walker switched the tape they used for Juliette to the down deep tape because when Juliette stole that IT tape she learned that it was booty cheeks and didn’t work as good as the tape they ran out of

RF

It's about control. The point is that they want a population that is docile and controllable and will just go with whatever the government of the Silo tells them and doesn't question anything. One way or another, people who do get weeded out. Even if they were straight about what it was like outside and didn't do any of the VR bullshit, people would just pushback on other things. The government of the Silo are allowing some form of pushback and rebellion but only in ways that shouldn't actually affect them. So the people who just accept everything they are told don't question anything and are allowed to have families and all that. And the ones who don't eventually end up killing themselves in ways that makes the people are already questioning the gov to just head down a rabbit hole that will make them end up the same way. Like an electric fly trap.

jahara daughtry

Soo basically Roshi you’re right. The air is poisonous outside and switching the tape is what actually saved Juliet (for anyone confused). Walker sent a msg “we’re good in supply” because they switched out the tape and actually sealed the suit… which helped Juliet survive. The previous tape they were using for everyone else that went out to clean, was intentionally shitty tape so that the air would kill them.

Dark Shogun

Bernard did NOT turn off the fake vision on the display. Jules went past the border where it work.

Matthew Whitley

wanted to point out one thing though that the tape they have in mechanical is better than the tape in IT, The IT tape is the tape they used to send people outside which is why the poison air gets inside. That's why Bernard didn't want that tape being stolen. The lady from mechanical figured it out so she made sure the tape from mechanical was the tape used on the suit.

terrakion.is.good

For all mankind falls off so hard, but season 1 and 2 are so elite it is definitely worth watching the rest of the hot mid.

Jamaal Ellison

Mid compared to what? Every season gets better and the escalation of stakes raises each decade.

A. P.

I hate when people in movies/ shows single strap the backpack while trying to get away ts is so anxiety inducing

Sam

They're other silos.

Darrell Johnson

Yes. IT sabotaged their tape to keep people from reaching the ridge and seeing the other silos before they died.

DemonKing626

Yooooo, what if the founders made the fake greenery and "accidently" sent out the fake greenery to people to make them curious enough to go outside, They make you think that you want to go outside and somewhere along the way they might have forgotten that that was the purpose because over a period of time they probably thought that their would be no reason for that anymore due to years(100s probably) of being stuck inside. So as to test to see if people can go outside, which is why they probably give out unsealed suits to people who do go outside, and probably why they don't stop anyone from WANTING to go outside, mmmmmm. Either way from the first season alone this concept is wild, and if I had to choose being alive and stuck in a silo or dying outside, I would choose outside out of my fear of being underground and the feeling of claustrophobia. But I need to see the next season now.

Zanni

Sims didn't know what was going on. That's why he said, "She knows what?" Bernard low key scares me more than Sims now lmao. He gives psychopath. Even in his speech and ways of thinking.

Zanni

True, but it reallyyy picked up as the season went by I got so fcking hooked.

Sneaky

You can literally see the others have cameras and doors just like Silo 18, also thats not how craters work my man.

Candy

i swear they looked like other silos

Jacob Livingston

The air outside is actually poisonous. The specific tape she used made it so the air can’t get into her suit. The bs tape they usually use on the suits lets the poisonous air from outside inside the suit. The heat tape she got walk to swap out in supply is what saved her. And it seems to me sims doesn’t know what’s going on all the way, he looked confused and said “knows what” when Bernard said she knows.

Xti

so my thing is the silos are HUGE way to big to be right next to each other like that ( maybe im wrong) but u would also see dead bodies of the people who died when they would of got kicked out also. we know the green scenery is fake but that also means people would be dead from the main silo or the other ones if they were silos

blud

i want to confirm so many things yall said in this episode but ima just let yall find it out in s2

RedSunCrusher!!!

It's a leaked film It's not officially out yet they won't be watching it leaked

sol jam

Oh season 2 will flip your perspective upside down, people dislike season 2 first half because of the pacing but personally I didn't mind it and everyone agrees it picks up on the second half

girlygirl9983

I'm ready for SEASON 02 EPS 01 like today, i love the mystery of this Silo and outside world

Deshawn Smith

Idk, but Mugen Train was accidentally leaked while it was still in theaters, and they reacted to it that same day. Even if it was sony that leaked it, a leak is a leak 🤷🏽‍♂️ I don’t expect them to do it again, but I thought I’d let it be known.

