I'm only 2 minutes in but because I was shouting this at the end of last episode, I have to say it - our Jonas dying in Eva's world makes no sense because then who gets older and becomes Adam? So the episode starting with Older Jonas not meeting Young-Eva makes total sense because he's the one that becomes Adam. Eva must have decided that killing Jonas there was the solution to ending the war, altering us into an entirely new chain of events that neither she nor Adam have seen before, essentially creating a new timeline outside of the two timelines.

They made a second series called 1899 that only got 1 season before being cancelled. Honestly it feels like all of us are discovering Dark a little too late, because had I known it was this good I would have definitely watched 1899 while it was active.

I don't think they're as restricted by the cycle in eachother's universes. Remember the Adult!Jonas that will become Adam didn't know Alt!Martha at all. He explicitly says that he never universe hopped. I think once they do jump worlds, the cycle is no longer fixed. That the possibility of multiple timelines happens. Additionally, I'm pretty sure that the Martha that Adam held hostage is different from who will become Eva. Her hair is shorter and she doesn't have the long scar on her face.

This episode was a LOT in the first watch and is still a lot in the second but it still manages to give us a beautiful resolution. I would rather the show takes its time wrapping up every loose thread than what The Boys season 5 is doing

Why do I feel like Adam doing this is just going to start everything from the beginning again? So many characters keep repeating nothing changes even with tiny adjustments to 'variables' but its as if they think that fact doesn't apply to themselves too. I'm really looking forward to seeing how everything ends. I can't believe there's only two eps left, I plan to do a rewatch immediately after lol.

Eva is a matchmaker across time? No way she sent old Egon to send adult Hannah back in time to fuck his younger form, and Adult Noah delivered child bride Elisabeth to teen Noah. Nasty business, imo.

I do like how they're showing us the cult dynamics. In the context of the show Noah can't save Peter because the loop must be maintained until Adam can destroy it, but it's very cultish behaviour to knowingly let Elisabeth have the most traumatic experience of her life so she could come and join/eventually lead Sic Mundus in 2053. Of course, Noah was raised in this cult so he thinks it's all fine.

I think this episode Eva explains (drawing the infinity in the sand) that the cycle is actually 2 timelines, each one causing the other, one where Jonas is saved by alt. Marta and one where he isn't. So timeline 1 happens, both apocalypses happen, characters meddle with the past, causing the past to develop into timeline 2, both apocalypses happen, characters meddle with the past, causing the past to develop into timeline 1. ad infinitum.I think...
