Hopefully they will announce the next season at Comic con. It should be Queen of the Damned next.

Nightcrawler247

I love that ultimately Armand's entire plan was to get an apology too. He is so damn petty. I love it 🤣

Yessi

i love how character driven this finale was. we really got to see the many ways in how lestat views himself as well as how much a psycho armand can be.. i mean threatening to sow louis’s head onto regina’s body just because louis doesn’t want to apologize to him ?! 😭 i hate and love him

G A H I

This season was pure perfection! Can’t wait for my queen Akasha though! I need more of her next seasonnn 😫😫😫

Carlos

I legit forgot this was gonna be a 7 episode season, thought we had one more to go! As good as this episode was, I didn't like it as a finale personally. Wish we could've seen Akasha and the concert and HOW it all went to shit as opposed to blue balling us for potentially another 2 years. Phenomenal performances all around, just wanted MORE!

2026-10-05 14:00 paul being there was acting in the place of st. peter, deciding whether or not lestat was going to heaven. i don’t think he was lestat’s hallucination simply because i don’t think lestat would say to himself any of what paul said. paul even in his ignorant and judgmental ways can see how much louis and lestat love each other, and i think being in the afterlife has taught him to understand and accept that.
2026-07-22 23:38 in the beginning lestat said people who he’s killed, turned, or traumatized would be there so no, again, lestat did not kill paul lol. however, paul being there was acting in the place of st. peter, deciding whether or not lestat was going to heaven. i don’t think he was lestat’s hallucination simply because i don’t think lestat would say to himself any of what paul said. paul even in his ignorant and judgmental ways can see how much louis and lestat love each other, and i think being in the afterlife has taught him to understand and accept that.

Jamaal Ellison

Same, I thought I was weird for feeling that way.

Yessi

personally i loved it cus it made me want to see more lol and based on what the show runner and actors have said, this season was written as being the first part of the story. praying the fourth season gets renewed so we get to see lestat and akasha again 🙏🏽

Jamaal Ellison

I have consistently found the seasons of "Interview with the Vampire" to be exceptional. It would be a significant oversight not to renew the series for an additional season. However, I believe that this particular episode, or perhaps the season as a whole, would have benefited from an additional installment.

Himindabank

Lestat: “Whom I now call a friend” Me: “GET AWAY FROM THAT MAN IMMEDIATELY, LESTAT!”🤣

PetersThimble

Lestat had nothing to do with Paul's death. Paul was mentally unwell - we knew this in other seasons. Paul just appeared to him to provide comfort.

Mika

No, he didnt kill Paul. It was said not all the people there were his victims. Paul was kinda like a spiritual guide there like saint Peter near the pearly gates.

Yessi

i think there was both lie and truth in what louis said to armand. i think deep down if he had to analyze himself he feels bad about wasting his and armand’s time by staying with him and feels pity for armand and his past, but i don’t think louis thinks that his coldness is what drove armand to do these fucked up things. of course he’s gonna say that to get out of there alive just like anybody would.

They have already announced for season 4

Anon7524

Honestly it doesn't surprise me the lengths some will go to just to have their feelings validated by a person

Ash Comfy

Does Lupa like the show?

N

Assad Zaman needs all his flowers for his performance, his micro expressions go off the charts! Sam, Jacob, Delainey and Assad gave spectacular performances you can really see the passion and introspection they have for these characters pay off incredibly well in the show - truly a labour of love. I can’t wait for season 4 with more Akasha

King97

So did Lestat wake Akasha and she just let loose on everything?

