Tre Staples

Finally PEAK has arrived 😤👏🏽👏🏽

Christian Owusu

Lol I just knew yall couldn’t stop yourselves sadly I already caught up this show is the best GOT we’ve gotten since S5

Jamaal Ellison

I literally just started cooking dinner this is perfect now i just need Dark to drop.

earthphoenix7068

/s 😭 Roshi I know yo busy ass ain’t got time for Reddit

ARCHER

Finally 😭

PJ Rivera

In case anybody is wondering why Aerion got so mad(aside from believeing himself to be a dragon) its because the dance of the dragons(where all the dragons died) was only 77 years ago and losing their fire breathing super weapons is still a sore subject for them especially in these times where people start saying “Why should we listen to the targs? They don’t have dragons anymore”. Its still a dumb crashout though the story Tanselle was re-enacting is a childrens fairytale about a knight who polishes his shield like a mirror distracting a dragon to slay it. Its like if a high ranking senator flipped out at a play of jack in the beanstalk LMAO

Jesse Marie

cant wait for them to see ep 4 and 5

PAM

Now the next 2 episodes, even more peak!

Carlos

Just drop the next two tomorrow and finish the show on Monday 🙏 lol

T

All I will say is that just because the fortune teller says that people will be happy he died, doesn’t mean he will be a terrible king. Also, next episode is my favorite.

Kobe

The mad king is eggs grandson

camille

They are watching it on their own off stream.

blitzman08

i love yall but sometimes you guys talk over some of the funniest dialogue and important lines

Riley

Egg and the Mad King are not the same person.

Jigga Man

The Lupa ending took me tf out 😂😂😂

diego

Aegon is the Mad King's grandpappy

Jacob Livingston

The mad king is aegons son. Aemon is eggs brother. That’s who raymun was mentioning who they sent to the citadel. Aemon was the old maester of the knights watch. And on his death bed he was calling for egg.

October Veil

So fun fact: Maester Aemon Targaryen of the Knights Watch is Eggs next older brother. The “useless one” Raymond mentions. He mentions Egg as he’s dying. “Egg. I dreamed I was old.” 😢

Tabbs

Didn’t Daemon go for the horse too when he was jousting Otto’s son?

Futuristic Girl

i think sheera is right about the fortune. the lady didn't specifically say he was a terrible person. she just said all that knew him would be glad about his death so it really depends on who he is closest too. and we know his family is fucked up.

Q So Raww

jamie killed the mad king

Brandyn

The rest of the royalty didn't respect Aegon because of how much time he spent with the common people, so Sheera was kinda right in that aspect lol

Shiroja

From my understanding Jousting is still around today

Mantross

I have blonde hair and my bush is black. It happens.

Tameka H.

lol, the witch states that all will rejoice at the time of Eggs death did come to pass however his great grandson Prince Rhager (Jon Snows dad) was born at the same time and place. These prophecies always have double/hidden meanings.

Nurget

🤣

Fred

Ser dunk the creator of the bacon egg and cheese

Koosha☯️Possible🖤💚

Lmaoo 9:30 with the goose eggs reminded me of rush hour 2 when Carter bought the chicken from the lady cause she kept tryna kill it in front of him. Love ya'll!

Blud

I love Dunk ⛹️ and Egg 🥚!

Ernie

I'm warning you. I'm a police officer. Put the blade down and let the bird go right now!!!"

Boogie

I need ep 4 and 5 on the same day next week 🤞🏽

A

Y'all are about to eat GOOOOOD next week. 3 peak episodes back to back

A

They talked all through the song which I know they would've found funny and give them details about the family

Devin Witt

Jousting still exists, just in Ren Fests as far as I know. Very expensive, obviously, so it's really just a niche interest. Fun to watch still.

Amori

The mad king is Egg’s Grandson!

Derpin

"Egg get your daddy, your brother, your uncle" I laughed so hard when Sheira said this because with Targaryens there is always a chance it's all 3.

t500010000

Dialogue cuts fantastic!

