Carlos

Lestat writing a song from his abuser's POV and it being presented as a cheesy ass pop music video was wild lmao. And at this point let's just make Jacob Anderson into Blade. Dude got so damn efficient at Vampire killing.

kiki

My show is onnn

aerie

has to be my fav episode from tvl so far

Parlay miles

Konnichwagwan my croskiiii lmao

Amanda

LFGGGGG

KomodoughDragon

Same! I also think it has the best music out of the already-aired episodes

PetersThimble

The parallel between Claudia's SA and Lestat's being forcibly turned makes it so much worse that he was accused of threatening her with assault in the book. No wonder he was mad at hell since it's clear a forced turn is comparable to rape. Edit: ngl some of you watch the show with your ears and eyes closed bc you cannot fathom Louis doing bad things or being selfish, even though thats what he's said abt himself and we've seen as fact. Its NOT a fact that the train scene happened the way Louis stated. Its Louis' statement that it did and he wasnt there? At that point in Louis' story, Lestat was the villain so he portrayed him awfully - That does not mean it happened. Everyone in this show lies to some extent but its clear that part deeply hurt him (as shown by the "DID NOT FUCKING HAPPEN" across the book) and we can see why now. Not responding to anymore comments - yall cannot understand the nuance of the show and just want a villain so you picked Lestat lmao

KomodoughDragon

I'm really frustrated with Gabriella's character. Even putting aside her differences from the book (which is a major source of frustration), she seems to exist only as a plot device to frame Lestat's trauma. She is needy and attention-seeking and even when she is not directly touching Lestat she is still finding a way to assault him (through Jarda in this case, which is made worse knowing Magnus kept lookalikes of Lestat, so not only is this a form of sexual assault, it's also twisting the knife on his existing trauma). The scenes interspersing Claudia's trauma and Lestat's were very well-executed. It's awful and horrible but so effective, and it doesn't feel exploitative which is what I was initially a bit concerned about when I heard we were going back to get revenge on Bruce. Overall my favourite episode this season. Also I liked the music this episode the best. I have more thoughts but I'd end up writing another 200 words so I'll leave it there.

LeFlaneur

This episode messed me up.

SakuraBlossom

Wheeeeen tf did Louis learn the Cloud Gift is the question lol.

Saphthings

Gosh as a male survivor... this was a hard watch... I'm still emotionally rattled and dizzy... It's funny because I thought, "I wish there was some warning for this" and then I remember that WAS a warning. For some reason those warnings never really affect me, maybe because it's not often a male victim as well? But I think more that it's because this one did it so... true... not just the trauma, but the shame, and the guilt. This was hard.

Saphthings

I do have to say that sometimes I'm surprised I'm feeling bad for Lestat when I remember that he just mocked and killed a newlywed couple in the beginning of the episode x_X Like why am I becoming desensitized to it haha

llvnue

Lestat’s actor Sam Reid actually did a one time show in New York where he sang these songs while performing fully in character. The scenes where Lestat is singing in the show were also him singing live! Such an incredible actor.

Laylay

Letsss gooooo!!!

ultraviolet

i know y’all finna come for me for this but…. if i was claudia i would be livid if louis took my most vulnerable, heartbreaking thoughts and read it the man who abused me, the one person in the world i may have never wanted to hear them in the first place. i completely understand what he was trying to do but still idk it low key feels like a violation in a way. giving daniel her diaries to read for the book like it feels kinda icky

Cydney claire

Bruce didn’t stick a pencil in Claudia’s spine, Claudia was relating cracking open a diary’s spine and shoving a pencil inside of it to Bruce breaking her spine and sexually assaulting her repeatedly, which was paired over lestats assault to show that he was r*ped repeatedly before his turning 😭💔

Trae Young Supremacist

i need lestat to play a version of the joker. that fake cry laugh scene was crazy

GrandNubian

and Sam Reid is actually singing them

SakuraBlossom

Proud of Lestat putting that boundary up with his mom. Looks like he’s trying to find his footing outside of any relationship which is what I was hoping for both him and Louis at the end of IWTV

SakuraBlossom

For sure. Loved the writing and editing. The music was great as well

Tyler

lestat actually did a concert in real life and performed the soundtrack for this season. sam reid is goated

Sam

You will be missed Nicki 😔

Rai

Yyeess and I think it was in the after show where Jacob Anderson said he also disagreed with Louis reading the pages because they were truly for Claudias eyes only

