FRIEREN FRIDAYS GONE AGAIN😭😭😭. Amazing season imo. Pretty much on par with the first. I have no complaints except for just one real criticism. S3 is announced for Fall 2027 and then we probably won’t get more for a while, since it’ll catch up to the manga! Very very hyped.

They kept alluding to Macht this season. We see him in a flashback Frieren has when the Hero of the South asks her if she knows about the Seven Sages, and then again in episode 9 when the Ferryman mentions the Golden Land, Frieren has the same flash back... We can safely assume Frieren met with this guy. Next arc gonna go crazy ;) - In the pursuit of "what Himmel would do" it's slowly becoming "It's what Frieren would do"

Next arc is the peak of frieren (for what the manga covers at least). Sad we're getting it next year, but it makes sense given the manga has been on hiatus for a while and will need some time to get ahead from the anime.

I'm fine with them taking their time on the Golden Land arc, since it's the last finished arc in the manga. The arc after that is unfinished because the writer and head artist are both dealing with extended health issues, so the manga is on indefinite hiatus.

No their are two smaller arcs after that. One that's demon centric and the other that is current manga arc related. So they could make a season 4 out of those 2 arcs or as add the demon centric arc to the end of this season

The next arc is where a lot of the shonentards will stop calling frieren boring. The story only picks up from here. Like the exam arc opened up the world of frieren. This arc and the 3 after keep up with that trend but on a bigger scale. This arc was the best one in frieren until the current manga arc with so many moving parts and characters

I think it was just the way the arcs fell, They didn't want to do a long season or just didn't have the resources. And now they have a standardish length season for the Golden Land arc

I also heard that the same team working on Frieren were working on the studio’s next movie, Ghost, so it was either a short season or the season being swapped over to a different team. I definitely prefer a shorter season, if Golden Land got botched that’d be the worst possible outcome lol

To my knowledge, nobody from Madhouse has explicitly stated why. But the manga has gone on hiatus repeatedly and is currently mid-hiatus in what could end up being the longest arc yet. So, I'm inclined to agree with the folks that assume that Madhouse decided it made sense to give themselves some buffer by adapting 1-2 arcs per season. It'll make for some odd season lengths, but from here it gives them 2-3 seasons worth of material (The Golden Land, Goddess's Monument, Imperial Territory Travels) before they have to start adapting the Foundation Festival arc.

5:32 it took about 90 years. The shows timeline starts right after himmel died and he dies 50 years after their adventure ends, and they spent 10 years on the adventure, so he took anywhere from 80 to 90 years after this.

I disagree tbh. The current arc is great but the Golden Land arc had not only amazing action, but also Macht who is arguably the most interesting antagonist in Frieren ever.

Some creatures are probably too much of a hassle to deal with and from what I’ve seen the northern plateu seems to be most warriors not mages so flying creatures are probably the most annoying thing to fight also from the sound of it frieren seemed to have showed up around the same time they laid their nests

Love this episode a ton. But I could not stop laughing at the stock monster roars straight out of Monster Hunter for the Birds and Wolf Lore. I heard that Yian Kut ku and Nargacuga sample IMMEDIATELY and was dying laughing. But wow. Such an amazing show, it is going to suuuuck waiting till next year for season 3. But I'm so excited!
