Please check out The Atypical Family on Netflix 🙏🏾🙏🏾 It’s a great Kdrama, it has an interesting plot, mystery, romance and other cool stuff ! One of the best kdrama of 2024 for sure

Had to go rewatch the glory after this painful show

Imma need the writers of this one to never cook again. Interesting premise but I feel like the story never reached its full potential and fell apart at the end writing wise

Great critiques by Sheera and Roshi at the end. Loved Roshi's reaction to seeing the return of the blue belt. 🤣 I appreciate this show for exploring the complicated decisions victims of domestic violence have to make. And I enjoyed watching Eun-su's transformation from a silent bystander to someone who fiercely (recklessly) defended the people she loved. But yeah, every revenge kdrama feels inferior to The Glory.

i think ‘the glory’ just set the standard so high as far as revenge-esque stories go that everything else pales a bit in comparison. this one felt somewhat lacking in a few ways to me as well, but i still enjoyed it overall. i think the last bits of this episode personally made up for any little gripes because it was so nice to see the three of them happy and living out their lives in the end <3.

Yeah I'm spoiled by the peak that was The Glory. I know this wasn't quite the same setup and not every protagonist needs to be a Moon Dong-eun type or Light Yagami levels of calculative and competent, but they could have done more with this. Like at least let ole girl use that blue belt and really show out for a moment, you know? The writing in this show was a bit sloppier and the ending was okay here but wrapped up too quickly to be deeply satisfying. We should have been able to really feel the gravity of the getback for the mother and the sister.

I knew that Hui-su's death was a fakeout, but the reveal took so long I believed it for a minute and I was pissed. I think some folks are having a hard time with the show, cause they're looking at it like it's a 'revenge' show and that's not what this is. It's not a revenge fantasy show, it's about highlighting the horrors of domestic violence and shining a mirror on the complicity of people that look away. If you wanted Eun-su to do some sick judo moves or stab the sister, it's not that kind of show. Overall I liked the show, but I felt the opposite of Roshi and Sheera, I thought it went on too long. I was fine with it when the mother and sister were just evil people enabling Jin-pyo but then the show turned the sister into a full on cartoon villain it fell apart for me. I'd rather have like 2 episodes after they killed him to just show Hui-su and Eun-su trying to put their lives back together and what that live looks like after getting out of that abusive relationship, but I get that probably doesn't make for 'compelling' TV.

Good show! I Ship Eunsu with Mr Jin. They have good chemistry/dynamic I wanted to see them get together if even just a scene of a ring or something in the show, but i guess it wasnt the place and its just my romance addicted brain taking over, so im sad about that, but ill just live with my headcannon that they get together.

Squaler

This show was incredibly mid with two of the dumbest main characters ever written. Hui Sui got saved by the script. Surviving carbon Monoxide for that long isn’t a thing. She would have been dead within minutes, not hours like they showed. When you think about it, this getting 8 episodes only made sense. No way they could have stretched this to the usual 16.

Mr Sunshine or Signal next plssss. You guys will love either one. Classics.

Yall would like the atypical family

Jamaal Ellison

😂 Yo I'm so glad Eun-su turned that belt back in spawn partner get his understood for no reason cause the results that training never manifested. She just got her ass, beat the whole series. I'm just glad the mom and sister got punished and ruined.

girlygirl9983

Well this wasn't too bad I was unsure how this would pan out but I liked the ending. South Korea is heavily surveillanced and majority of cars have dash cams, but that scene was kind of confusing.

i also feel K-Dramas have a lot of fluff tho I still love them. I'm used to k-dramas being 16 or 20 eps but now they've dwindled eps count to 8, 12 or still 16 but not as long which I thought would help remove a lot of fluff they usually add but yeah.