N

crazy good episode, i’m excited for armand and Daniel

2026-10-05 14:00 lol since y’all forgot, this is not the first time we’ve seen Nicky. He was in the second season when Armand and the coven fed on him, and he was mentioned in the first. It was he who founded the ‘Theatre de Vampires’ and came up with the idea of vampires feeding on stage. Oh and the bride was Baby Jenks from episode 1

kiki

Three episodes in and we got Lestat going through psychosis, Daniel fumbling the interview, Louis on a grief spiral moving like Blade and Armand in an AA meeting in Ohio. It's so peak

SakuraBlossom

Sam Reid is glorious in this role. Such a pleasure to watch. Gabrielle just needs one hard push out of a window in the middle of the day. Her behavior is disgusting and she seems to take Lestat’s pain and discomfort for a joke.

SakuraBlossom

Louis’s narration of the redacted pages of Claudia’s diary played over Lestat’s own violation was so well done. Lestat’s anger at the insinuation in the book makes complete sense.

Valentine

The abused can also become abusers. That doesn't negate what he did or mean he didn't mock her assault just because he also does it to himself. We watched his first love burn because he believed he caused it, and then he made her watch her first love burn for the exact same reason. It's hard not to look at that and see how his child internalized his lessons. The cycle of abuse doesn't excuse his actions it shows how it keeps repeating. He keeps asking, "Was Louis even there when this happened?" only for the narrative to turn around and show that Louis was telling the truth at times. The stutter for example, and so is the way Magnus made him. Every time he tries to discredit Louis's account, the story ends up validating parts of it.

SakuraBlossom

Agreed, I’d be furious and feel humiliated. It was a good narrative choice for the drama, but I can see how she’d feel it to be too intimate of a thing to reveal to Bruce.

Valentine

His anger isn't a negation. Same way his sadness for dropping Louis doesn't mean he did not drop Louis

Feather Noir

I'm going to be honest, the more TVL episodes go on the more I am convinced that the show will reveal that train scene absolutely happened and Lestat is going to have to face how much he hurt Claudia by being so callous about her assault and how he perpetuated the cycle of abuse with her.

*Mar*velous Trash

this is definitely one of the best episodes in the entire series. not even just because we get more of lestat’s story, but we also see him come to terms with it through his music. the abuse from magnus is something he has had to reconcile with everyday through his vampire existence and it seems like music is the one thing that has helped him face his trauma head on and that’s why he does it. it’s not for the streams, success, or fame. you see it while he’s performing that magnus and his mom, his two abusers, leave the concert. in the song he is accepting the fact that he can’t run away from the loneliness his trauma has enveloped him in. he has to learn how to live through another day and find things worth living for. seeing lestat come to terms with this and at his most human made gabriella leave. nicki stayed in the crowd bc while lestat regrets what happened to nicki he is able to look at the good times he had with him as his first love and remember him that way (which is why he didn’t want daniel to use that footage). you could also say the same about louis and daniel and the loneliness they face as vampires while the song is playing in the background. it’s truly such a beautiful scene. the writers and actors outdid themselves.

Sam

Damien Atkins was incredible as Magnus, bro. Magnus sucks but the actors work was impeccable. Bring on more muses, I guess.

Joy

I'm so sick of her.

jiggyj

y'all said Louis bumpin character select music? i'm cryinggg

Delinda Arts

Lestat listened to Cranes In The Sky once and said "I'm inspired!" The Loneliness is so damn good.

Saphthings

Yeah I had misread his mom. I thought he was desperate for her and her aloof but no, it's that she's obsessed with him and he keeps begging her to not do that because he feels groomed and abused by her, and she keeps teasing him and trying to get him to lose control. Like even from the kills, she chooses a wife and husband, wants to share, has the guy look like him, keeps trying to seduce him... The gift enhances what you are, and it made her turn super vampire groomer...

Jamarion Rich

What you are saying is true. But we at the moment dont know if the train scene even happened as Louis told it to us. Their is a couple of things that same nature.

Megan Koler

You did see Nicolas last season. Armand abducted Nicolas and the coven fed on him for days and then Lestat saved him.

