To answer your question sheera no the pink hair tensen isn't the mother to Mei. Remember Mei and Rien were the first two created and then the other tensen were made after. So if anything Mei is more like a big sister to the other tensen's.

15:16 This show has been amazing as a lover of the cultivator genres (wx/xx/xh). Glad to see it really shown here, especially the sayings "Cultivation is difficult" and "A mountain beyond mountain". The Tensen (except for Rein and Mei) seem like mad gods beyond comprehension to the others, yet they believe themselves to be stagnant failures that will never achieve the goals they set out to achieve but keep trying anyway for their belief in Jofuku (the sage who created them) who they see as a god, a sage who saw himself as imperfect and wanted to seek completion through immortality

To try and answer some questions on why Tamiya gouged out his eye since I was thinking the same thing at first, it would probably be harder for him if he did keep his left eye in this situation because then he would have to focus on keeping the eyelid shut while fighting and might've instinctively opened it without thinking.

The reason the Tensen switch between genders is so that they can maximize their Tao usage. Males and females have different properties when it comes to Tao so they choose which ones to use depending on the situation.

To answer Lupa's questions, yes. Just for a refresher, the stat boost is in the form of physical and tao based prowess, male forms female form respectively. Another reference for this power set would be Jordan Lee in Gen V.
