Watch the conversation between Jim and Ethan again, before Jim tells Ethan about the lake of tears he looks around as if there were people around him telling him to tell Ethan about the lake of tears as quick as possible or to just wrap it up quickly. I think souls of the dead can't leave and they also want to escape. The paranormal stuff that happened last episode to Tabitha and her family I think it was probably Jim crashing out like he does to let them know about that. The boy in white used to talk directly to the leader and tell him about the secrets of this place but he stopped because people figuring it out by themselves has been working better so far so probably the souls of the dead used to interfere more in the past like the boy in white but they learned tha the living don't take that news easily.

Look again at the reaction of Sophia(man in yellow) when it sees the Ballerina, it jump scared when it saw it, that monster was probably an outsider and not part of the design of this place and since it's also supernatural it probably used to kill them too after it kills the humans or it competes with them and maybe that's why it was locked in that dungeon in another dimension. Maybe when the Ballerina monster died its power got distributed to Julie, Kristie and Randall

In her defense, she never got the treatment the others did when they first came here. This episode is basically her start of the From tutorial. She shot that girl on accident, if you were in her shoes, surrounded by those things, you would start blasting too. Remember, we all hated Sara in season 1, we all hated Randall in season 2 and look at where their characters are now, actually likable. Let the show cook, Acosta might become one of the goats like Jade or Victor.

I rewatched S2E9 where Jim and co. are in the RV overnight and future Julie is supposed to yell at him "Dad!!" hoping to hear it in the background. She actually yelled twice. There was no scream. Either the writers are making shit up as they go season-by-season or she can't "interact" with the past unless such interaction does NOT change the future. In this case might be a bit of both. She was able to interact with the monster that tried to kill her in the past and by having a conversation with the Man in Yellow. In both times the past didn't change, she was not killed by the monster and the Man in Yellow successfully killed Jim. I guess we'll see how this season wraps up. BTW, Tabitha's actress and Ethan's actor didn't do a good job these last 2 episodes. I hope they get better.

So Julie decided to ONLY tell and bring Randall to the ruins, when he’s the only other one in town that gets seizures and stuck in hell jail like her at that spot. If one or both of them got clapped they’d be beyond screwed since they told literally nobody else. Last season she pulled this shit and she only brought along her literal 6 year old brother, again, telling nobody else where tf they were going. France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Greece. All tend to have 2 faucets. So no, not every modern construction will have 1 faucet. Because majority of them have 2. One hot, one cold. I feel like they keep bringing up how items that are precious to people are what carry their memories. Like how in the caves the monsters keep peoples important items and they took them with them when they moved base, also the boy in white told Victor to take the important items from the people who died and bury them, and now we see that all these items from people in the past are in the store room, including that old bracelet tabitha found that is her own. Maybe these important items are what keep them locked in or they store peoples memories inside and as long as they are in the town then those people are tied to the town and their fears can be used to make monsters based on those fears like Saras brothers fear of cicadas

One scene debunks that, season 2 one of the first two episodes. Two people from the bus hid out in the bar where none of the townsfolk lived, the monsters still had to knock, those two had zero clue about the talismans or the monsters cause it's their first time there and they haven't had "the talk", if the talismans truly were fake, the monsters had no reason to still knock on the door for the newly couple who had zero knowledge of this place. Therefore, I think they work, there are things here that help the people against the monsters, The Boy in White, The Anghkooey Kids, Julie's ability to story walk. The talismans can't just mean nothing, they were clearly made by someone, in that clearly built talisman hut out in the forest.
