One thing I always find funny to think about is how at this point everyone just agrees to follow Subaru's orders and trust his "instincts" because they don't even bother questioning how he knows the best path. Like "Oh Subaru's tweaking again something bad is coming or Subaru says left right must be death you got it."

There's the assumption that when Ram halved Anastasia with her wind magic, the Echidna coat was killed and forcibly pulled Anastasia out of her comatose state. So the one screaming while holding Subaru was actually Anastasia. There are debates that it is not the case, but i feel the studio went for this, hence why Anastasia had the pain and desperation on her face, clinging to Subaru. I would feel the same if i were to wake up and miss half of my body. Also they've cut alot of the centaur fight. To put it simply, the centaur is blind and has no sense of smell so it follows only by hearing. That's why he fireballed the bear first cause it created louder noise than Subaru. The cry it did with soundwave effects is actually echolocation. This is also why Subaru and co didn't yell or call for each other, just doing hand signs and what not. In the novel this fight was longer because of this aspect, with subaru creating noise distractions and what not, but the outcome is the same.

In the webnovel he got burned alive. Extraordinarily gruesome and descreptive even for re:zero he had his eyes melted a time or 2 or 3.... He had no help the first few goes. He died a couple times before ths, those were all as horrible as the rabbits in my opinion - worse even If he didn't bring up or panic about Rem she would get mad and if he did Ram would still get mad.

One thing I think is cool, and I don't remember if this is shown as a thought process in the novels, but after Subaru sees the bear get blasted he thinks for a moment and then starts running sideways to prevent the same thing from happening to him if he kept running away. Just a cool little tactical moment.

I think we did have a scene and it was actually Ram funny enough. In S2 iirc she talked about how he's the "guy whose always there at the right time". So at least Subaru has earned her trust in being reliable when it counts.

Kinda wish Subari had more of a horrified reaction at literally trying to kill his best friends and dying to his pet. Everything else is perfectly executed, but his ability to just recover from shit like this is starting to feel like false pay-off. I haven't seen anyone else talking about the sand animation, but I thought it was fire too. It's 3D animation done very tastefully. It must be some kind of physics sim they used for it to deform like that, and you see particles of sand scatter when he lifts his foot too.

This episode was horrifying to watch. Seeing everyone be so callous, two faced and bloodthirsty with each other made me viscerally uncomfortable than anything else in anime. I know Lupa is going to be traumatized by what Patrasche is about to do. Ram getting stabbed, Ana and Subaru going for the handshake as he's preparing to choke her out...Ana getting bisected and pleading not to die. This fucked me up man :c

Fun fact Anastasia after being chopped in half was actually her, the spirit wasn't in control anymore as she had died when she was cut in half which is also kinda expressed when the coat fell of (the spirit is the coat) and so her begging is actually Anastasia waking up and realizing shes cut in half. That's why shes completely flips from before that