Alexis Sullivan

Idk if yall caught at the end when he was yelling at his mom that he wasnt going on stage and he said "you fucking monster!". Im so happy that Lestat FINALLY sees his mother for what she is and understands what she did to him. She groomed him and she abused him for 200yrs. He lied to himself all that time that she loved him and that he wasnt a victim but he finally saw it. That long cry-howl he did after that montage of his mother abusing him was like his heart breaking after realizing his mother never truly loved him and he was always just a play thing to her. It makes it worse cuz she started sexually abusing him after Magus rworded him. So he was already in a vulnerable state when it started. Also, pretty sure Daniel is dead cuz he was about to attack Raglan when he took the bag but then next we see Raglan has it anyway so guessing he must've killed Daniel

Nightcrawler247

Same. I kinda get it though. They did paint my mans like he was the only one doing wrong.

LC

Armand was criminally underutilized this season

Let me rant a bit :) What annoys, and even disappoints me at times, is how often people seem to reduce these characters to a simple choice: either excuse them completely or write them off entirely. “Forgive or condemn.” Every character has done horrific things. Every one of them is bad by human standards. Louis is bad. Lestat is bad. Armand is bad. They’re all murderers. They aren’t characters you’re supposed to dismiss as just “monsters” with no depth or background. The point is that none of them are perfect villains or perfect heroes. I believe that the more people let go of the need to categorize everyone as simply “good” or “evil,” “white” or “black,” and simply let them be “gray,” the more peace, pain, and enjoyment the show will bring them. If you can empathize with Lestat, Louis, or Claudia, but not with Armand, I’d be genuinely curious to know what makes him sooo different for you :) There’s a universe of difference between “condoning” or “reinforcing” someone’s actions and understanding, or at least seeing, where a character is coming from, including their background, traumatic experiences, and so much more. Isn’t it great that the show allows us to feel sympathy, dislike, irritation, and even love for the same character? There’s so much room for complex analysis, and that’s just one of the many great gifts the series has given us :) Thank you for your wonderful reactions!!

Paul Reyes

The random references to Drake crack me up 😂

Frederick

This show was fantastic

rYenis

Someone on reddit said that in season 2 Daniel held for 6 days against Armands brainwashing every time he says rest. In this season everyone folded every time he said it. Just an observation.

chynanyhc

He didn’t kill Paul. Paul was an angel and he was talking to God when he said “yes, ma’am” before he gave Lestat his time back

Remi

I want to put something down, because it's pretty scary how fast people change their mind about Louis' victimhood or choosing to see it as Mutual Abuse. Because it already happened in S2 with Lestat. Louis fighting back against Lestat branded him forever as a perpetrator in his own abuse. I've already seen comments on other social media platforms, cheering for Armand to put Louis in his place for withholding his love or because Louis hurled him into a wall, when the truth came out. I want to make it clear that Armand is one of the strongest vamps out there, with formidable mind powers. And Louis is a traumatized wreck. Louis can't do shit to him. Louis never really wanted Armand due to the part he played in the trial (even before Louis knew the whole truth), which resulted in the lynching of Claudia, Madeleine & Louis. And unless Armand is a dumbass, he knew that from the beginning, because Louis said so "You'll never make it up to me" & he stood there and let himself be used as a tool for punishment, when Louis wanted to punish Lestat by declaring Armand as his new companion. He's with Armand out of spite & to actually punish all three of them. You could say, Louis has the blood of a Catholic in him. Armand is a 517 year old vamp, who spent 77 years trying to change the mind of his victim into loving him. If you look back to S1 & 2, you can see how much Armand controlled Louis & his environment & how dull Louis seemed. Louis was his prisoner: From the bars in the bedroom, the dark outfits he was wearing, to scheduled feedings & mindfuckery as we've seen with the Fred Steins & the memory alterations. Armand even said in 1973 “If you wanted an escape from this prison of empathy I’ve locked you away in, all you had to do was ask”. And what happens when ultimately Louis leaves him? Armand had to punish him like a "runaway slave", by beheading him, putting his head on a spike, humiliating him with the event being livestreamed & even branding him. I don't even want to talk about the psychological torture or the racism of it all. Making his victim apologize to him under torture, was one of the most disgusting and vile things a team of writers could have come up with. And seeing the showrunners & writers say that so explicitly during the After Dark Show or in interviews, that they wanted to "humble" Louis and make him have this victimblaming epiphany "Oh, is there some part of me that made him want to torture me? Is there something I did that caused this, that I've to apologize for?" is just so devastating. What they are doing to Louis and what kind of message they want to convey with this is the true horror of this show.

