There are 4 extra chapters that are an epilogue, I’m not sure if they plan to animate them though. But those chapters really help with the stories ending too.

The machine senku was using to create gasoline from a bottle cap made a comeback. Reference to episode one. That’s the exchange Senku had before.

The time travel they want to do would be the kind that prevents paradox’s. They also aren’t sure if it’s multiverse theory or not. But basically the plan is to petrify the people who were on the spaceship, but only at the point where they should have died in that timeline. This means that they would do the two Russians when they get lost at sea, and the other guy when he gets tuberculosis, and Senku’s dad only when he falls into the river. This way it wouldn’t interfere in the timeline. Since as long as they don’t directly contradict known information, they can do anything.

I’ll miss this show

R.I.P one of my favorite animes

The exchange Senku and Taiju have in the lab is the same as the first conversation they had at the beginning of the anime. The only difference is that in the beginning it was Taiju telling Senku that he’s going to tell Yuzuriha he loves her.

The thing with time travel too is that it could just create multiple timelines instead of changing the current future. It’s possible that their timeline will be unchanged but there’ll be another timeline where the petrification disaster didn’t happen. If it created paradoxes then there’d be no point in doing this imo

Don't know if Dr. Stone will follow in the footsteps of MHA & FF and give us an epilogue bonus but regardless, another long running show reaches the finish line. Always appreciate when y'all rock with a show to its conclusion. Helps that the show never had any significant dip or fall off. Ohayo!

Bloodcrusnik

Yeah, don't like the time machine idea, because that'd kill the whole Ishigami village.

Kingmakaii

Dr stone was a fun ride another great anime to watch with everyone here and many more to come

Osiris Cage

More than likely they'll go back and petrify the astronauts moments before they die, so it doesn't mess up the timeline.

Bloodcrusnik

Taking them out of the timeline would change how their children would make decisions, possibly removing possible pairings that would lead to Kohoku's generation from being born.

I love Dr. Stone, so saying goodbye to the anime after 7 years is hard. I've heard about some light novels and an epilogue mini series, so I'll have to check those out, but it won't be the same without these amazing voice actors. I still can't believe that Senku and Subaru from Re:Zero are voiced by the same guy, although I can definitely hear it now. My only real gripe this cour (other than the visuals, which seemed to struggle outside of hype moments) is how it felt both too slow AND too fast. As more and more cities were founded, I was expecting subplots about how difficult it'd be to keep the world united, but like Roshi said, there was no real human conflict. We heard about "Dunbar's number" multiple times, so I figured it was foreshadowing one final human conflict before we reached the moon. That, and the emphasis they placed on Senku being adopted throughout the story, had me theorizing about what would happen next until the very end.

I think they meant non Paradox time travel so "Save people from past while keeping timeline in tact" Think Steins Gate

Seibahhh

the fact that dr stone happened means the time machine will create an alternate timeline also theres like 3 more chapters to adapt (time travel sequel)

Seibahhh

its not over yet, 3 more sequel chapters

Hopefully we get the extra chapters animated into OVAs. Thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Stone. I'm a science lover so this was up my alley right off the bat. Loved all the characters and I think Senku is a generational MC as far as shounen is concerned. I like the time machine idea, to me it was more like a continuation of the crazy science despite the circumstances that has been happening the whole show. There were even components included on the little road map that have been theorized to complete a time machine, which I thought was very neat. 8.5/10 for me.

Such a fun anime I'm sad that it's over. The finale was really good for the anime but I really disagree with its message I guess? Maybe it's an eastern way of thought to restore things to how they were just avoiding the danger but I prefer a Star trek approach where we use our resources to create a better world and evolve beyond need. Beyond everything and start looking at the stars instead of restoring a world where no one from the Epstein files got persecuted properly

Artistikk

I'm thinking time travel like DBZ/Future Trunks. Going back and changing the past didn't change anything in his future. It just basically created a new timeline where the events of his never happened. So presumably, they'd stop the OG petrification event and then there'd be a separate timeline where it never happened. For them, and their timeline, nothing would change.

I want you to try and read what it said again cause' either you read way to quick for you brain to understand what you are reading or you might have some form of dyslexia. They would petrify them THE MOMENT the died. That way no paradoxes would happen and instead they could be revived later

Kaanta

Motherfuckers just re-established capitalism lmfao IRL if Senku existed, bro would NOT just let capitalism happen, even Einstein was a socialist lol Japanese artists/writers don't like to dabble in politics beyond "oh yeah we should maybe hold hands and make the world better or sum"

Kameron Renae

Ugh so sad that it’s over! This is my comfort anime

Tasu yu

So the real question is WHO TF WAS THAT FEMALE SENKU Lol LIKE HUHH
