RH NULL is definitely a blood type its the rarest blood type there is. My mom has the other rare blood type RH negative. RH null is something about lacking all 50 of the Rh antigens where RH negative you only lack one. The relationship between Gabrielle and Lestat is sexual abuse of a child by their parent. Evidence of that being when Gabi was being VERY inappropriate with him in the flashback after he killed the Wolves and the maids reaction to it to showcase how wrong it is, BUT ,Lestat is also not wrong that as Vampires, they do not hold the same morals and don't look down upon such things, because remember back in S2 the Paris flashbacks with the Theatre De Vampire had a father and son Vampire duo that had a threesome with Armand. All that being said, their scenes are uncomfortable to watch, as they are meant to be, but it is needed to fully understand Lestat as a character and how he so highly values and equates sexual desirability to being loved.

First time when he succesfully managed to ragebait Lestat with Lemuel but couldn’t resist asking him whether he was fucking Christine, second time when he lied to Daniel's face about not knowing what it feels like to feel your maker despite describing the vampire bond at great lengths in s1 🥴 The vocals on Why Do I have to feel are insaneeeeeee The parallel between the Alderman’s death scene in s1 and the Lioncourt’s one in this episode was great and is very fucked up. I wasn’t initially on board with the decision to make Lestat kill his family but the fact that it’s essentially part of Gabrielle’s grooming process as well with Lestat feeling so much guilt over it to this day is sooooooo fucked up and so good 💔 Will we see Lestat buying his orphaned nieces and nephews gifts out of guilt in Paris? Makers are not able to do any telepathic anything with their fledglings. They can't send them any messages mentally. It's a complete blank both ways. This is an important aspect of vampirism that becomes a source of tension and conflict for a LOT of relationships in the books. In fact the show invented the whole "feeling each other/vampire bond" stuff which bends the lore in ways that may become difficult to write themselves out of later but we'll see how they handle it.

It definitely was a bit underwhelming. The gothic snowy mountain, the flail, the touch and go chase. I'm hoping we revisit it in a later episode to explore it again but we'll see.

The point of the incest here isn’t to fetishize or sexualize it, it’s to explain why lestat is the way he is, like he said at the beginning of the episode. It’s abuse, and they established the lopsided power dynamic in ep 1. Lestat frequently is in denial of it in the voice over, but through the episode he teeters back and forth with trying to establish boundaries starting with when she brought up the sex and he visibly looked uncomfortable(when they were sitting down and he said he wanted their relationship to be platonic, which she called bullshit) and trying to reason with himself that when she breaches his boundaries, it’s ok because he’s still getting “love” the narrative style isn’t putting it in to just have it or fetishize it, but takes you through the perspective of a victim that’s dissociating and reasoning with themselves and others on what’s happening. Which he’s even nervous when Daniel asks who she is. This show has always showcased various forms of abuse and their perspective from victims of it, where lestat greatly tries to mask and overshadow the severity of the events happening to him

Definitely wouldn't consider it normalization in this particular case. As an survivor of mother-daughter inc3st myself, I am glad anytime there is a legitimate look at how horribly damaging inc3st by a mother can be. You still see people say "well it's not that bad" and "it could have been worse" regarding SA by a mother. When I started therapy over a decade ago it was still "sexual abuse by a mother is rare", now people actually at least talk about it more. And stuff like this where people actively call out how problematic the dynamics are is what helps a lot of people heal. You'd be surprised how many people don't think what they went through is actually inc3st because it's never talked about and they never knew anything else "I thought all moms did that during bath time" type ish.