*Mar*velous Trash

i’m glad yall loved this season. i think a lot of fans went into this season skeptical bc of the tonal/style shift, but i do think it’s a perfect continuation of the story in terms of showing where all of these characters are now in modern times and how they get by with the trauma and loneliness that comes with vampirism. i’ve seen some people say this season was meaningless but i feel like it did its job of being a transitional season that focuses more on being a character study instead of plot driven, and i appreciate that more tbh. as much as i am looking forward to the akasha plot for next season, i had fun getting to know and understand lestat this season outside of his relationship with louis. overall i think it was a great third season.

Jakhiraj✨

Waiting for Queen of The Damned they better renew season 4! I need to see that concert!

Himindabank

No, Lestat did not kill Paul.

Becca

Apparently that was their initial plan, but they didn't have the money to pull it off this season, so they pushed it to the beginning of Season 4 and restructured this season around Gabriella, and slowly revealing who Lestat is past the performance. Cross fingers we get Season 4!

PJ Rivera

Who knew a series about gay vampire lovers would be so compelling? Can’t wait to see more

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Lestat didn't kill Paul. The most popular theory was he was there as a spirit or Saint, ready to guide Lestat to the afterlife, but then was stopped by God, who told him it wasn't Lestat's time yet. It was also stated the people there were all people Lestat either killed, turned, or traumatized so not everyone there was murdred by Lestat, like Marius and Baby Lestat. Sam and Jacob also said in an interview that the decision to use Paul to tell Lestat that Louis loves him was because Paul was the last person Louis said "I Love You" too and genuinely meant it, but then Paul killed himself and traumatized Louis to the point that he now struggles to say I love you to the people he truly loves. To this day he has never told Lestat he loves him (he didn't tell Claudia either) and when he does finally say it to Lestat, just know I will be crying.

Oni Legend

I really appreciate this finale for going the less the big climatic route and instead sticking to very heavy personal character focus we’ve gotten this whole season with Lestat. I also appreciate the consistent throughline to have each episode be less and less chaotic and manic from Lestat as we get deeper into who he is and see how much of his showmanship and divaness is coping for a very deeply flawed and emotional person at his core Having the dinner be all the key figures and periods in his life all kind of come together in the end to really drive home what “The Failures” actually means to Lestat. Its the people he feels like he’s failed in his life, the things that have come from his mistakes, the things he wish he could’ve known and prevented if he wasn’t lost in a fog looking for some sort of connection. I think its great that it also happens to come right after him and Louis have a very real intimate moment in the park after the whole season of his mom lurking behind his shoulder constantly taking advantage of the fucked up dynamic she instilled into him. Its like that moment with Louis made Lestat realise what he’s been looking for all this time and how he’s finally found it for one small moment

sol jam

Lestat isn't talking about the vampires he kept mentioning the queen not the vampire horde so Akasha

Becca

No, he didn't kill Paul. Lol, confirmed by the showrunners: Paul is meant to be a soul here to escort him to death, or a "spirit of self-forgiveness" within Lestat. You could also interpret it as Lestat feeling guilty for shouting at Paul at the table in episode 1 ("memorably traumatized"), but it looks like the showrunners intended him to be a St. Peter figure.

𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜 ✿

@nightcrawler, that’s because his wrongdoings are disproportionate to any of louis’ transgressions towards him. that might be it, i think. lmao ? like huh 😭 louis used armand, yes; but as did armand, louis. on top of psychological abuse + sister / daughter killing (whilst lying about his part to play in said killing, mind you). it is outrageous of him to ask louis for an apology, let’s be real.

