I've literally got no pity for Alicent. Literally everything bad thing that has fallen upon her family is because she jumped the gun trying to protect her kids. The entire second and third season have been her fault because she just assumed Rhaenyra would kill her sons to secure the line. But even now, after both of her sons are dead, she's still not going to kill Alicent's daughter straight away after learning she's pregnant, even though it would be within her ultimate best interest. So MANY have died because of Alicent's choice to lie. It doesn't even feel like she's fully understanding the weight of her action. I'm looking forward to her death as much as Ormund's, genuinely.

That aside, that plan absolutely wouldve worked and both Ormund and Daeron would be dead. It was only cuz Gwayne, as a knight that has fought in countless tournaments, knows a lot of the knights from all over Westeros so he was able to recognize they weren't who they said they were. Sir Hugh Hammers has Peter Parker levels of bad luck. King Aegon withholds wages. Rhaenyra puts up a blockade, preventing food and medicine from being delivered. Then his daughter starves to death. Only after she's dead and buried does he manage to get a hold of some food. Pushed to the brink of desperation, he goes to find an opportunity, basically going on a suicide mission to protect what's left of his family. He becomes a dragon rider and is immediately conscripted into Queen Rhaenyra's employment. His wife leaves, thinking he abandoned her. She gets assaulted multiple times on the way to her brother's house. Her brother gets killed trying to protect her. He finally finds her, only for her to blame him for her bad luck and refuse to go with him.

Rhae offered a marriage between jace and helena but outta spite alicent chose to marry helena to aegon. Expecting peace and kindness from rhaenyra after consistently stomping on it is crazy

This would probably be a unpopular opinion, but why everyone slamming Corlys? Yes, he could have accepted Alyn and Adam as his sons sooner, but he still needed the royal degree to do so. Idk if y'all remember but with the relationship between the late Viserys and Corlys, that would be a hard nope, and now Rhaenyra refused his request. Corlys, and by extension the whole Velaryon house contributed the most for your war, but now you have nothing in return to reward him, no gold, no food, no stable lands, so why not reward him with titles for his sons that he specifically asked for? I fully understand the issue of them starting rumours about her sons being bastards again, but they have already done that for years, are doing that now, what's the difference? During the war of the 5 kings in got, Joffrey got called out as a bastard and many believed him as such, and yet house Tyrell supported him despite knowing that. It all comes down to negotiation of benefits and interests, which I could say both Rhaenyra and Daemon know nothing about. I do have to agree this her small council has to be the worst one yet though, all they do in meetings were arguing with each other without solving anything. Lack the gold? Send someone to the Iron Bank to negotiate with them again, they have loaned Stannis in less favorable situation, surely this could be negotiable. The Lannisters literally sit on gold mines, demand gold from them as war reparations for supporting the usurper. The food? Negotiate with the Tyrell, that's the one thing that never lack. And change the master of whisperers, I'm tired of Mysaria, she has to be the worst one yet.

It's actually not diabolical to send Alicent because Alicent already offered up all her sons to die in the season finale of last season, she would simply just be competing the plan she already set in motion. It's not diabolical, it's just simply stupid that Rhaenrya would believe Alicent can just suddenly become John Wick with it and catch Aemond slipping. Whatever is about to happen in Harrenhall is not about to go Rhaenrya's way and is going to make things ten times worse.