DJ Muldrow

I’m pretty sure this aegon is mentioned in game of thrones (flagship) by a specific Targaryen as being kind and gentle, I truly think his death is simply because he’s a Targaryen and not because of anything he’s done personally

DJ Muldrow

In my opinion the people of Westeros are just as mad as the targaryens

GrayStark

Jousting does not exist anymore. Ren Fair reenactments don’t count as midevil jousts I’m sorry to say

GrayStark

“ I’m pretty sure” I truly think” “simply”. Cmon man….

Futuristic Girl

I love raymun's hatred of the targaryens

Futuristic Girl

dunk finding out his squire is actually a missing targayen prince 😂 it's been an eventful few days for him

Futuristic Girl

egg's true identity was never truly a secret but I'm glad they didn't drag out the reveal

Devin Witt

Ah, dang, that's too bad.

Futuristic Girl

the targaryens don't have their dragons anymore in this time and they're really only at the tournament to do pr so that puppet show about killing the dragon evidently triggered something in aerion they are not as powerful as they once were the common people don't really respect them

illnamethechannellater653

19:00 Aerion doing that to a high born knight. After The Targaryens lost they nukes in dragons and after they plunged the relm into two recent succession wars. It's like Targaryens want everyone to rebel and destroy their house. 🤦🏾

maseken

I believe it was a quote in GoT - "Every time a new Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin... one side greatness, the other madness" they never just have a normal mf in that family. Look at HotD, all those kids messed up, King Jaehaerys seemed the most normal but he got fucked up. I feel like all "good" Targaryen's meet untimely death's anyways

Futuristic Girl

also the horse just started randomly pooping as they were filming it wasn't intentional

Itanna

When that horn blew at 16:40 I thought uncle ruckus was about to show up lol

CentipedeKid

The blackfyres have dark hair and have been interbreeding with the Targaryen for years. The boy could have mixed heritage and a result some of his hair could be black.

Victor

The mad king did not die in a fire you know. He was stabbed in the back by Jaime, the sole reason why people calling him Kingslayer.

girlygirl9983

Lupa & Sheera with this intro 🤣 I can't ❝A KNIGHT‼️ OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMSSSSSS‼️❞

Jaelyn Mcgee

That line always got me, even before I really knew about Egg and Dunk. Aemon was such a great character and a good man

CentipedeKid

"why would she say what?" This MF a dumbass. She looked a child in the face and said he's gonna die and everyone will be happy about it.

Victor

Lupa: this show is 100 years before GoT Also Lupa: He is the mad king Bro, lock in! And the mad king was nowhere near old when he died. He just has silver hair like most of the Targaryens.

Co

We need a TouchGrassTV vlog of Roshi and Lupa at a Renaissance Fair to see them argue about some jousting rules

iibreezy2x

Somehow this isn’t the 1st time I see this exact comment.

Eric

Roshi locked in on the dialogue trying like hell to hear it over the peanut gallery 😂

Victor

Tbf he probably thought she was saying some bs as soon as she said Egg will be king.

Victor

Lupa was right about the rules. The whole point of jousting is to knock the opponents off their horses so striking the horses is forbidden and often rules as losing the match.

Co

That's a sad thing to hear. But just goes to show how good writing could exist outside budget.

Johnwick

Jousting is still an active sport actually

Sam

I've written and deleted two contradictory comments and now I realise my final theory aligns with the first comment I wrote, lol.

Sam

I think Roshi's point on whatever rules they may have now are unlikely to match the ruleset from centuries ago so it's unlikely to be a good reference point.

Grimm

tbf giving that the story only revolves around this tourney and how their in a time of no Dragons and basically peace times so no wars. Makes sense why they don't have a big budget.

Noah Jackson

Fun fact. The brother who was shipped off to the Citadel was Maester Aemond who is the maester who mentored Jon Snow at the Wall.

Hanno

Aemon

DJ Muldrow

Stating my opinion ≠ fact holy shit get off my nuts man, is this not the aegon old dude was talking about in game of thrones?

