Teacher involved in the true case this episodr is based off of sadly did not survive 💔

girlygirl9983

Heartbreaking eps. I just kept thinking of the little kid in all scenarios. The parents just embarrassing and making him an outcast on their own. Agree with SHEERA it trickles down to the system South Korea has in place that makes parents think this behavior is acceptable/bearable

LaTesha

She would have gotten upper cutted if she did this to a teacher in the US. The mom or dad wasn't well off so no money would have saved her from straight hands 😅 The wrong(right) staff member would have just taken that L if admin didn't support them Then again that's assuming this parent wouldn't have chosen a teacher with the same temperament as this poor teacher 😭 As a school staff member we are tired and sometimes it isn't the kids it's other adults around us that are too much

Blackest Knight

Just found out today that WE LOST SQUID GAME!!! 😢 😭 😿 Yes, the American Squid Game Spin-off was officially canceled today... 😞 They say they are looking for other (smaller) countries to try their own spin-offs with a lower budget. I'd guess that the script wouldn't have made sense in America and the budget was too high for what they had envisioned

LaTesha

I've definitely ran a kid to the bathroom like that before. Pick them up and run 😂. After the first 2 he should have just lined up the whole class

LelaniG

I was just wondering why shes answering text outside of school hours

Bria A.

Honestly? Good. Not everything needs a spin-off, and we already saw how pushing the show past how long the creator originally intended for it to be just made it worse.

Alexx Panda

What happened ? Did they kill the teacher

GorpPenguinz

In july 2023, elementary school teacher Lee Mindo was found dead from suicide in her classroom after repeated pressure from students’ parents like in this episode. She was literally my age :( She also had diary entries describing her daily pain, then she couldn’t take it anymore

GorpPenguinz

I celebrated when the cancelling got announced 😭 Nobody was gonna watch that shit

Fijith1

Just wanted to watch something new not knowing I would be so into this show it’s so good really amazing

Blackest Knight

You know, while I agree (Netflix had started this with Alice in Borderland first) I was looking forward to seeing what David Fincher would have done. Thet got a decent writer, too... Apparently, Netflix was better off letting Fincher direct the next Quentin Tarantino film starring Brad Pitt (coming soon) and now he's working on a "Strangers on a Train" remake lol 😆 I just wanted to see what big talent Hollywood could bring to a show that was once so special

LC

Look, I'm asian and I had a bowl cut as a kid. We all had a bowl cut. It's a rite of passage.

Princess Sakura

This episode really pissed me off because she could have juste blocked her number and put her insta on private. It's really that simple. I still felt bad but it's hard to overlook it.😭

moné

i'm a new teacher too so i get it but my god this teacher was such a pushover it hurt to watch. korean culture's real different because i could never let a parent talk to me like that lmao

jaegucci

i'm a current english elementary teacher in korea and this episode is so triggering 😭😭😭 as soon as the mom looked at the homeroom teacher i knew EXACTLY what was about to happen 😭😭 in korea atp you can't do anything because of students and because of parents it's truly insane

jaegucci

can't do that in korea 😭😭 that's a very easy way to lose your job out here lol especially if you are teaching in more affluent areas

jaegucci

like my school had parents calling the police OFTEN because of their kid not being "treated right" or over the smallest things...

Bria A.

Everywhere (and its education / communication policies) isn't the United States. And I genuinely mean that, not trying to be a smartass lmao

Princess Sakura

I'm not even American 😭🙏🏾 The block button is universal.

Princess Sakura

So you can't block phone numbers or restraint your account on your Instagram? Pls

GorpPenguinz

Im korean and I sometimes cant tell these damn kids in dramas apart cuz they all have the same signature bowl 💔💔

GorpPenguinz

Here’s the thing tho; I had the same exact frustration you had watching this episode from the get-go. However, also consider if the mom is THIS flip-shit crazy, imagine the freakout she would unleash the moment she did get blocked anywhere 🥲 In the teacher’s mind blocking the mom would invite even BIGGER problems faster

GorpPenguinz

And one more point to note: The mom established from the start that she knows where the teacher lives. So she was probably scared that if she blocked the mom, the mom would immediately come find her home

GorpPenguinz

Wow my endgame objective used to be teaching English in Korea, but Im kinda glad Ive decided to just stick to teaching here in america. I really dont think I can deal with how it can get over there. How do you like ur job tho overall? Are there aspects that make it worth it for u?

Tae

girl im with you. A lot of the torture she went through could have been managed if she just used her phone

Samuela Shannon

Ohhh THAT's where we've seen U-jin's dad! That's Seri's other assistant from Crash Landing on You! The taller one!

Niko

I think this ep made me the most mad just because of how frustrating it was to watch

Fred

Burnout is a real deal as a teacher to my fellow educators I always take one day off a month (if we have no holidays or anything) at minimum. And if you teach special needs children like I do you know that paperwork goes crazy 😭

Fred

She gotta ignore these parents on the off hours too😭 I’ll respond for emergency behaviors and medical things but if you texting me abt nonsense yeah I’m not replying

jaegucci

tbh it's not that bad for me but i'm in a really great school in a great area lol and in comparison to teaching in the states, my students enjoy school a lot more which makes teaching them better but i also teach elementary so that is more of a given versus like middle and high school where they don't get to have fun really

Severus Alaerth

The most unfortunate thing about this ep is that parents like these ACTUALLY exist irl EVERYWHERE and it makes my blood boil.

poisonivybag

Han-rim and Geun-dae remind me of Momo and Okarun from Dandadan.
