If I remember correctly, Ulrich actually *was* talking to Egon in his bedroom that one time (1986). The thing is that teen Ulrich hasn't time traveled yet, and Egon is dead by the time Ulrich is an adult, so there would be zero recognition of each other (at least on Egon's end) from the 1953 incident outside of the "I get a weird vibe" residual time travel stuff

okay, a few things. 1. in a show full of cheating and outlandish relationships, regina and aleksander are very cute. regina is making her way up there towards characters i like / feel the most for in this show. 2. katharina is such a shitty person and no one seems to be clocking it. 😭 i’m assuming that whatever home situation she had going on with her mom is what lead her to being a bully; but her, hannah, and ulrich are all not the best people. they all suck, honestly. 3. and lastly, aside from his way of being brought up (with his so clearly abusive mother + bullying from others), i don’t feel bad for helge. maybe once we delve more into how he got mixed up with noah i’ll feel differently, but as of now it’s like — well, aid in murder (child murder at that) & have bad things done unto you. 🤷🏽‍♀️ especially since all of this takes place in an enclosed time loop.

I mean of course the concept of this whole series is that there is no beginning or end but hadn’t Ulrich went on and traumatized this young kid and left him with permanent brain damage he wouldn’t have ever went on and let himself get manipulated by Noah and took part in the kidnappings and killings of the kids. So yeah it’s messed up, Ulrich thought he was gonna change the course of time but what he did then was actually what turned out to be necessary to happen in the first place for then all of the rest to follow, the kidnappings and messing with the time…

Then he gets brain Damage for something he didn't do. His childhood sucked. But just because you had a bad childhood doesn't mean your Adult actions are excused. That's my opinion on it.

see, but that’s the thing. i feel like last episode sort of conflicts with that thought process. with tannhaus posing the question of what comes first — the chicken or the egg ? it no longer matters. it all loops as one. that’s what i gathered from it, at least. and that’s why while gruesome, i understood why ulrich did what he did last ep. it was wild and i don’t know if i could’ve done it, but i understand why he did. technically as a child helge *did* already do what he’d done in the future. equally as much as him having that event done to him while young made him commit such actions when flashed forward. does that make sense ? lol. anyway, that’s not to say that i didn’t feel bad for what he went through, because i did. i’m just not sure it’s such a linear progression of events as your comment suggests.

Nah helge aint that bad, everything makes sense with everything he went through, you don't just beat a child half to death and then leave them to die without lasting effects and ability to be manipulated And kathrina aint that horrible, she had a troublesome youth but seemed to grow up and then mellow out with being a mother and a principle, but obvisouly losing her son and husband cheating will make anyone a crashout.

A nuclear power plant isn't something you inherit. Neither Helge nor Regina was ever going to take over a role like that. We have a reactor in my town. We make radiopharmaceuticals, not power, but all the same, working in the building is the pinnacle of merit-based hiring. Claudia earned the position by being extremely intelligent. Aleksandar takes over to protect the secret, but he's working alongside an array of nuclear physicists and engineers.

Nepotism is alive and well, it’s not far fetched to believe a person might inherit a position even though their credentials are lacking. I’m sure everything is as you say in your workplace, but nepotism is well documented. You can look into any sector of whatever country you live in and find traces of it. Also I have no idea what credentials aleksander have as an adult but we saw him as a metal worker when he started working at the power plant, now he’s the director. It’s not nepotism but it’s definitely a job he got because of his connection with Claudia meaning he lacks credentials. Of all the things I could question about this show, this is the least weird tbh

But then you start the issue of should someone be punished for a crime they didn't commit "Yet". Helge as a Kid did none of those things. While he was "weird" that isn't a crime. And Ulrics actions played a direct role in what Helge did. I can understand from his perspective on why he did it. But it's still wrong imo. You cant punish someone for a crime they didn't commit. But you are technically "right" cause time is so messed up here it kinda runs itself into a paradox. A lot of things just wouldn't exist without the actions Helge/Ulric commited. Some people wouldn't even exist. This show is so good lol