DJ Muldrow

Ty for not spoiling lmao I hope it isn’t some stupidly tragic shit

Hanno

The intro is intentionally simple. It's not because of budget. The story is about a guy who just wants to be a knight, the intro won't be some sprawling map of Westeros or anything like that

Futuristic Girl

also I don't think it needs one. this show is way more small scale and grounded. and I think it's trying to set itself apart from the other shows in the GOT universe.

howwlll

I don't think that's true, most of the Blackfyre descendants were in Tyrosh and the rest of Essos. The first Blackfyre only died like 13 years before this. Egg's mother and grandmother are both Dornish though

howwlll

I'm guessing Lupa was mixing up his actual death with Aerys' plan to burn King's Landing

Brandyn

The fact that Aemon had to double down and take the Black before they decided Egg would take the crown says a lot lmao. They really didn’t fuck with him at all 😂

Hanno

6:30 He's referring to himself and the Warrior (one of the seven gods in the faith of the seven)

Mitch Coob

Next two eps are peak Thrones

howwlll

Raymun ran in with his sword drawn cuz he's a real one

Mitch Coob

I think the show runner mentioned he didn’t want an intro like the previous two shows to set this one apart

Sleep Deprived Sal

22:00 another reason he’d make a more than decent Aang 👀😂

Zanni

The mad King was stabbed by Jamie Lannister. Plus, we all know how fortunes and prophecies go. Especially in GOT. They can have several meanings and interpretations. Unfortunately, even some good, normal Targaryens usually end up meeting hoffific, ambiguous deaths either way. Gotta put on the thinking cap when it comes to prophecies. "All who know you shall rejoice in your dying" = could mean the counsil or enemies in Westeros, as not all who may 'know you' will necessarily love you or be your ally. A good example is our homegirl Rhaenyra.

Futuristic Girl

most fans knew about egg. still, i liked the way egg revealed his identity to essentially save the dunk and the puppet girl. even though now egg has put dunk in a dangerous situation, his intentions were good.

Brenda

Just to clear up some confusion. Egg is the grandfather to the mad king! And he was considered a good man not the best king simply because he wasn’t good at controlling his kids honestly😬

Unknown

Wait, so is Egg the one that drank wildfire, thinking he would turn into a dragon, according to Jeoffrey Baratheon?

adam8t

Aerion is

Hanno

The Mad King was 39 when Jaime killed him

Unknown

Oh, the shithead that broke hg’s fingers?

Jason Marbach

I truly, truly loved Egg’s dialogue when he was talking about the girl named Alice, whom he rechristened Hope. Favorite part of this whole show so far, for me.

WackySwacky

There is a general history of Westeros written by George R. R. Martin that is common knowledge to the fanbase, which is presented as a in-universe history book called A World of Ice and Fire. In this history book, Dunk and Egg’s lives are summarized. You are SUPPOSED to know this information, regardless if you have read the 3 currently released novellas of the Dunk & Egg series already or not. Knowing the general outline of their lives actually adds to the reading of these stories. So that all being said, here is a very minor spoiler that you should know anyway, which will add more context for the enjoyment of this series. Aegon is NOT the Mad King Aerys. Aerys is Egg’s grandson. Rheagar and Daenarys are Egg’s great grandchildren. And Jon is Egg’s Great, great grandson.

ZK

you guys should touch up on the targeryan dynasty and the line etc it makes the viewing better imo

Raventerrace

Lupa they still do Jousting even today in modern society it's the official state sport of Maryland

WackySwacky

Incorrect. Jaeherys is Aegon’s son, and Mad King Aerys is Jaeherys’ son.

Tae

LMBO I KNEW YALL WOULD LAUGH AT THE WAY EGG SAID “you” I COULDNT WAIT😭😭😭😭

Jacob Livingston

Canon to the show the mad king is Aegons son. In the book yes you are correct. But in the show aemon said Aerys the mad king was eggs son. They changed it in the show.

Jacob Livingston

If I remember correctly the show skipped a whole generation of targaryens and made that change due the age of everyone. I’m speaking canon to the show I didn’t read the books.

Jacob Livingston

The show made the change to egg being the mad kings father. They skipped a whole generation. Aemon said aegon “V” was followed by his son aerys.

