If you guys decide to watch Fate/Grand Order in the future This Is the Watch Order. 1. Fate/Grand Order - First Order (Movie can be found on Crunchyroll.) The first 5 chapters of the story after the prologue where not adapted. So if you get confused by the time jump that is why. But do not worry they will have flashbacks to any important dialogue you need to know. 2. Fate/Grand Order - Camelot - Wandering; Agateram; (These are two movies, but they are not on Crunchyroll yet so you will have to find them somewhere else. I literally had to torrent them because any of the sites that stream them have the absolute worst subtitles known to man.) 3. Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia (Make sure you watch episode 0 as well.) 4. Fate/Grand Order - Final Singularity - The Grand Temple of Time: Solomon (Its on the next page of Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, for some reason on Crunchyroll.) 5.Fate/Grand Order - Moonlight/Lostroom (You can skip this one as its only important if you play the game. Kotomine Kirei has a cameo in this one.)

Did... did you have this on notepad to put up as soon as they post? O.o

Anzor Wilson

Actually its from another comment I made else where I just copy pasted it and did a little editing.

King of New York

I loved this show and episode man. So many callbacks to Fate/Zero that made me happy because it’s my favorite of the Fate anime. Th 3 Kings scene is probably one of my favourite scenes in anime. Very interesting how they used that to inform Lionheart’s philosophy. Diabolical ending for Flat😭. Sawano killed the OST every episode. This is coming straight off the top of my head but I think the reveal at the end for Sigma was that his mom was Maiya from Fate/Zero. That was Kiritsugu’s assistant/lover who was killed. I remember that episode was sad as fuck too. I’m ready for more. Thank you A1 for cooking. Take as much time as you need🙏

UV

The sword came from his first noble phantasm which allows him to get help of other heroes.

Raymond Terry

Absolutely horrible parenting. Season 2 LFG, i'll wait.

weird flex a

Am I the only one who thinks the kid is Rin and Shirous child? He looks like them both in the end

BZD

A cool reference by Richard to the Fate Route of Fate/Stay Night Shirou who reached Avalon.

homura

Sigma's mother who was shown twice here is Maiya from Fate/Zero, she was Kiritsugu's assistant. She had Sigma back when she was still a child soldier before Kiritsugu adopted her. The family she mentioned to Irisveil in Fate/Zero was him, in the Fate/Zero Novel they start relating over having gone through childbirth and stuff but that was cut from the Zero anime.

Xemnas27

Damn Richard can’t stop glazing Saber’s lips bro I swear 😭

Jamie See

The official twitter/x account made a post with an image and to be continued in the top corner. I guess we will have to wait and see if and when they announce cour 2/ season 2 whatever it's going to be called.

Rob Pait

Nah, he's Maya from Fate Zero's kid. Kiritusugu's assistant. He flashedback to her face as they came out of dream world, and she fits the discription of his mother being an assistant to a mercenary during the holy grail war.

AkkhilesCosmos45

I loved the season, but I really hate the cliffhanger they leave us on lol. Personally I understand if people didn't think this season was as good as the others like Stay Night and Zero because it was more like a very long introduction since it technically was a prelude. All of the very big, heavy handed stuff comes in the mid of the part just like any story, it just takes a long time to get there. Fortunately, the novel will be wrapped up this summer so I'm hoping they already started working on the next season like in JJK so it releases early january. Anyways for some explanation on this episode: -Van Fem is a dead apostle ancestor, which basically means he's amongst the top of the vampire hierarchy. He's tied to Flat's backstory so it'll be explained in future episodes. He's the closest thing Jester has to a 'boss' which is why he freaked out. It's like if the CEO of your company happened to find out you were doing some weird shit. -When Richard summoned a sword, he basically called it from his noble phantasm. If you recall, one of his NPs allow him to bring his companions as 'shadows' who can operate independently of him. One of them tossed him a sword. -Reason Richard got more powerful was because he now had a proper connection with Ayaka, who was basically on the fence about being his master for the whole season. It's why he's giving off a more impressive showing this time around because he has a proper path to draw energy from. -Also this isn't really a spoiler, more of a fun trivia thing if you know other material, but the reason Tsubaki was able to summon an entity associated with death was due to the bacteria that her parents infected her with. It's not ordinary bacteria, but literal god bacteria. As in, it was bacteria that came from space, crashed in mesoamerica, and became the gods of the Aztec, Mayan, and other associated mythologies. So yeah, just like how the ancient Greek gods were mecha aliens from another universe, the gods of america are just as wack.