PetersThimble

@Valentine We dont even know if thats true. That was Louis' version of the story and they explicitly tell us HE WASNT THERE!! Yall wanna believe Louis' version as gospel even though Louis himself tells us he lied to make himself look better in the previous seasons. IE: Leaving out that he slammed Claudia against the wall, etc. I shouldn't have to sit here and list every single instance in order for yall to understand what im saying. No one in this story is 100% telling the truth but that part especially, is clear that it deeply hurt Lestat to be accused of something like that.

Jamarion Rich

This episode also highlights one of the reasons lestat turned Louis the way he did. It was violent but he didn't force it on him as magnus did him. And could also be one of the reasons why he didn't want to turn Claudia as she couldn't choose it for herself, plus she was a kid.

KomodoughDragon

She's the only part of the season that I don't like. I'm totally okay with absuer characters existing, but it's frustrating to me that she has no other qualities to speak of, she is just a vehicle for Lestat's trauma. And I guess that makes total sense given this is a recounting from her victim, but man everytime the camera pans to her I just think "please someone get this rapist off my screen".

PetersThimble

Yeah Louis had Lestat's consent - which was so beautiful in hindsight that he was able to give someone what he never got himself. Claudia unfortunately was born from Louis' desire to be seen as a savior and Lestat's love of Louis - Never from her own choice but that's the tragedy of Claudia. Nothing about her was ever done for her.

Abiola Adunni

Why are y'all automatically believing everything Lestat says? lmao I think y'all need to watch S2 again, maybe even S1. Lestat literally told his mother in the last episode that he didn't tell Louis about her but he says to Daniel here that he did, and y'all are like yup Louis is a liar liar pants on fire. I was going to write more but I don't have the energy sigh 😪

Leon 🦇

We actually have heard of Nicky before, he was mentioned in season one a few times and in season 2 we seen him with lestat when Armand and lestat first meet and we seen the theater scene from Armand POV in season 2.

rickie woodson

they definitely talked about nicky in the past seasons. claudia brought it up often to fuck with lestat cause she knows its a sore spot for him

Abiola Adunni

Except Louis didn't tell it to us, it was from Claudia's diaries or am I mistaken?

Abiola Adunni

Eh Louis was also not in his right mind to fully consent, that turning was not consensual please. It was dubious consent at best, some "salvation" given to a grief- stricken man at his lowest

Valentine

THANK YOU 😭 They've literally done this twice now. Lestat is all, "But was Louis even there?" and then the very next scene is the show going, "Yeah... he was right though." Likeeeee at a certain point the narrative is beating us over the head with Louis wasnt just making everything up! Like even Nicki was like "Lets play our favorite game You lie and I believe you"

T

Him calling Magnus ‘Father Mags’ as you would address a priest and mentioning earlier how he had a hard time at the Monastery… back in 1x1 he got livid with Paul over God and killed the 2 priests in the church whom he later called ‘kid fiddlers’.. just a really heavy and heartbreaking episode but so well done

P J

nicky was mentioned in interview of a vampire

Abiola Adunni

When did Louis tell us that he lied to make himself look better? Genuinely asking

Saphthings

I could be wrong. But I think Lestat said to his mom that he told Louis she died, so she's secret from him. I think Lestat said that he talked about her all the time just to spite Louis and make him look like a bigger liar lol. Like he was just being petty like, "oh? he must've told you about her, i talked about her aaaaalll the time, and he would never lie.... riiiiight?: haha

Helpy

are you sure

Tito

This episode was actually such PEAK CINEMA!! The first two episodes were directed/written by a different guy, so I like how this episode felt like classic interview with the vampire with the pacing and flashbacks placements.

Abiola Adunni

Like the stuttering that apparently Louis mentioned but we did not see, only for Lestat to say to Daniel "was he there?" in E1. Cut to episode 2 with him stuttering when he was younger and him finally admitting it in this episode. So how did Louis know bro if he lied about everything and lied with malicious intent? Then the mum stuff or even Nicholas, like we didn't see how he acted when Claudia brought his name up in S1, like part of Louis and Lestat's relationship problems/dynamic was not about Lestat withholding or lying by omission e.g not telling Louis he could burn in the sun after turning him. Or the fact that he himself told us last episode that he was making up the Daniel and Louis meet up for his own amusement since he wasn't there. I could go on and on but no Louis is just "spiteful and a big fat liar". That's not to say Louis is perfect, I could mention a bunch of his flaws, especially in regards to his choice of partners or how he didn't do enough for Claudia when she was alive but a lot of people already castigate him for things he did and didn't do and mischaracterise him with bad intent, so I won't. Compared to how apparently Lestat can do no wrong and never has bad intentions or ill intent