WackySwacky

None of the Blackfyre’s have dark hair. They all have the silver/gold hair of all Valyrians. For backstory in who the Blackfyres are, continuing reading, minor spoilers: The Blackfyres stem from a bastard son of Aegon IV, named Daemon, who took on the last name Blackfyre after Aegon IV legitimized all of his bastard children on his death bed. Aegon IV had given Daemon the Targaryen family sword Blackfyre when Daemon turned 13, and many people saw it as a sign of Aegon choosing Daemon as his successor. Daemon chose the sword’s name, Blackfyre, as the name for his house after being legitimized. Eventually, Daemon Blackfyre would start the 1st Blackfyre Rebellion, which takes place 15 years before the events of The Hedge Knight, and is the backstory for the events of the story. The Blackfyres stay relevant throughout all of Dunk & Eggs lives.

adam8t

Yeah his whole thing is trying to be a dragon

13

Lmao this family lineage.. I went to try and find spoilers for myself, and I swear there's like a total of 4 names reused between every known male targaryen

Andrew

Literally. Was curious about where this all fit into it and my god is it hard to follow. I got there in the end and am very excited to see how this goes

Underlord

Jousting still does exist

Just Gene

Fucking Lupa almost killed me, I was drinking when he said 'oi finish on your wife's tits yeah?' and almost drowned.

Caraxes🐐DT

Egg not the mad king lol he not even born yet…Aerys the second is the mad king. Targaryens not all mad lol you can count on your finger how many mad Targaryens there are.

Ledish

Quite realistic for monarchies. Just look at the majority of French monarchs being Louis, Charles, or Philip... Swedish ones being Gustaf, Karl, or Karl Gustaf... or the Danish kings from 1513 until now all being Christian or Frederik (literally just flipping back and forth between those two names).

Pulse rifles suck in pve

in the shows lore, egg is the mad kings father unless they look to correct this. Maester Aemon said his brother is the Mad King's father

Errr

In the show eggs son is the mad king

Samuela Shannon

28:03 Aemon, the Targaryen old guy that Jon Snow was with at the wall. He died speaking Egg's name.

A.

Who do you classify as mad? I'd take Aerys II, Aerion, Baelor the Blessed, the sibling trio of Rhaegar, Viserys, and Dany. Depending on how Summerhall went down, I'd add Aegon the Unlikely too. Then you have the ones that were just cruel or disastrous for the realm like Maegor, Aegon II and Rhaenyra, Daemon (Blackfyre and Targaryen), Aegon the Unworthy.

A.

It's like reading about the war of the roses, and everyone is Edward, Richard, George, Margaret, Elizabeth or Ann.

Nate

Why is everyone insisting on spoiling what they'll find out next episode, it doesn't make you cool, they don't appreciate it, it doesn't make you better than everyone else, so why do u ruin things for others?

A.

Joffrey will never stop spoiling the spin-offs.

A.

Also spoilers: The Blackfyres base their legitimacy on incest and Valyrian blood purity because Daemon's mother was Daena "the defiant" a Targ princess and Aegon IV's cousin, whereas his rivals are part Dornish, and the current king brought Dorne into the 7 kingdoms peacefully via marriage and there is still bad blood between Dorne and the rest of the kingdoms. It's also rumoured that the current king isn't even the son of Aegon IV because his sister queen may have had an affair with their other brother. It's incest all the way down with Targaryens.

John Fleming

If Sully was there, this book series would be one page. “Dude in like a hoodie took all the horses n I guess shot a guy. Whatever shot means, I’m just townsfolk” The end

Dionte Mcginnis

Sorry Lupa your wrong he was the good one like shura said they didn’t like him cause he was a king that was for the poor not for the rich that’s why he gives back more to the lower class then the rich that’s why they rejoiced when he died cause they can finally find a king for the high class

traplikemaxxx

All the targs aren’t mad, that’s just propaganda. It’s a select few for sure that were genuinely mad.