Yessi

no shade but you’re deeping it a little too much in regards to the racial undertones and “the message the writers are trying to convey”💀 if armand were white or if armand didn’t lob lestat’s head off his body too (and it was just done to louis) those last couple paragraphs of yours might’ve been compelling

Adrian Locke

Lestat getting shit on by Anthony Fantano is frying me

Yessi

i think it just looks like he doesn’t because he’s trying to pay close attention and decipher what’s being said and what’s happening, at least that’s what it seems like to me based on their comments after the reaction

Nightcrawler247

Hey, I'm not justifying it. I'm just saying I see the logic.

ChickenDinners

where did they announce it? I haven't found it in my searching.

Lauren B.

They do keep saying that Daniel died in a very bad way during the season. So it might be that

Adrian Locke

Sam Reid going down in the books man what an actor

MBA

Some of the scenes from this episode reminded me of hereditary, incredible cinematography

Tito

can’t wait for season 4 Queen of the damned, i already know episode 1 gonna be the concert and intro of Akasha just showing up burning up all the vampires 😭😭

Narutofreak94

Armand is a gremlin and remains a gremlin 😭 I’m so ready for what’s to come. Thank you guys for another great reaction

lackingnames

Louis is probably the morally worst character in the show

Tae

Lol for some reason I can't find it in me to hate Armand. I genuinely pity him. Lious, a pimp, the man who slept with hundreds of boys and killed them after...Armand should never have been with him lol it never would have worked even if he didn't lie.

naa

Believe it or not there are ppl who genuinely believe this finale implicates the writers are white supremacists lol

Willy Wonka

Why would anyone come to that conclusion? im confused

naa

The show didn’t end up playing out exactly how they imagined it lol

Indifferent Denji

I mean this show has people who have been alive for hundreds of years speaking in all different styles of english, mixing other languages and speaking in very extravagant ways. Its one of those ones you really gotta lock in for

Sam Fernandez

I'm wondering if TVL will have a part 2 for season 4 like how they split the first 2 seasons for IWTV. Or just go straight into Queen of the Damned?

Feather Noir

I think you are using very inflammatory language for a situation that is more nuanced. No need to try to discredit legitimate concern some Black people and South Asian people have had for actually several years with regards to bias in a writer's room and the way some of the writing feels thoughtless for characters who were race bent from white in the books.

naa

Have critiques all you want, fine. But there were people saying this season of television rivalled birth of a nation, trying to start a campaign to contact the NAACP about the show (that campaign was led by a WHITE person btw, and embarrassing themselves with their parasocial behaviour in Jacob and Assad’s instagram comments basically telling grown men to blink twice if they need to be rescued from this project. So of course I’m going to use inflammatory language. Don’t downplay the severity of how fucking insane this fandom has been because the show didn’t cater to their headcannons. People have less so tried to address “legitimate concerns” and have instead displayed behaviour they should frankly be embarrassed of, and nearly every time I have dug deeper to try and understand what they are talking about, I have seen delusional people who are ultimately just upset that the show didn’t play out in the way they’d expected over the past two years.

ShaoDragon

Lestat did that moaning thing when he was tell Dan about Nikki's death. How Nikki did it as he burned

Nicolle B

I'll tell you this much, the concert happens and all hell breaks loose.

Megan Koler

He didn't kill Paul. And I would argue that is actually Paul, not just a figment of Lestat's psyche.

Cinmnapple

He makes me giggle so much

Cinmnapple

Gabriella's sick asf. She really took him to that witch burning know they were all SA victims and they were blamed for their own abuse. The grooming started so young.

DarkSkyLady

A lot of folks are rightfully upset and seeing a continued pattern with how Black bodies are shown being gratuitously harmed. People are also upset given how Claudia calls Louis a nappy-headed slave in the previous episode. It's understandable especially given how a) AMC promoted this season with a white lead compared to other seasons and b) they apparently fired all their Black writers after the last season. So, this season is missing a lot that could have made it better especially with how they treat Black characters.