PetersThimble

T just explained it for Claudia and the entirety of the last season showed that Louis lied in certain aspects to make himself look better. Yes it was intermixed with Armand splicing his memories and lying to him but Louis is a person who made choices to fit his own narrative and thats the point. There are tons of videos on YT with compilations so go watch those if you need direct scenes - im not a youtuber. edit: Omg yall need everything spelled out. Better doesnt always mean for the sake of someone else. "Looking better" in this case could even be to HIMSELF. Louis is ashamed of who he is bc of a ton of reasons we dont have time to name and expressly states that last episode ("I dont like who i was in the book"). Lying to yourself abt the events that happened so that you dont confront your grief or embarrassment - is still lying. Im not even saying he slunk around going "hehe yes and now i will lie!!" But that he at time unconsciously lied to make himself look better in order to avoid his own monstrosity.

Jamarion Rich

It was consent, he pulled him in, right after seeing him kill a priest.

P J

I mean there was literally that same scene basically of Lestat and Armand in the private box in the theater overlooking him playing the violin except Lestats mom wasn't there and they were making out I think. I just went through the episodes real quick and it's in episode 3 of the second season.

PetersThimble

@Abiola Adunni implying louis’ turning wasn’t consensual would be the biggest disservice done to the story. the entire point is that lestat shows himself to louis in all his monstrosity and louis accepts him, that louis feels seen for the first time in his life. It was consensual and Louis expressly thanks him and apologizes for how he treated his gift later in the last season? Yall watch with your eyes closed istg

Abiola Adunni

Wow the entirety of S2 did not show that Louis lied to make himself look better, that's your bias and not the storytelling. I'm not even going to engage further lol you got it

PetersThimble

Some ppl in these comments have just decided louis is the only person thats right and hate any other perspective. Hate to break it to yall but Louis is an unreliable narrator, so is Lestat and everyone else in this show and the truth is always somewhere in the middle.

Abiola Adunni

@T When and who said the train scene was to make Lestat a cartoonish villain? Rolin or Hannah or who?

Becca

I think that's the point, actually. There's a reason the show has Louis read the diary aloud in front of the giant wall objectifying Lestat (there's a 'glory hole' where Lestat's mouth is and a bunch of rape threats on the wall), while Bruce says "why are you coming to me after you published that book?" The show knows it's violating for Louis to read these pages out loud; that's why they make Bruce's kill unsatisfying, for both us and Louis.

Becca

@FeatherNoir Based on recent interviews after this episode with Rolin, it's going to do the exact opposite. Rolin says in the After Dark interview for episode three, they had this scene in mind when they wrote the train scene, and that this is the reason why Lestat is so stuck on the train scene. I also think it's funny that people quote Claudia's diary like it's fully accurate, when the show has shown us at least twice that she leaves out key details (the Louis/Lestat fight) or outright lies in it ("I don't dream" when Louis remembers she was dreaming). Lestat's story is about surviving implied sexual assault, and he's assaulted by multiple people throughout his life; that's why he's some people's comfort character, and that's why people were so pissed off about the train scene when it came out in season 1.

Frederick

Bro these vampires are wild. What the fuck is happening? 😂😂😂

Becca

They have a Spotify account with all the songs they've released so far! Agree with you guys, I really liked the songs this episode. A couple corrections: in the show, Lestat mentions his mother in Season 1, and they mention Nicky when Lestat sends Louis the "Come to me" song, because he'd initially written it for Nicky. In Season 2, we see Armand's story about kidnapped Nicky and letting his coven feed on him in order to get Lestat's attention. Lestat comes down with the giant wooden cross in order to free Nicky and bring him back home. That's where the Nicky turning scene picks up: Lestat is nursing Nicky back to health from being drained by Armand's Children of the Darkness coven. I was wondering where they were going with this, but this is so intentional: Lestat is hypersexualized by everyone around him except Louis -- even Lestat objectifies himself. The "Armand told the truth" wall has a bunch of rape threats about Lestat on it, and there's glory hole where his mouth is (which is INSANE that they actually put that in the script). Daniel refers to Lestat as a blow-up doll and says he's been trying to "crack those cheeks" forever -- obviously referring to the interview, but it's disturbingly sexual language in the context of Magnus' abuse. And then there's his mother, who, because he drew boundary around having sex with her, decides to loudly have sex with someone who looks just like him. Btw re: his mom, I don't think he's in love with her. I think he wants a mom who cares about him, and her care only comes in the form of sex. Daniel brings up "his abuser" right after that loud sex moment, which feels pointed by the show. He has a panic attack talking about Nicky, but his mother was the one who really rattled Magnus out of his cage, I think. I love how this show treats the trauma. Lestat's usually shirtless when he performs, but he onstage fully clothed at the end, and it feels like him singing the song drives away both his abusers -- Magnus goes first, then his mother -- which leads to Lestat floating elatedly. I can't wait to see where they're going with that.

