Same way his rubella stops ulrich having sex with katharina making him feel unfulfilled. This is a theory. I love this episode. Seeing how they all were before mikkel disappeared, what happened that summer between Martha and Jonas that she kept bringing up, why Michael hanged himself. And I think this is when Hannah and Ulrichs affair actually began. She's always wanted him and made her move but really its because Michael turned her down that morning.

I'm with Lupa on the Marta/Jonas thing! They're kids, they're in love, and Jonas believes he's about to go and erase himself anyway. Honestly, I wouldn't have a child with someone I was related to, but if the love of my life were actually my aunt (or cousin or whatever) because of some time-travel paradox, I'd say fuck it and still have a relationship. A parent or child is different because there is already an emotional relationship. Emotionally, Marta is his neighbor, not his aunt.

This episode highlights how complex human relationships are. Not everything is going to be clean and direct, everything is situational. Hannah liked Mikkel but she was desperate and Ulrich was showing his interest clearly, Mikkel knew his son would drag him to another time line but he still loved him, Jonas knew Martha is his aunt but he loved her before he knew that and his love to her is what kept him going and finally Peter is gay and he wants to be with a person with a dick but he wants to keep his family so he lies to Charlotte who is only with him to keep the family together but it's clealrly not working even though they are resisting the facts. We humans can't run away from what we are and what we love.

I have to say, the Jonas and Martha thing is becoming weirder the longer it goes on. Last episode, Jonas was older but not Martha in the sex dream and for this episode he kisses her KNOWING what he knows. I don't fully blame Martha, because as of right now she doesn't know that's her nephew, but Jonas fully knows that he is kissing his aunt. I literally screamed at my tv "Ewww get off of her!" when they were kissing, like please bro stop this shit. Also, I've seen people (not particularly patrons, but people on the internet in general) comparing this to Dany and Jon and I'd just like to point out, that was weird also! But the only thing I will say that didn't make it as weird as this is that Dany and Jon didn't know they were related when they hooked up and even when Jon found out he was weirded out about fucking around with his aunt. IMO it makes more sense that Ulrich and Hannah’s actual affair only began on the anniversary but there was sexual tension beforehand. Michael is constantly at home so Ulrich can’t just come over and the Nielsons have a full house. There was enough time between Michael’s death and episode 1 (like a year) for the affair to be in full swing.

To be fair, I can kinda sympathise with Jonas here (not that I'm excusing the incest of course) I mean, with all with the family and time travel shit he's going through in an incredibly short amount of time (his father's suicide, he can't save Mikkel without unexisting himself, has seen the past and the future, know's his mom is meesed up, finding out he becomes an evil villain etc etc), I can sorta see why he can't remain fully rational or level-headed right now.
