Poll for this week! Obsession and Furious are not yet on digital but there will be NO POLL when those movies drop lol. Automatic coverage.

Please remember that just because a movie is excellent/critically acclaimed that doesn't make it REACTION MATERIAL! We like to enhance the watch experience with our personalities so want to cover material that compliments that! For example I love "No Country for Old Men" but would never recommend that for a reaction. Sometimes the most corny, silly movies end up being the most fun to cover and provide the most entertainment. Obviously theres a limit and we would never watch anything absolutely horrible but just making this point so you can understand lol.

One last thing, Roshi if you haven’t seen The Harder They Fall, that movie is absolute cinema 🙌🏼 Everything about it, the music, the camera angles, the cinematography went crazy. Seal’s brother was cooking 🔥 Probably one of the few films I come back to rewatch from time to time Even if it doesn’t end up a reaction, I recommend that movie to anybody whenever it comes up

A lot of the criticism I see is that the story is simple or the movies are long, and that’s legit fair criticism. But the absolutely terrible dog shit movie that people are trying to make it out to be is not true😂 Not every movie gotta be some super complex plot twist. Sometimes it’s just about getting immersed in the world, and experiencing the journey. Avatar does a really good job of making Pandora feel alive, and that’s a big part of why so many people like it. Or me personally, but I do get why people don’t like it.

I don't even hate it. Admittedly, way back when the OG dropped, I was pretty fixated on it. But there's the basic thing of it essentially being Pocahontas (which has its own issues, but I digress) but blue people, and then aside from that they're long as hell as you said and -- personally, for me -- don't have enough variation in the sequels for replay value or a dedicated watch. Pretty much three movies (or two, excluding the original) in different fonts. It's also extremely atmospheric and technically well made, but I feel like there's going to be long stretches of time where the reaction potential is just "hey, look at the pretty environment".

That’s what I’m saying. I get not liking Avatar, everybody’s gonna have different tastes in movies. But some of these comments acting like it’s the worst movie ever made is funny to me😂. And the people calling it “slop” is insane when you can literally see the amount of effort put into the visuals, the world building, and overall experience. Is it hella long? Yeah. Is the story pretty simple? Sure. But it’s not slop by any means. Morbius is slop. Madame Web is slop. The Last Airbender(2010) is slop. You can think Avatar is overrated, but acting like it’s complete garbage when millions of people clearly enjoy it just feels forced to me. But no matter what movie wins, it’s gonna be people in the comments crying and complaining no matter what 🤷🏽‍♂️

Have you not seen dances with wolves??? Why would you ask where are the wolves? How is that relevant? It's a film about a soldier going native. Even James Cameron acknowledged it. He wrote the story after Dances with Wolves came out. It's a joke man, and it's not even as honest as Films like Last Man standing and A Fistful of Dollars in their copying of Yojimbo. The Avatar films looked pretty, not a lot going for them outside of that. What I wish James acknowledged along with many others is that sometimes a film just doesn't need a sequel. But they sell, so instead of interesting new stories we continue to get unnecessary franchises that beat a story to death until they stop making money.

The storyline is the same lol. It's a standard white savior plot and the only difference in the overall plot is the ending was happy. Soldier is stationed way out in the middle of nowhere, begins communicating with the locals, gains their trust while experiencing their culture and getting close to the chief's daughter, then the full brunt of the colonial invasion hits and he has to choose sides, only in avatar there's a happy ending and a big cinematic battle, in Dances with wolves the natives go off into the mountains having been run off their land. It's the same basic plot. It's a pretty movie, but there's nothing incredible about the writing.