itshawkguy

SUCH a good episode. Had me nauseous those last 20 mins though. Side note: Louis did know about Nicki since season one . When Lestat finally told Louis and Claudia about his past. But it was like a single sentence. Whether or not Lestat said more remains to be seen.

Feather Noir

Yes. He was alluded to without his name in 1x1 when we first see Lestat talk about the music box during the 3way scene with Miss Lily. Then he was mentioned again with the name "Nicki" in 1x6 when Lestat tells Claudia about his death during their chess game. Then we actually see Nicki played by this actor in 2x3 during Armand's flashbacks.

naa

The parallels between Lestat watching Nicky burn and him saying "I could not look at the wound, I would not" and Claudia watching Charlie (her first lover) burn are crazy. Also, someone pointed out how the "O" sound lestat says nicky made when he burned has appeared in the show before. We saw it in the first tvl episode when Lestat spoke to Baby Jenks when she was floating on the roof during her overdose. Some people are theorising that Lestat might have been hallucinating Nicky in that moment. The camera also intentionally focuses on and zooms out from an "O" shape lestat makes with his lips while he is doing that

naa

I think that that's the point. It's a deplorable act and displays Louis selfishness in his grief. He is once again using Claudia as his "throw pillow" when lestat doesn't look at him kindly. None of the actions he is taking are truly about her

naa

@Becca 100%

naa

they were asleep watching the first two seasons

Feather Noir

I actually think NOT acknowledging the dubious consent of Louis' turning is doing more of a disservice. He gave "consent" while he was at his lowest and most depressed/suicidal mere hours after his brother's suicide, after Lestat's ambush at Paul's funeral, after his mother rejected him, after learning Miss Lily was murdered by Lestat, and having just witnessed a violent and traumatic murder of two priests he'd known for years one since his childhood. The dubiousness of the church scene is part of the "Gothic Horror" half of the Gothic Horror Romance of the show. Denying it is also doing a disservice to the way the writing is engaging with concepts of informed/enthusiastic consent and cycles of abuse. Lestat IS showing all of himself to Louis and saying "I see you too" to him. But simultaneously Louis is being traumatized in real time by Lestat and is about to be turned into a vampire at the height of that trauma and depression. Their love is mayhem and monstrosity and painful and encompassing and liberation and entrapment all at the same time.

Tori

FINALLY the famous quote from the very start of the book. 'I am the vampire Lestat. I'm immortal. More or less'. 😏🖤

PetersThimble

Naa im fighting for my life against ppl that watched with their eyes and ears closed and refuse to critically think - I gotta stop commenting in this Patreon 🫩

Feather Noir

While I do enjoy behind the scenes content after the fact, I personally do not take interviews as canon until it is on the page or on the screen. If or once it is on the screen during an episode, we can circle back to use the interview discussion as part of the analysis. I am fine with being wrong about my prediction but before the end of the season this cannot be taken as canon as interviews often mislead to obscure plot points and spoilers.

sol jam

I feel so bad about Claudia. I hope they leave her look a like alone but knowing Louis it probably be messy

sol jam

The writing level between this and House Of The Dragon are like night and day

Jamarion Rich

At the end of the day, lestat showed Louis exactly who he is. And Louis accepted him.

Feather Noir

Also, if we're talking about book canon Lestat is both assaulted by others and has assaulted multiple people himself. Most notably in TOTBT. Him having been assaulted in the past in the show doesn't mean it's impossible for him to do it to others in the show as well. Thus the examination of cycles of abuse.