Sekraan

It will probably be better binged. It was kind of painful week to week.

Gwyn

So early on they mention the pact forbids expansion of the Silo, no digging sideways. Now y'all know why. Can't have the lab rats interacting with each other. Also, pretty sure the 18 on Bernard's alarm/key fob is the number of this Silo, which is why the hard drive being 18 is huge for him too, that thing was like, from the founders and the drive for their silo.

jordany

Can’t wait for your reaction to S2. Don’t look at spoilers! It was fun rewatching with y’all and seeing your surprised reactions, makes it fun watching this again.

Halo S

The white gas in the airlock is Argon (as described at the start of the first book) for pressure balance in the airlock. The poison is in the air once they actually exit the Silo. Juliette's suit used a different tape than previous cleaners so the air did not immediately kill her.

entity

The air outside on the surface is poisonous. They purposely use shitty tape that doesn't secure the suit allowing that poisonous air in to inevitably kill whoever was sent out to clean. The gas in the vault is to decontaminate the opening because they don't want that air to flow into the silo. It's a safety measure that's why the exit has multiple airlock doors. This is not a spoiler…..if you don’t want the bad outside air coming inside you need measures for that this is something you can easily deduce…from watching the show……

A

Omg yes I kept dying when they were DRAGGING the water scene and the ep ending after everytime 😭

WackySwacky

Yes. Walk saved her life by getting Supply to swap the shitty tape for the good tape, so that her suit would actually be air tight.

WackySwacky

Bro I've watched the next season. It's other Silos lol.

Zigon Reacts

Umm.... First person is right the IT tape is trash, that's why the person "Walk" went to talk too said she didn't know why they wanted the tape back so bad because the one Walk makes is better. But we now know why they wanted Tape back so bad , was so nobody would know the difference in quality in the Tapes. The show was shoving it in our face and kept reminding us that the IT tape was Inferior.

Sam

If the IT tape was any good, nobody would have died. Juliette survived because "they're good in supply". Walk asked the lady in Supply to switch the tape for Juliette's suit i.e. It's tape, with mechanical's tape. They agreed because once again, they're good in supply.

Matt Rhinehart

This is a spoiler and will be explained next season. Delete your comment

Narcissistic Humility

I just watched season 2 for the first time and it is still kind of painful binging it. I definitely preferred season 1 quite substantially.

Narcissistic Humility

No, the first person is right. Re-watch the scene between Carla and Walks. Carla questions why Walks is concerned about IT's heat tape because Mechanical's is so much better. The whole point behind IT's poor tape is that they use it because the want people to die when they go outside. It reinforces the idea that outside is dangerous and staying in the silo is paramount.

Narcissistic Humility

It is about control but it's not merely so that they listen to the government within the Silo. The imperative idea is that they do not go outside. They prevent people from breeding if they are too curious or less prone to compliance because they need people who will not question things too much and will stay within the silo. Everything is actioned and prepared regarding this imperative ideal. The reason that they purposely use weak tape when cleaning is to reinforce the imperative ideal of staying within the silo.

Narcissistic Humility

Not only this. It's also because they want the people who go out to clean to die because it reinforces the idea that the world outside is unsafe and that they must stay within the silo.

Delinda Arts

I’m with you on that gassing shit Sheera. That gassing chamber alway made me rethink like “why tf they decontaminating them if they going out and never coming back in” they were definitely gassing them before going out.

Jamaal Ellison

Her American accent threw me off. I just realized Martha Walker is Caroline, the mom from Succession, Logan Roy's ex-wife.

entity

This isn’t a spoiler? And I know what you’re talking about it next season but this is unrelated.

Abdul-Mal

This show is interesting, because there's actually no villains so far😆. If anything Jules is the only villain !!!

Thomas

Since you guys said Apple TV has never steered you wrong with shows like Pluribus, Severance and now Silo. I recommend you guys watch “Foundation” on Apple TV. It’s one of the best sci-fi shows I’ve ever seen and I know you guys will love the story-telling, mystery and action from that show 👍🏻😊

entity

I’m confused. Are you watching the show with them? Aren’t most people watching film& tv show reactions to things they themselves have already seen?

