It stops mana detection... its too much of a risk to have something on hand that COMPLETELY counters two of the BEST mages in the world. If Stark were to ever get speedblitzed or the stone falls to the enemy its wraps for Fern and Frieren as well.

Setting aside that Frieren is still a JRPG flavoured story and leaving heaps of treasure is not uncommon in those stories, the simple fact is Stark is their front liner. His job is to protect Fern and Frieren. We saw it in the cave. If a melee opponent got within 3 meters of Fern and Stark rushed to protect her, he would immediately neutralize all her spells. You're acting like Stark can rummage through his bag and discard the crystal in a split second with zero risk.

I dont think theres any sort of confirmation on the movie. Just speculation based on length of the upcoming arcs. But it does seem like it'd make a lot of sense. Pretty big arc starts after what seems like it will be about 10 episodes worth of material. And Anime movies have been popping off lately. I just hope they've already been working on it and its not gonna be a huge wait. Frieren does get some hype scenes and animation here and there. But its rarely something where spectacle is that important like with Reze arc for example. So im a little torn

I’m so glad Sheera called it out with the excuses people have for other shows with a slower pacing. Like, I’m glad some of y’all can connect with a hint of a dimension in a badly established character, but bad writing is bad writing. Even in the cases the show gets better, or faster paced, it just means it was a bad show that improved 😮‍💨

You know what thing I've noticed in a lot of media that feature elves, you almost NEVER see an old one, since they usually die before they actually get old. Also if a elf lived long enough to be elderly, would their brains even be able to process the amount of time they've spent living or would they develop like dementia or something similar? (the only elderly elf Ik from media is The Storyteller from Pathfinder)

in alot of stories Elves can't die of old age, they are truly immortal and maintain young fresh skin, age only showing in their hair color in some stories. Making an elf be old and get dementia is literally going against what they are, that's why you hardly see it.

Fern and Frerien started travelling together 4 years ago and Stark I believed joined over a year ago, probably closer to 2 now. 6 months can pass in like 1 -2 eps depending on the story
