If you want Will to achieve his endgame goal of being with Elfie, then he should go to ice faction, but if you want him to actually get stronger for whatever is beyond the barrier, then he's better off getting kidnapped by Zeo.

I do agree the best option would be for him to join Zoe’s faction just not the ice faction. It would just cause a lot internal strife and no one would be acknowledging Will if doesn’t ascend himself to the tip top on his own (obviously he has proven so much but it’s the truth in this world). And also I just think Elfaria still needs to grow a bit before she making decisions like regardless of her status she is still a child. No one says you can’t still hangout just be relaxed about it.
