Zeo has cemented his spot as top 10 anime characters for me. He gives a mix Kaido from OP and Buddha from ROR. He just dgaf but he's willing to hold true to his own convictions and philosophy. Him wanting to allow the Dwarves in the Tower and willing to fight Old King Aaron over it and later learning in the bumper that he was humble enough to learn combat from Dwarves made him so much more likeable.

Elfie really is a genius at spellcraft to have created so many damn useful amazing spells starting from childhood all of them created before she even joined the tower. Not to mention shes still academy/will's age. But Zeo is praxis incarnte. With this fight its obvious no one else is a master of combat like him, and Will joining him would be for the best since Will only could earn points in the academy through praxis/paper tests. Especially if he gets to absorb all the lightning spells and can reload them when he needs them. Man Will's speed about to get even faster.

Keep in mind that Elfaria is only 16 doing all this against Zeo who's in his early 20's. Her potential is insane. Also, if you notice the eyecatch, it says that Zeo learned fighting tactics from the dwarves. so he knows how valuable they can be in the tower. Also, Sarissa (Elfaria's assistant) was actually the candidate to become one of the magia vander out of the ice faction but, things changed when Elfaria came into the picture.

Honestly yea, he should definitely train with Zeo. I'm predicting that he'll probably end up training with all the other factions too, since he can use all forms of magic, so he'll see Elfaria at some point. His ice magic is already pretty nice, so he probably doesn't need as much practice compared with the rest
