Between Duncan's extreme hesitation to knight Raymun and that ridiculous Arlan shrugging flashback where the man clearly doesn't know the oath...was Dunk ever actually knighted? He didn't seem to want to do it in the Ep. 1 flashback montage. (If this is plot significant or mentioned later don't bother telling me, but Arlan seemed at best unserious and at worst incompetent, so I've been thinking it for a while.) This show is so good, from the camera work to the editing choices. I can't believe we have to wait two more days.

Assuming they go with the really ambitious (alleged) plan of following Dunk & Egg's entire lives, we won't be learning that for quite some time lmao. I believe they've already filmed S2 and are filming / in pre-production for S3 to take advantage of Dexter's age before growth spurts, but the showrunner doesn't plan on recasting and would literally wait a decade at a time between filming breaks for them to get older.

For context, about why Aerion's assumption of treason might hold weight, the Blackfyre rebellion (a rebellion spearheaded by a bastard Targaryen) was less than 20 years before the start of this series. So they just got done having a civil war more or less so there are obviously people who didn't like the royal family, and the children of those who suffered because of the war.

I just realized it, but things are pretty messed up from Maeker's pov. Two of his sons went missing, he had to spend a whole night to find one drunk in an inn, but then found out the other one was "kidnapped" by some robber knight. Then he came back to the fort only to figure out that his son was there the whole time, and said "kidnapper" beat the shit out of his other son.

Maekar is Egg, Aerion, and Dareon's father, yes. (and Aemon, but he isn't here, but was mentioned) Valarr, who we saw in episode 2, I think, when Aerion was choosing who to joust, is Baelor's son, and he has dark hair, as does his father. And there are NO Blackfyres. They rebelled against the throne and are in exile at this point in time.

I doubt that Dunk didn't know the oath. It's not like it's a secret or anything, or something you'd only learn when being knighted. He even refers to it in his discussion with Baelor (about vowing to protect the innocent). More likely that he didn't feel right creating another knight when he didn't feel like a legitimate one himself because Arlan never dubbed him.

I have seen some people talk about the previous time the Trial of Seven had happened with Maegor the Cruel. Interesting fact, Maegor was a beast, as he was the only surviver of that one, and all thirteen others died. If I am not wrong, Maegor himself killed three or four.

I’m enjoying both. I have only seen 5 episodes long ago of Game of Thrones and never touched House of Dragon so that’s why I chose Wonder Man. But superhero stuff is a bit more exciting to me than watching medieval stuff. BUT surprisingly I’m enjoying this Dunk and Egg relationship/storyline.

I've also really liked how they play with it. It makes sense - GOT is an epic about the entire realm. Dunk is "just" a simple hedge knight. Saved the theme for an epic moment with a Prince of the Realm (and heir to it).

I prefer the idea that he wasn't knighted, or at least not properly. I find it compelling that he's one of the truest knights in terms of spirit, deeds, and intent, but perhaps not in tradition. He's far more honorable and a representative of what being a true knight is about than some of the traditional knights from "noble" houses

I believe I remember reading that some Targaryens have what are called "Dragon Dreams" which is what Daeron was talking about with his visions. You may remember that Helaena also had visions in House of the Dragon, and that would be another example of Dragon Dreams.

Yup! especially post dance of the dragons (hotd) a few targs are believed to have Dragon Dreams. Daenys the Dreamers is why the Targs even came to Westeros because she saw the Doom of Valyria. Book Helaena is never said to be a dreamer but Daeron is a confirmed Dreamer as well as Daenerys. We don't see it in GoT cuz they stripped back most of her magic but her dreams are how she figures out she can hatch the dragons.

It'll help alot when it comes to next episode when all you see are dudes in armour and helmets flailing around, especially in the quick shots you'll be able to understand what's happening and who's fighting easier.