Oliver

2:48 AC=After (Aegon's) conquest 1. So the story of Dunk and Egg starts in 209 AC, they are in the Reach (Tyrells) which is the south and the Reach is the part of the country that is most focused on Knighthood and honor. The North worships the Old gods so technically they don't have "knights" 2. Roberts rebellion was 282–283 AC (73 years after AKOTSK) 3. House of the dragon show civil war was 129-131 AC (78 years before AKOTSK) and there are still a few living people that remember the last dragon 4. Game of thrones S1 in 298 AC (89 years after AKOTSK) and S4 in 301 AC. That is around the last part in GRRM canon book story 28:02 That person is the same Maestor that went to the wall, the blind guy who Jon Snow talked to.

Zacost

Dam that old lady been spoiling the story

Caraxes🐐DT

Mad like the mad king? lol id give you maegor, baelor, viserys…saying disastrous to the realm like they not in a whole war is crazy tho lol only one I would consider mad in the dance of the dragon story is aemond but also most of these names was pushed to doing stuff it’s not like they were born that way. Even the mad king was considered a good king and didn’t turn crazy until he was tortured and held captive so again putting that just on the Targaryen family is crazy considering every family has crazy people in it in that world. I guess you could say obsessing over the dreams is them going mad? But I don’t see it that way tbh I mean Rhaegar was still normal as hell

Rabadan422

Daeron was the drunk in the tavern in episode 1 hence why it focused on him paying a gold dragon which is SUPER expensive 3 of those coins would have bought dunk armour as each 1 is worth 210 stags which steely pate asks for 600

Rabadan422

Not just that though it’s also to do with how he died and what he was doing

Rayn

The way people in this comment section casually just spoil shit is actually hilarious

Brenda

Master Aemon is eggs, brother, but the lineage goes… Aegon V Targaryen aka egg (grandfather) Jaehaerys II Targaryen (father) Aerys II Targaryen the Mad King

Abensur

Sheeragan goes crazy and that’s all I’ll say

Rcola25 Jr

They had me weak 😂 on that “Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Kissimmee isn’t real in 2026”. Shit

Indifferent Denji

Anyone got a good video on the GOT timeline i really am not tryna watch the show just to get to the bad stuff im not ready for that commitment but im really interested n these new shows theyve been bringing out seems like ppl enjoy them. DO I need to even watch the first show? Ill be honest ik alot of spoilers just cause ive seen adn heard stuff in passing but nothing in context so im not fully green

Bria A.

Prophecies are extremely biased! I don't know a ton of ASOIAF lore, but you gotta keep in mind that these things are twisted, usually in favor of the nobles recounting the history. For example, Fire & Blood / HotD is canonically a book written by the maesters and not an objective story like the main series books. Like Sheera was getting at, a "good" king to the underprivileged could be a "terrible" king to rich people who are comfortable with exploitation lmao.

UNI

thank you cause when I notice that nigga had white hair, there's no way a Targaryen would be alone in a bar that drunk. Lowkey him and Egg are the ones who fled from their family cause it leaves questions over the fact that both were in that same spot together and the inn lady said never you mind about him to dunk. the fled from the family part is my only assumption and I hope we get answers.

Modiveram

You can watch the knight of the seven kingdoms without having to watch Game of thrones or House of dragons. But regarding your question the timeline goes House of Dragons > Knight of the Seven Kingdoms > Game of Thrones

DarkSonicExE0216

I barely look at live action shows, but I do recommend actually trying out Game of Thrones, at least the first three seasons, you don't have to watch more then that unless you want to. I honestly was surprised of how good it was, and you don't have to watch it in order to watch the spin offs.

WackySwacky

Not canon, so it doesn’t matter. This show is supposed to take us through Egg’s entire life, and the showrunners have already said they mean to keep it faithful to the books. The Game of Thrones TV series did a lot of things wrong, excluded a lot of lore from the books that is actually important, so HBO has to fix the mistakes they made back then.

WackySwacky

There were like 8 Henrys in the English royal line. George R. R. Martin took from real history when he gave many of the Targaryen kings the same name. Egg here will be Aegon V.

Hollow

I don't think listing the deaths is necessary. There may be people that haven't seen that you just spoiled.

Alex

The horse!!