Tbdovan

Folks in the comments dropping the hot spoiler explanation instead of letting first time watchers theorize and find out the truth later

TALK NO JUTSU

I thought it wasn't just the outside air

Stale Breast Milk

You guys misunderstood so much while confidently drawing conclusions 😭

DanE523

Yeah so I need you to finish the entirety of season two rn😭

PhaedrusRumple

The smoke before she left is simply a decontamination room

Drake Rage

10:31 *Tombstone reads* Juliette Nichols taken out by Fall Damage.

Slime SLAT

they definitely arent gassing them lol. outside is fucked up and unhabitable. those people are dying from radiation or some shit

Slime SLAT

bro do you see how outside looks? its probably radiation killing them.

Alexis Sullivan

Please watch more Apple TV in 2026. Apple really is the best platform in terms of consistent quality. You could do a poll on the next Apple show to watch: Foundation, Invasion, For All Mankind, The Morning Show, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Black Bird, Presumed Innocent, Defending Jacob, See

Jaren

Are you dumb😂you think people just rewatch tv shows just to see someone else reaction? Maybe thats why you are here but im sure most of us are here to experience the show WITH them.

entity

Most of the people commenting here have already seen it so yes and there’s people who have read the books. Dumbass. Why would your first experience of a show or film be someone else’s reaction to it?…….

Sam

I'm sorry is this not the natural deduction from this episode? That outside air is poisonous and Juliette survived because of Walk's tape.

xLithion

Imagine sitting in the cafeteria minding your business and you see some random bond chick from another silo come over the hill toward your silo and knock on the door

BustyMCnutty TM

this is fire, but what confuses me is that when they had to fix the gen at the bottom how come the screen in the cafeteria got fucked up and showed the helmet footage. W reaction as always tho

ChrisM

My question is, is it the air outside or the “sterilizing gas” that kills the ppl who go out?

ChrisM

So did Walker switch the IT tape out for Mechanical tape?? Or were they using the Mechanical tape on the suites the whole time??

Brayan Sauceda

Are you going to watch the leaked Demon Slayer movie or are you going to wait until it comes out on official platforms?

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

Once I got on that hill I would of start crip walking and chunk up the ✌🏾😂

Changa

George is a REAL ONE. Willing to die to keep the info safe and to spite his enemies. I ASPIRE to such pettiness.

Devaunta

It’s not a spoiler they directly have Juliette mention the tape while outside which any deeper thought would lead you to there being poisonous air

SixPathTobi

outside air broski. The world were for sure nuked or went to war with some radiation weapons.

SixPathTobi

When they shut down the Silo to 50%, it cut a bit of power to the fake display (green). Then the generator turned on and the real display (brown) came back up.

Fizzy 🐉

Gave me full blown fall out vibes only difference is that fall out vaults are way more fucked ever since I watched the video example explaining the vaults I had nightmares for ages 😭😭😭

Ernie

Am I tripping or isn't the sheriff and his wife dead? I don't see their bodies next to the tree during the aerial shot?

PhaedrusRumple

Incase yall didn’t know, Silo is based off of a trilogy book series

PhaedrusRumple

You’re tripping. They’re dead. She literally put holsten’s badge on his dead body.

Ernie

But we didnt see his body Then it has to be a continuity error.

AnnaSama

The heat tape from IT sucks on purpose so that people will die from the toxic air. Walk's tape is the good tape and she had Carla (ex-wife from supply) switch them. Next season is 🔥🔥🔥

hyakimaru dono

Old lady said her tape was good tape and the silo tape is bad that's why she made that face questioning why they would stop her from making better tape

James Germain

dont forget about "see" and "chief of war"

ManoLeBanano

oka yso we need s2 yesterday please

Dane

Bernard is right.

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

They are dead mate, I thought the same thing but after re-watching we couldn't see the body cause of the BS clear blue sky screen

PyroPhoenix

No, no. They are ACTUALLY trying to keep everyone safe from the outside/chaos/violence/war. I would not let a seriel killer have kids just as a precaution that mayb their kid turns out as a seriel killer, an extreme example but it’s basically like that. Sims is as clueless about the outside as everyone else.

PyroPhoenix

Also, yall are confusing the tape thing. They said the IT tape is BAD and that the tape they make themselves in mechanical is BETTER. IT Tape= BAD, Mechanical Tape= GOOD.