DarkSkyLady

Plus you'd be surprised how many white people get mad when you suggest Paul is there because Lestat either killed him or traumatized them. They all want it to be genuine that Paul appears and forgives him.

Thoma

As others have said, Lestat had nothing to do with Paul's death. Anne Rice herself confirmed that many, many times while she was alive. He was there as a guide and was talking to God. I did find it interesting that the subtitles said "birdsong," and Paul always said that the birds were talking to him. Just throwing this out there, but maybe Paul actually could hear the angels or whatever when he was alive. He said during the dinner scene in Season one, "The birds asked me to ask you." But everyone always blew him off as being crazy.

Vanessa

I just realized that the guy playing Alex (Seamus Patterson) also played in From as the guy that injured when the house fell down. The one that got them all screwed.

Atttt

Loved this comment, you are 100% right, and i’m so happy some people are deeping this.

Atttt

I did not really like this season sorry, loved the acting it was amazing like always, but for a season who should adapt the “brat prince” Lestat lose practically every bit of agency he should have, his personality was him supposedly knowing some things could create problems but doing it anyways , here instead he is just subjected to decisions that don’t come from him, and he is so justified in everything that could make him “bad”. Armand is practically cartoonishly evil for some reason, some of his actions left me like ???, Daniel doesn’t seem an accomplished journalist anymore i still don’t get what his arc was supposed to be. When did he even start hating Louis? Do we know? No. Louis is here to be the “humbled” i suppose, he apologize for some reason to Armand? Even if that whole storyline would make more sense with armand and lestat but i guess beating Louis down was more important. The flashbacks were too short and his past should have been explored better. (People say it’s because we are seeing it from Lestat pov but even in the book he was actually pretty coherent in his narration so this excuse make no sense). Hope next season they tone down the “aave/genz talk” since sometimes they are used incorrectly. I will not talk about the weird racial undertones because every-time black people start to mention it the fans starts to send hate in mass. Just will mention that they fired all black writers this season and it was obvious.

Yessi

they didn’t fire only the black writers, the network completely let go of the entire original writers room. whether it was done after season 1 or 2 i’m not too sure about.

Yessi

i think people get mad mostly because the actors, the writers, and even the original book all confirm that he in fact didn’t kill paul. now traumatize? highly possible, i don’t think any person involved with the show has denied that. (not white by the way lol)

Yessi

although i disagree with your point im not black, im indigenous, so i’m not gonna comment on your opinion. but just wanted to clarify that the network didn’t let go of only the black writers but they let go of the entire original writers room. it seems like as the seasons have gone on there’s been more and more censorship and decisions made behind the scenes by amc that the shows creatives have had to work around.

Yessi

they officially did today at sdcc!! it’s officially the queen of the damned

Atttt

The principal black man writer of season 2 said they ghosted him after the strike, so he didn’t even know he was not coming back. But yeah my point was that the fact that there is no black writer on the team anymore is obvious

DarkSkyLady

No, it seemed more like the people arguing were adamant that it's not possible Lestat would do something like that which is the crux of the issue. Also arguing that Paul is a spirit sent to forgive him. Now, firing the writer's room and not hiring Black writers is the POINT. Downplaying it with, "well they fired everyone" does not change the fact that they did not have Black writers for the season, which is how you get something like a British actress ad-libbing and thinking it's okay to call another Black character who existed at the same time during an even more turbulent era of racism a nappy-headed slave. Which Claudia's character would not.

Yessi

it’s not downplaying anything by trying to further explain the situation you brought up lol. i agree it would’ve been great if they hired more black writers if there truly weren’t any this season (which i haven’t seen be officially confirmed besides people speculating), i only commented because based on what you said it sounded like amc only fired the black writers which is untrue… that’s it. have a good day.

chassity king

Whats crazy is the showrunner rolin agrees with armand

chassity king

I disagree with sheera, Armand manipulated Louis to such an extent he ruined his memories and kept him in a relationship based on a lie then lynched him, if anything he got "even" already