Dreamer

NOT a spoiler. More of a throwback to the original show. Fossoway said that one of Maekar’s sons was being shipped off to the citadel to be a maester. 90 yrs before the main GOT timeline + Targaryen being sent to the citadel = Maester Aemon

Oliver

No that's fair. Were just trying to give people an idea of GOT start and late date But thank you will change :)

vianka

I love lupa but he gotta drop the aegon is the mad king theory and the death the fortune teller described was not like aerys II she said dying in fire, whilst the mad king aerys was stabbed in the back by jaime lannister

Saphthings

Honestly it's such a deviation from the usual trope of asking someone to throw a fight, that it IS confusing a bit. The summary is that if he, a newbie, challenges this big knight, it will seem like a newbie trying his luck for fame so people wouldn't expect him to win. If the famous knight challenged the newbie it would seem dishonorable. There IS also one added factor, the heir to the family's safety. It being planned they could make sure he won't be fatally wounded. So all that happens is that they lose to a fight, they'll say it's a fluke or whatever, and they make tons of money.

Joni

nah roshi bro i'm disappointed in u, obv u can't hurt the horse )))))))))))))))))));

Cinmnapple

BTW: the play the puppeteers put on was the fairytale of Ser Selwyn the Mirror Knight. It predates the arrival of Targaryens in Westeros. Some people think Tanselle was trying to slander the Targs but Aerion is just crazy.

Cinmnapple

Broke: This show is about how terrible the targs are Woke: This is show is about how terrible the noble class is

KapZachlan

Maaaaan fuck the schedule, yall should just get caught up on this peak for sundays finale

Courtney Anne Thomas

I was so confused so basically they want him to win cause nobody will bet on him so the ratio of the payout would be larger

Gfrmbk

He’s the grandfather of the mad king

Adrian Locke

23:45 me: *looks at Summerhall*

Adrian Locke

Raymun had about enough of these silver haired niggas LMAOOOOOOO

Adrian Locke

Egg aka Aegon V is the younger brother of Aemond (aka Maester Aemond), grandfather of Aerys the Mad King and great grandfather of Prince Rhaegar (who started Robert’s Rebellion by ‘kidnapping’ Lyanna Stark), Prince Viserys (who gets killed by Khal Drogo) and Daenerys. He also (ironically) happens to be great-grandfather of Robert Baratheon and his brothers. This also takes place after I think most of if not all of the Blackfyre Rebellions which was caused by Aegon IV naturalizing all of his bastards on his deathbed, which Egg references in the song he was singing while sitting in the tree

Ayanda Mpofu

Aerion was smart for going after the horse, fuck that honorable shit😄. Also that girl deserved getting her finger broken, like why do THAT play when the Targaryens are in town.

GrayStark

This the kinda dude on TikTok with Erin cosplay talking about punching walls and shit

Slime SLAT

i cant find a definitive answer on if egg was a good king or not

Slime SLAT

wdym prophecies are bias? the fortune teller had no idea who egg was unless your saying fate is bias lol

WackySwacky

Yes he was, but the end of his rule is shrouded in mystery and the author hasn’t revealed what happened yet.

WackySwacky

Bias is the wrong word. What they should have said is prophecies are difficult to interpret. Like how “the Prince that was Promised” prophecy can actually be interpreted as referring to either a boy or a girl, which nobody thought of until the latest book was released.

WackySwacky

Daeron doesn’t have white hair. He has blonde hair. This is noted in the books as well.

Adrian Locke

Depends on whose perspective you look at it from really. To the common folk, yes, because he tries to do a lot of reforming tailored toward making the public’s life easier, which angered the nobility deeply. There’s also theories about what happened at Summerhall that I don’t wanna mention because it’s a lot of spoilers for a good amount of GOT history that AKOTSK will probably cover since it’s getting multiple seasons

Bria A.

Mm, no, I know what words mean and I know what I said. What you said is true and a worthwhile addendum, but what I meant was that prophecies are indeed biased because it's rare that the speaker lives in a morally perfect vacuum. Melisandre actively worked towards a particular goal, and therefore her prophecies re: the Lord of Light were biased to achieve it. The witch who killed Khal Drogo was vindictive on purpose (and may have just been lying. tbh). Other people who spoke prophecies could be more neutral -- honestly, I'd consider Helaena one of the most straightforward seers -- but it is what it is. Prophecies are both biased and susceptible to bias, which I'll admit I should've clarified.