PEAK SEASON

_monjiro

Is the Studio Deen version worth the watch, Or should i just read the VN or manga (if theres an adaptation)? Also im assuming I will understand the reference if I watch/read the route?

submergeclips

is stigma the kid of Kiritsugu and that one mercenary girl he was with in fate zero

Unknown

A crazy Vampire boss that appeared this episode was celebrating Flat’s death as as if he couldn’t do it himself is crazy to me. Was Flats a huge problem?

BZD

I wouldn’t say Kiritsugu adopted her. More like took her in and employed her.

BZD

The anime is alright. I watched it before I watched UBW so I didn’t really have a problem. I’d say it’s more stylistic than the other versions of fate. And while the animations may be a bit out of date, everything is drawn pretty beautifully. I’d recommend the anime sure. But as for the reference, it’s actually only something you can get from the VN. For some reason Deen never adapted the last scene. Ufotable adapted the last scene but it was restricted to some sort of exhibit only in Japan. There’s a fan made animation of the last scene though.

BZD

Just so you know, it’s only been 5 years, in universe, since Rin and Shirou participated in their Holy Grail war. They are about 23. It can’t be there kid.

BZD

If only all history was taught through Fate.

DocGreen

Also depending on the route/timeline it might be one where Rin and shirou aren't even together. All we know is that zero is cannon in this timeline but if you catch that reference it hints at being the stay night route where saber beat Gilgamesh and she went back to Avalon waiting for shirou to reach her

Isaac

Damn Flat got lite the fuck up. Poor guy. He was just out here making friends. Can't wait to see the rest of this shit in 10 years time when they go back to doing that stupid 1 ep a year crap.

Isaac

Question for the REAL type moon geeks: who was that on speaker phone with Flat that had Waver shook? I missed who that was suppose to be.

The Dude

Not Kiritsugu’s but yeah he is Maya’s kid.

del

No. The merc girl is his mom, but his dad is some random solider that raped her long before she met Kiritsugu.

del

Van Fem. One of the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors. Basically vampire royalty. You can think of him as Jester’s manager / dad / king. And Van Fem only showed up as fan service, we’ll probably never see him again in Strange Fake lol.

Teejay

I never thought I would hate an anime parent this much

windyyy1121

Hope you guys watch Fate/Grand order 👍

Elfaria

Love is you guys could check out Fate/Grand Order Babylonia. It's an incredible fate series and more insight on Gil and Enkidu

Zeke

Not quite. He referred to Flat as the descendant of his old neighbour. In other words, Van-Fem is friends with one of Flat's ancestors from ages ago, who apparently did something which Van-Fem is now congratulating him for after Flat died.

SonOfMan

Definitely dont try FGO like some people are recommending. You'll be even more confused than FSF was lmao

Fernando Perez

Yeah. I myself am going through the game itself now and am almost at Babylon, but I can imagine the anime would probably be super weird for them to get into if they know absolutely nothing about Grand Order prior to watching.

Taylor

If the time could ever be found watching fate grand order Babylonia while not necessary might help with the backstory and whos who with some of the characters characters from sumerian mythology like gilgameah and endiku

Coatl45

Because he was an absurdly talented mage and incomprehensible magecraft just happened around him.

Coatl45

I first, I thought that Van-Fem was sarcastically saying “fuck you in particular” to Faldeus, by “congratulating” him as he had his subordinates slaughtered. But now I can see that he was congratulating his buddy on a successfully completed experiment. Which begs two questions: 1) What kind of experiment would a vampire lord have that much interest in. And 2) Who, and what really killed those snipers?

sol jam

Wow I watched Lord El-Melloi II so I had a connection to Flat before watching the show and that's how they do him? wow

sol jam

WOW good catch!

Jazko Exclusive

There’s always kids getting brutally abused in every Fate tv show/movie😭😭

Jazko Exclusive

Why everyone wants them to watch Grand Order? I heard Apocrypha was a great watch and also it’s pretty self contained

Danny

Its Shou Tucker all over again

Danny

Were they referencing to Shirou when they mentioned the mercenary and hero? How a hero will always choose the path that saves the world even if it means sacrificing a child. Rather, I mean Archer

Michael Kaiser

I need A-1 studio to work on ALL fate series now going forward fuck Ufotable

Arsean Wilbon

Sheera be funny as hell when ol boy was like "Can it be?" she gonna go "yep" like she knew who this newly introduced vampire was lmao

s

oh shit

Polygon

Her Sheeragan let her watch Lord el-Melloi’s Case Files, trust 😂

Yehaen

It starts in the middle of the story, they would have 0 context on what's going on.

