Regarding the reason shiro went to hiderat castle, he went to be named/made a hero, like he told Ray in the flashback. It just took him a while to travel from wherever he was to hiderat, especially since he was a poor scammer kid lol. It just so happened that he got there late and the heroes had already been named and failed in killing clevatess (we know what happens after that). Why he has baby luna is a great question though. My theory is he was in the castle to be named hero, clevatess attacks and in the chaos that ensues he runs into whoever it was the queen had helping her (we know Fabio alluded to this other helper in season 1, like you guys mentioned briefly). Seeing the injured/dead helper he'd take the very obviously pure-blooded royal hidenean baby and dip lol. Conversely I guess Shiro could've been the other mysterious helper, but the queen hiring some random teen seems unlikely. Though I guess it would help if that random teen wanted to be hero. Some more fun trivia, the shaft of elbe that shiro mentioned, was also the place that Alicia and Klen were held at by the Ravens: and where they met Nelluru. Meaning Shiros dad was getting his fake swords from the ravens.

Vordin was able to steal the book because Ray accelerated everything in their vicinity except Klen, so Vordin was able to move fast enough to do that. If Klen had been willing to rip Ray’s arm off, he’d have been able to stop Vordin.

To Roshi at the end discussion about how Ray's powers came to be. Ray's powers might of manifested from that conversation he had with Shiro about gears. At 16:08 of the video, the minute both Ray and Shiro shook hands, the picture of the gears electrified and started accelerating. Maybe it's from that?