Narcissistic Humility

We didn't see the body through Juliette's view because she has the fake display on. We can see their body on the cafeteria display which is an accurate display of the outside. Where their bodies are on the cafeteria display is actually where their bodies are. That's why Juliette we see Juliette reach down on the screen - she is putting the badge on Holston's body.

Desert Penguin

I'd delete the last sentence from this post. Let them figure that out as they watch the show. A big mystery as you're watching is wondering how much they know

Ernie

But the aeriel view? 😫

PyroPhoenix

I didn’t think it was that bad since Im watching along with them, I havent seen past this. I removed it anyway but I just made the assumption based on how Bernard acts and says from what we’ve seen. He just seems like a bit more like Billings, by the book but with a little more crazy. Does something happen later on with Bernard that made that last sentence spoilerish or bad to know?

ShaquanVirse

I think what happens is that they give them shitty ass tape so the suit isn't fully protecting you? I think that's what's going on because they put so much emphasis on what tape they use. I think it's permanent control type shit cause if they could leave and explore, people would be out. 10/10 Series so far, i'm excited to see where S2 goes

DJ Muldrow

This show heavily borrows from fallout, down to the point of not having microcomputing (for different reasons ofc). Also I think the name of the show “silo” has two meanings, I was thinking missile silo and a grain silo for farms could they possibly be farming/storing people or could they be in old missile silos waiting for the fallout to die down?

Damion

what's the over under on knives out movies

A L

Yeah, it's one of the things I think the show didn't do a very good job of explaining compared to the books.

A L

I love when people are so confident in their wrongness. Credit to you though, for not deleting the post in shame.

A L

Yeah, I mentioned it back on episode 5. It's jarring seeing her in a role where she's a sympathetic character.

Jamaal Ellison

Yeah i saw that I just finished that episode a few hours ago. I read your comment and then I felt real dumb. 😂

PyroPhoenix

I feel like I understood it just fine 🤣 they explained it enough to actually make sense

Zigon Reacts

She switched the IT Tape for the one she makes in mechanical. The woman she went to talk to is a member of supply and that’s how she was able to get the right tape to Juliette. Hopefully this clears up the confusion.

Hybrid10Prime

It might be a localised apocalypse thing, where the area they are in is messed up or not cleaned up post incident to keep the illusion alive for the subjects of this playhouse/experiment/whatever is being done in the silos. I have my doubts for the legitimacy of a global apocalypse, what would be the point in destroying all data and books of the old world if the whole planetary surface was truly screwed?

ChrisM

My thing is, if it’s outside air, then why not just say that. Why make it a secret about above ground. I think letting the ppl know that if you step outside, you will die from hazardous conditions isn’t something that will cause some sort of outrage. I mean that’s what they are doing now and it seems to be working. The ppl don’t want to go out. Also if it’s the air outside, what’s the point of the decontamination room before they leave?? Usually that sort of process is done when you are coming into a clean/safe environment

The Answer

It's just similar to Fallout. This story started out as a short story around 1998, written before the Fallout 2 game and Fallout 1 was released in 1998, but Alas Babylon started the post-apocalyptic genre. everyone copy themes from that book

Narcissistic Humility

I haven't watched Knives Out 3 yet. I enjoyed Knives Out 1 more than Knives Out 2. Have you watched the 3rd one yet? Where would you say it ranks?

Keenan

the new 1 might be the best 1 imo def better than that 2nd one

LMR

Roshi TRAUMATISED with damn harddrives man after what happened🤣🤣

ARC98

Okay i haven't seen s2 yet... but my theory is that all other silos are connected and communicating with each other (well at least top floor/judicials) and Bernard's "judicial" are the true rebels that took over Silo 18.

These Plums

Imma need yall to let go of this “poison” theory lol. I’m pretty sure the tape just prevents exposure to the toxic air outside, but only Jules got the good tape.