Heather

bro roshi the only one that makes sense

Heather

and as the person said the woman dids not know him so how vould they be biased

PAM

I prefer to see it from the smallfolk's perspective. A ruler who doesn't make an effort to help those on the lowest rung of society is a worthless ruler to me.

Dreamer

*four seasons. Not 3 seasons. Leaving out season 4 is crazy. After that, it’s downhill.

PRKnight126

All the Targaryen’s are not mad… u flip a coin just as many are good, viserys rhaenerya and rhaenys are good

Cinmnapple

The flip a coin quote is literally Baratheon propaganda post rebellion, the show just treated it like fact. When you read the books you see they’re not all that different from the other great houses. They’ve almost all got their black sheep.

Bench

The flip a coin line is attributed to Jahaerys the II, so i woudnt say its fully baratheon propaganda

Chris

They may have a slightly higher tendency towards madness (though often like Daeron it is closer to mood swings or depression) but that usually comes down to folks who inherited the dragon dreams specifically (something that seems to have been surprisingly common in Maekar's descendants despite him never appearing to have them).

Chris

Jousting does have a fair amount of rules, especially because the combatants are noble. Losing an eye because a freak splinter/part of a lance entered the slit is an accident and an understood risk, intentionally striking the horse (which kills said horse and risks crippling the rider) would be a whole other matter.

howwlll

This is only after the First Blackfyre Rebellion. The tourney is about 13 years after the First and 3 years before the Second.

howwlll

The other factor is that the son is a champion (there are five sitting champions at the end of that first nighttime joust). He has to be challenged, he can't challenge Dunk. That's the main reason the gamemaster had to try to talk Dunk into it

Thilde

keep yourself safe, weirdo

Thilde

Huh? What are you on about, you made up this entire comment lol. They don't have dark hair, nor have they "interbred with the Targaryens" for years.. That makes no sense. They're a very new thing in this timeline and they all came FROM a Targaryen king (Aegon IV)

Thilde

Its also a story that existed long before the Targaryens came to Westeros

Tuny kun

9:58 Just out here awkwardly holding these eggs lmao. Some real Greg from Succession vibes going on.

Radoras

ok, except...it was a fucking TURNEY, not a real battle? The whole point is to show off your skill within the rules & establish how good a knight you are, breaking the rules like that basically is like admiting "I suck so much, I have to sucker-punch the other guy to win"...plus it's needlessly cruel, what if another knight he jousts against goes "he's just gonna have me crushed by my horse if I play fair, better to "accidentally" stab his first before he pulls that shit on me" - once you violate the rules like that, you're fair game as well, that's the whole point of fighting "honourably".

Fiua Zimbe

He was good for the smallfolks, but too honorable for the high lords to respect when they get taxed heavy by Aegon. It's your decision if he is good or not up until he burned himself and Summerhall to bring dragons back into the world.

Riley

All these replies are capping and Targaryen glazers. They’re incesteous foreigners who are inclined to madness due to their inbreeding. Sure, crazy dream effect some of them, but that’s like one family member per generation. And Rhaenyra is not a “good” Targaryen. She’s as power-hungry as the rest of them and known in Westerosi history as a usurper and nicknamed “Maegor with tits”. Maegor was also a kinslayer (family murder) and a horrible ruler.

Riley

So you’d admit Rhaenyra is a worthless ruler? Finally. Her greed for the throne resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of commoners and her increased taxation led to the starvation of thousands in Kings Landing and the Crownlands.

Adrian Locke

Bro like 90% of the Targaryen dynasty is ass

Kingbrick

None of u are wrong, The Westeros’s people just don’t understand genetics properly guys. There are mad baby Targaryen and many more that died due to illnesses and possibly many more unknowns. It’s indeed all propaganda on all side of the Coin.

Myles

Such a lame trope. Season 6 was one of the best seasons of television in history.

PAM

@Bench Which is ironic because Jaehaerys II was neither. He was mediocre at best.

Mr. Toastman
