Lucy wrong as fuck about the pronunciation of Caesar, btw. The soft C, what the Ghoul mentioned the Legion don't use, is Church Latin, specifically. Caesar's proper name pronunciation was "Yoolius Kaizar," so the Legion is more historically accurate point blank on that. The Romance languages missed the memo because of the Church i guess, but the title made its way to Germany and Russia, leading to the terms Kaiser and Tzar/Tsar.

Lucy is actually wrong about pronouncing it as Ceasar instead of Kaisar, as Kaisar is how it was pronounced during the actual Roman time period. So she's trying to mansplain the Legion, for lack of a better term, their own culture to them. Which is a commentary on both the American education system and shows how ludicrous Lucy's know-it-all personality is. The Ghoul also comments on how the Legion pronounces Ceasar, saying the Legion has a difficulty with the progress of time and how they refuse to use the soft C. This whole sequence is of course a massive reference to New Vegas, the game, where only the Legion pronounces Ceasars name with a hard K, while everyone else in the Mohave pronounces it like Lucy does.

Funny enough, Lucy is actually wrong about the pronunciation of Caesar. The Roman Latin pronunciation is actually closer to Kaiser, with the C sounding kind of like a K. The German form of Kaiser is literally from the Roman/Latin version, just spelled closer to how it sounds. So the legion is actually somewhat historically accurate with their pronunciation. Also, Prima Nocta, is where the Lord or ruler of the area has the right to the first night/virginity of the soon to be bride. She is right that its not a roman thing, and instead from the middle ages, though it wasn't very commonly used because well, easy way to start a rebellion in your land. Think the movie Braveheart. Great movie if you haven't seen it.

Despite their goofy look, Caesar's Legion is one of the most ruthless factions in game lore. And as some comments say was featured in the Game Fallout New Vegas, and befitting their tittle were seen more as a antagonistic group. The skeleton you see in the show on top of the mound was the original "Caesar" and was one of the main NPCs you can interact with in the game. They got everything down to the glove he wore.

When the ghoul was talking himself through the process he was referencing the ship of Theseus, the idea that if you start replacing the parts of something, how many parts can you replace before that something becomes something else. At first i thought he was talking about himself physically, but i think he was talking about his mental condition too. I think the one question lucy asked about "how do you want your family to see you when you see them" actually did make him stop and think.

I just realised Lucy's personality isn't just naïve, it's similar to the whimsical unseriousness of a player in the games. Or maybe it's sort of like she's reverted back to her old self after seeing her mother, in a desperate attempt to prevent top side from corrupting her as it has everyone else. Walter Goggins been going through some of the realest shit for centuries, and dumbfuck Lucy just prances along thinking she knows better. The show is set 15 years after the events in New Vegas, which is why Caesar is dead. Caesar is both a name and title. In real life after Julius Caesar became dictator of Rome and was murdered his adopted son Octavian took his name and became the first Roman Emperor, changing his name to Augustus Caesar. After that the name Caesar would become the title of the emperor of Rome. The titles of the Russian emperor 'Tsar', and the German emperor 'Kaiser' both mean Caesar. For the game, Caesar was a citizen of the NCR and member of the Followers of the Apocalypse named Edward Sallow who was obsessed with Roman history. So he changed his name to Caesar and created a group heavily inspired by Roman culture and traditions, which is why his successors call themselves Ceasar.

Big yes. Fallout 4 is the most fun and easiest to get into fallout game but if you're a massive RPG games fan and want more choice and consequences new Vegas would be more for you. Personally I always go back to play fallout 4 more than New Vegas

Lucy was right though, the woman needed the stimpak to live but Cooper didn't. He just carved out a chunk of his leg and he was good to go. Perhaps if he had bothered to give Lucy literally ANY context besides "people wearing tunics are bad" perhaps things would have turned out differently. And Lucy isn't naive. Naivety implies a certain level of ignorance. They had the talk last episode, Lucy knows the world is bad but she's making a conscious decision to look for the good in people. Obviously in the world of Fallout that belief is going to get her jammed up, but I think she's okay with that.

I love Lucy so much man. (I know with all the negativity she gets this might sound like a sarcasm, but it's not. Genuinely.) She feels like my gameplay of Fallout, the goody-two-shoes who helps everyone out. I can never hate or be annoyed at her character for simply trying to be a good person. There're a few quests in Fallout that punishes you for simply trying to do the right thing, and this TV show just feels like if Fallout had LOTS of those moments. I remember playing a game called This War of Mine that heavily punished (at least me) many, many times for trying to be kind, and repeatedly showed me that kindness gets everyone killed, and yet I played the game so, so many times not learning the lesson until finally I decided to stop being an altruist and take care of my own and was finally able to make actual progress. Lucy will learn, maybe not this season, but she will. This is not me saying people can't be frustrated with her cartoon-like behavior, this is just me expressing that I can't personally hate her. Also, for Maximus, I think it'll be like the thing the Ghoul said, he saved the ghoul children but will start a war resulting in the deaths of hundreds or thousands.

I feel like the show does a great job of showing playstyles through several characters. Like Max suggesting to kill the emissary felt just like a player picking a dialog option casually suggesting murder. This along with his other "crazy" choices between both seasons remind me of how I play these games, so while I can't say I'm with all of Lucy's choices I 100% agree I can't hate her