Michael Armstead

If they were to make an live action castlevania the guy that plays lastat could definitely play Alucard

GojosHoho

Konnichiwagwan 🤙🏾🤙🏾💀💀😂

Adrian Locke

Sam Reid jersey going up in the rafters

Becca

Louis was so cool killing that coven. Honestly, no one does cool like Jacob Anderson. It reminded me of that "I'll let you reload" moment in Season 1.

SakuraBlossom

Louis himself said that he felt like he was a liar when reading the book lol.

Crystalrose

I need her GONE but one thing i will say -i think Gabriella thinks her and Lestat are the same and that everything is a game and she can act all stupid/terrible because that's what she thinks is fun. Whereas Lestat is in an unstable place because writing music has brought up tons of past trauma/life experiences he hadn't fully confronted and he's not really in the mood to wreak havoc.

Crystalrose

Amazing and intense episode! "The Loneliness" was such a cathartic song to hear after seeing/hearing the terrible things that happened in the later half. Lestat once again proved his ability to endure (despite still being a fucking mess). Also i don't want Daniel to die but he deserved that prank he was being such an asshole lmao

Adrian Locke

They did briefly mention Nicky in S1. It was after Lestat came back from dropping Louis from the sky 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

naa

For anyone rewatching the reaction if you go to 26:40 you’ll notice that lestat hallucinates Nicki as the PA!

naa

Probably why he says “can you get out of my eyeline”

Vinne

Claudia would never admit it but she's more like lestat than Louis they have similar experiences but the fact that they're so alike is why they never got along at all

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

At this point the reporter playing the same character as he did in Blade Trinity 🤣 😂

Dolly Showboaty

I literally started crying when Louis went to the diner after taking out Bruce. Like omg I feel like Claudia can finally rest the bastard is dead.

ShaoDragon

They've mentioned Nicky in the previous two seasons

ShaoDragon

Man I really hope we get more about Magnus

Gwyn

After this yall should watch What We Do in the Shadows

Lamaree Jackson

That song did have 21 Guns vibes Roshi I agree

Lamaree Jackson

Why do people try so hard to take sides when everyone is terrible people? Same thing with HotD. Like just watch and hate everyone lmao

James Germain

heres a Hot take I think Gabriella is Queen Akasha in a psychic disguise

tiff

i nominate the vampire lestat for the tgtv music fest

tiff

armand using the name arun (the name he was under at the worst time of his life: pimped out, slave, etc.) makes me intrigued of what we’ll see next episode and his perspective

Lauren B.

Doesn't look like it's been mentioned yet, but the song Long Face that starts with "oooh ooh ooh, wah-ah" was referencing the face Lestat's lover made when thrown into the fire "with his mouth in a circle he said 'oooooooh'"

john segun doe

obsession coming out next on streaming on the 25th of June I believe for like a week or sum

targaryan women

I cried again watching that scene where louis reading claudia diary with lestat having panic attack while driving... just heartbreaking

targaryan women

Ive been streaming the loneliness since it dropped on youtube music 😄

targaryan women

This episode is the best episode of the show for me! 😭

targaryan women

So what is our plan to make sam reid and jacob anderson to be an award winning actors??

MonarchXIII

He is over 100 years old now so it probably manifested in the most recent decades I'm assuming since vampires grow more powerful with age.

Maleny

Bruce correcting Louis on his name is nuts. The guy ripped a half dozen vertebrae out and sprinkled them on the floor behind you, do you really still feel like telling him you're called 'Killer'? Pathological levels of "um actually"

SakuraBlossom

I'll need to rewatch but I think in IWTV Daniel asked if Louis could fly like Lestat and Louis said no and that it's not something inherited and some vampires simply don't have some abilities. Guess he was lying lol

William Perez

Shows got me in a chokehold and I am right where I want to be! :'

J

I love that even though Lestat is the crash out king, Daniel is incapable of making him spiral with his direct aggressive approach. The small detail that only passive comments that undermines his agency or intelligence is what hits seems to be lost on Malloy.

LelaniG

So not only is his weird mom trying to make him jealous, it didnt even sound satisfying shit sounded painful

Lauren B.

