respect is a 2 way street. Kids are people too. Some parent's act like they're God just because they brought you into the world and feed you, as if that isn't the bare minimum and literally the law. Children have to have their own interests nurtured even if they go against your own. If you bring someone into the world it's your responsibility to treat them like a human, not a bird in a cage that becomes the vessel for all your own insecurities and fears in life. Parents who can't tell the difference between actual disrespectful behaviour and defying inhumane orders are sad as hell. on the one hand, yeah, but on the other hand his dad keeps a whole grown ass teenager indoors all evening. We've seen no cinemas, no clubs, diners, no laptop, no phone etc. The island is socially dead. He has barely any social options but even those are taken away from him. Like if you're gonna lock him up without even a smartphone at least buy him an Xbox or something 😭

I’m not saying I like him much less condone his behavior but it’s not for no reason. He’s clearly miserable and bored out of his mind. I knew plenty of kids younger than him who were worse than him in larger towns. Pregnant or addicted to drugs/nicotine by 14, in a gang by 13, actual runaways, etc.

Widows' Bay is Kin to True Blood comedy and Horror and I love the anthologies and homages that tie in a real story and interesting characters, one of the few shows all characters shine and I cannot wait for Season 2!!