Yehaen

If you want more on Flat, adult Waver, the clock tower and the more magical side of Fate with some mystery, Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files is a good watch

Rob Pait

Nah, he's Maya from Fate Zero's kid. Kiritusugu's assistant. He flashedback to her face as they came out of dream world, and she fits the discription of his mother being an assistant to a mercenary during the holy grail war.

Requiem_Phantom

Honestly, all the Fate series are good in their own way, some better than others, but all good watches.

Danny

Ohh the kid was a merc too. When the apostle was talking about how "A hero would sacrifice the girl because that will bring salvation to the world" it reminded me of Archer or Kiritsugu's ideology

Isaac

I think she thought it was Waver talking when that was happening til it panned in on his face.

Michael Kaiser

Ahahahaha your right but idk man something about this art style it’s so much more creative nd much more you can do with it compared to ufotable mid ugly art style imo

Mike A

I am genuinely shocked they did Flat like that. Dude had main character energy. Really liked this season, even if I had to read the essays in the comments to understand half of what was going on lol

Isaac

As much as I'd love for the Roshigang to react to Fate/Grand Order : Babylonia ... I just have no faith in it. I mean, it'd be nice because the characters are great ( except Mash, i hate her ) and the animations are amazing but the need to explain things because of Fate Grand Order having an entirely different over arching plot plus the plot that is happening in the anime is just a hassle at this point. They'd have to watch the two FGO movies ( the boring asf one about Mash and the First Singularity which is pretty ok ) first before touching Babylonia to get the base understanding on what's going on.

lackingnames

id rather have ufotable's 10x better animation though

Michael Kaiser

I respect your opinion but to me ufotable animation just feels flashy nd nothing else too it this on the other hand you can play with it how ever you want like in this ep or ep 6 which was my personal favourite

sip

i mean if you make certain allowances regarding what they overall mission is, a lot of babylonia (and the singularities in general) turns out to be self contained, so imo it should turn out to be enjoyable anyway

sip

because the babylonia adaptation is ridiculously good tbh

del

He pops up here and there. His biggest role is in the Adventures of Lord El-Melloi books. He runs a casino on his super yacht docked in Monaco. His games are nearly impossible to win. Van Fem asks Waver to track down one person who actually managed to win but refused the prize… Shirou lol.

Tbdovan

Ufotable feels flashy because of the art style, they are. Both very flashy in their own ways lol. Literally can barely see what's happening when everyone starts firing off abilities in this.

SonOfMan

There was a shirou reference but not that

Abensur

I’m ngl I really fucking hope that’s a fake out with Flat I really liked his character that’s such a fucjed way to end him

Asher Ealey

I don’t know about shirou. But I do think it was a reference to Kiritsugu

Asher Ealey

14:53 There is only one explanation…. He became the bone of his sword 😂😂

GJ

Ufotable doesn’t have better animation. They have better composition which is something they focus on way to much imo that it ends up hurting the final product. For the infinity castle movie they got freelancers to do cuts which they never do and those freelancers released the genga they submitted but in the final product their work was heavily watered down due to the heavy composition. The problem with ufotable is they need a really good schedule to truly shine like s2 of demon slayer had all the stars aligned for a insane production but the seasons after suffered due to the schedule and yearly release. I think the large time between movies will give them time to truly shine. But pure cut wise a1 has a better product animation wise thanks to gather basically every big shot animator in the industry to do cuts. Ufotable is entirely full house and their best animator doesn’t always have his schedule align with the production. So I think for a weekly anime like this id rather have a1.

GJ

They focus heavily on composition which ends up watering down the actual cuts fluidity. They have good animators but them being full house which means no freelancers and focusing way to much of presentation really has harmed their work recently.

meguminis.

The Camelot movies were pretty good and I agree those subtitles are atrocious. I fear whoever did them, not only they don't have a grasp of english but also put it on a translator. Babylonia was the best out of them.

Offw0rlder

IKYFL I’m calling cap & not returning to this comment section ain’t no way boah

blud

WAHT THE FUCK WHY DID THEY DO FLAT LIKE THAT?! I GENUINELY THOUGHT BRO WAS THE SECOND MAIN CHARACTER WHAT IN THE BOMBACLAT THEY STARTED THIS COUR WITH FLAT AND ENDED THIS GOTDAMN COUR WITH FLAT FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Noson

Every Excalibur he releases is mixed with a lions roar