The only thing is that we already see at the end of season 2 that Louis flat out says he lies. When he retells the fight he had with Lestat, when he retells when they turned Claudia. So we know Louis lies. We also know Lestat lies. Idk why it's so hard to believe that they're both liars. Also, regarding the mother thing, it's not that hard to believe that he regularly told Louis about his mother *and* also told Louis that she died. (And based on the way Louis was looking at Gabriella in the last episode, I'm pretty sure Lestat told Louis *everything* about his mother which is why he doesn't like her).

Vandren

Ohhhh I thought Nicky was just rambling but he was talking about Magnus 💀💀

Valentine

I doubt it because in one of the teaser trailers Louis literally asks present-day Lestat, "Are you fucking the vagina you spent nine months in?" 😭 So Lestat obviously never told him at least not the full truth. Plus, when he's talking to his mom he literally says, "I told him you died of consumption," which tells us that's all Louis knows about her.

Cinmnapple

It is an actual soundtrack! You can stream all the songs. He's on spotify as The Vampire Lestat

Cinmnapple

Claudia's turning parallel's Nicky's turning. They were both turned out of guilt (louis for claudia and lestats for nicky). Lestat's warning for Louis in 2x7 mirrors Gabriella's warning for Lestat here (which is exactly why Lestat warned Louis)

Cinmnapple

whats funny is the nicky storyline is happening at around the same time as castlevania nocturne

Cinmnapple

Imagine you just happen to be born looking like the murdered daughter of two schizophrenic vampires. Regina...you in danger girl!

Nick Vaughn

Shiiii I’d throw the wig on for Lestat’s psycho mom

Alexis Sullivan

There actually is a Vampire Lestat soundtrack available on all major platforms. The song at the end of this episode is called The Loneliness, its beautiful

naa

not only did they put a soundtrack together for this season, but a few weeks ago Sam Reid did a one time concert in character for fans as Lestat at the beacon theatre in New York!

thank you. there are levels and layers of consent. the only turning we’ve seen that rises to that level is madeline’s in my opinion. lestat was predatory toward louis in a moment of intense suffering and vulnerability, ignored the several times louis told him he wanted to be left alone, and didn’t fully inform louis as to what he’d become. it wasn’t freely given nor informed, so it wasn’t fully consensual. but it’s still so useful to consider how lestat went about things as compared to magnus and how victims of abuse try (and sometimes fail) to end that cycle. a parent is physically abusive to their child; that child grows up, becomes a parent and only spanks their child. it’s very human.

Magic and witches exist in this world. It wouldn't be to farfetched to assume that, Regina, the waitress at the diner is a reincarnated Claudia.

The clarify Lestat also suffered SA that’s why it hits so deep

The parallels between Claudia’s SA and Lestat’s have been there since season one. I’ll admit I hated that they added it to Claudia’s story because it wasn’t in the books. But I really need Louis to clock how selfish it was to read Claudia’s diary to Bruce. He did the same thing with Lestat’s story about Magnus when he told Daniel. It was not his trauma to share.

Louis is a well established liar by this point I'd think.

Lexxlionz

For anyone confused lestat is a liar in ep 2 he told his mom that he lied to Louis about her meaning any story that she would have been involved in lestat lied to Louis and Claudia about it to hid the things in his past he didn’t want to talk about

I appreciate Daniel’s character. He’s not afraid of giving push back toward Lestat (even with Louis and Armand; he is constantly toeing a line with the intention of circling an eventual answer). Also every-time they call Armand a gremlin I cackle lol.

Narutofreak94

Also I adore the layers they’re exploring with how different mental phases at the time of transformation can have an impact of who they are after, not a mysterious cure all. I love the writing of everything and everyone.

Narutofreak94

Remember too he made Claudia watch her love burn. That makes sense now 😭

I understand all of this (and personally am annoyed they cut out some of her key elements), but I think unfortunately we have to roll with the cast & crew's philosophy of "we're telling Lestat's story (and Lestat is telling Lestat's story), not hers". So in effect, she is indeed intended to frame his trauma. Which is disappointing, but.

It took a minute but Claudia finally got her revenge. Good job Louis 👍.

Loneliness by Lestat been on repeat

Favorite episode so far~ Like the way Lestat's ptsd manifested with Magnus, especially while he was driving felt so insanely realistic. Those memories and/or the person who caused the trauma is essentially suffocating you in the middle of you trying to live your life, so you'd say or do anything for it stop i.e Lestat going as far as praying when his relationship with religion is the way it is. I loved the ending song too, let me go find it on spotify lol.
