There was a Fox mutant live-action series called *The Gifted* that heavily featured Lorna Dane/Polaris. It did a pretty good job focusing on her powers. I've always been a fan of her character, and I love her even more in this new animated version that gave her a lot of "sauce." She's so dope. She's not as "beast" as her sister, but Magneto's bloodline is god-tier.

It's also a little upsetting seeing Trish Tilby doing the news. Knowing she's a full-blown mutant racist, she volunteered for the program and then she played in Beast's face for months. Pretended she liked him when she really couldn't stand him. I can't get a read on Valerie Cooper. She's running X-Factor, but she's working with the fascist President who wants to wipe out mutant kind. She kind of reminds me of Charles Xavier in a way: just as naive, hopeful but on the wrong side of history. She's got mutants hunting and locking up their own, hoping to prove there are some of the good ones out there, thinking that humanity will accept them. I kind of want to see her get what's coming to her, too.

They kinda breeze past it, but Storm can't get involved at the end cause she works for the school and if she starts doing X-Men type shit the government is going to use that as a pre-text to go after the kids in the school. Charles creates X-Corp as a separate entity on the island of Genosha so they can keep being the X-Men. But Cooper alludes to the fact at the end that just because they're a legal entity now that they can't act with impunity, there's issues of jurisdiction now if they want to go into another country.

Something that really frustrated me about that series is the two main siblings. The twins are canonically the children of Baron von Strucker from the *Age of Ultron* movies, but as mutants, they weren't allowed to be used in the *Avengers* movies, so they used Pietro and Wanda instead.

I think it’s less that Charles has literally replaced Magneto with Polaris, and more that he’s filled the emotional void left by Magneto with a new purpose in the form of this X-Corp. Polaris definitely covers the missing firepower they lost with Magneto though

A little mistake the writers made in the show is when Charles was communicating with Magneto even though he shouldn't have been able to because of Magnetos helmet. Didn't notice it until this episode.

The crazy thing about Polaris is despite all the crazy shit she's been doing, she's not even Omega like her father (she's still Alpha, which is just below), which goes to show how powerful Magneto is when it comes to the same/similar power set