Cerin Draco

Cant believe roshi called that shit way back in the beginning lol

StickyKeys

I binged the first season of this and became so obsessed I listened to every audiobook. I'm wildly excited for S3 and can't wait to see how it's received. Just wanted to give a quick note. "It's good in supply" refers to the heat tape. Juliette stole some from IT (not supply) bc Supply ran out. She also stole bc as IT, they should have the good stuff. Shirley noticed the tape was bad quality and the tape they usually get/had was much better. One thing to remember about cleanings is they are punishment. Either for people who broke the law or who asked to go out. The display is to ensure the person will clean, not for a moment of peace. We know both Sims nor Bernard care about keeping anyone peaceful! :D So when the suits are made, they are made with the crappy tape which lets the outside toxins in. There's a LOT more to it, but just know that there's a reason they can't have contact with the outside. So people would go out just long enough for the toxins to seep in. Since Juliette was using the good supply tape, it actually created a usable seal. I hope you guys keep going. S2 is slightly mixed, but I think you'll appreciate it.

rYenis

He bro im not a book reader but have finished watching s2. I appreciate you not dropping spoilers and I can see how s2 could be mixed. But on my watch there were many moments that were better than s1 but also moments that were worse. So I think that kinda evens it out. Can't wait for s2 reaction!

rYenis

I appreciate the gesture, just make it clear next time to note if you haven't watched or read ahead. Then your theories r free game. But I also love this community for always trying to keep a lock on spoilers. It makes everything better for reactors and the community.

rYenis

Yes, they are supposed to be dead. In the aerial shot, I think the vfx just made a mistake and the bodies were missing due to time constraints or it was overlooked.

Ernie

If u gaslighting i'm suing -_-

CAM

unless it's like cyberpunk and then a wasteland is outside of the city

GrandNubian

Knives Out 3 has a much different tone than the other 2 — more serious themes, less campy comedy. Very strong acting performances — it’s my favorite

Styrical

Love the reaction of this show. Looking forward to next week wherein I presume you'll continue with season 2. Request, anime: "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth" It's a science and religion show set in the 15th century. It's finished and has 25 episodes.

Spearbearer Josh

Lol basic physics, letting go inside the trash chute, you would fall at the same speed as the AC unit

Hybrid10Prime

No, that would only happen if you weigh the same as it. I don't know much the one they dropped down weighed, but even considering air resistance that mf should have caught up and smashed her into paste before anyone could get her out of its path

Spearbearer Josh

A bowling ball and a feather falls at the same speed in a vacuum. The only reason the AC would crash into her is because it has higher initial velocity which I agree could happen, but they accelerate at the same rate

lackingnames

In a vacuum yes... do you know what a vacuum is? And why do you think the ac would have higher initial velocity? They didn't throw it, they simply pushed it off the edge with no extra force. The two of them would not fall at the same speed simply due to the air resistance in the trash chute. The trash chute is not a vacuum lmao.

Spearbearer Josh

If the AC didn't have higher initial velocity, then with air resistance it would've never caught up. Both objects accelerate at the same rate.

Jamaal Ellison

Either way her ass should be broken. I'm talking HBK herniated disks.

Lele M

I think they are farming people but I’m still stuck on that one guy in the cafeteria who told Lukas today was gonna be cloudy was super sus because how does he know what clouds are and why would he know it’s gonna be cloudy today.

Lele M

Agree a global apocalyptic earth seems pretty much impossible unless it goes sci-fi, the Sun scorched the whole earth sort of thing. Even after nuclear bombs or explosion plants can still grow years after.

Lele M

I agree. I don’t understand why they are pumping smoke into the suit then. Just bc everything looks dead doesn’t mean the air is toxic per say. Everything looks dead in the desert. Maybe the writers were setting up a red herring but I also feel like the show could just tell us then. Unless people know cause of the books or something but.

ViralCorgi

Saying "basic physics" and then showing that you don't know basic physics is quite a choice 💀😭😂

john segun doe

Im watching this show alongside y'all and yep my assessment here is Juliette is the single most dangerous person to the inhabitants of the Silo. Her not cleaning will now spark a flame of inquisitiveness within people that will be chaotic. I also condemn her for not returning to clean, upon realizing the desolate nature of the Earth. Even though people would still see her moving around and not dying it would still be an attempt to show others she FUCKED UP and possibly deter future rebelliousness for the sake of knowing what is outside. It seems to me like they (top management) quell curiosity from the higher ups and hide stuff from the before times so that people in their never-ending quest to find truth get themselves and the whole lot in the silo CLAPPED. That multiple SILO thing is what really tripped me out and had me sitting there for almost half an hour coming up with potential possible places this show can take this. INSANITY!!!!! Well onto S2 HOLY FUCK THIS SHOW IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

Inug0d

Tape clapping everybody 🤣🤣🤣

returntolife

Hey can you explain how Kyle survived in season 3 though?

Tariq Goedar

What a season man and what a reaction enjoyed this so much
