On Whittaker living in the hospital, residents make peanuts compared to the salary they get once they're an attending. Especially with massive med school student loans, I don't see this situation being too far-fetched.

"you gunna need at least 4 hours to cry" is so real lol. Also they said earlier, today is abbots day off, he just came in as soon as he heard about the shooting. I think my favorite thing about the show is none of the doctors are bad. All of them are great at their job, with maybe a few mistakes sprinkled in, but still very competent at what they do.

To answer Roshi's question about Abbot, it was his day off and he came in to help during the Pittfest shooting because he was listening on a police scanner. He mentioned his therapist stating that he "finds comfort in the darkness" because he uses work to distract himself from his own darkness. I'm not sure you guys realized but Abbot is a military combat veteran. This was mentioned in his letter to the sister of the veteran patient he had who passed away on the night shift on episode one. And in case it was missed, its hinted at during his assistance with the mass casualty event and his preference for unconventional practices that may be risky but more efficient. When you're a combat medic your methods will be just as unconventional if not more so especially when you don't have the resources you need like in a hospital setting. It's also why he was able to triage (prioritize patients, their problems and sort them in accordance to how serious their needs are) a bit better than Robby when he was still working on Leah. Probably also helped that he had no relation to her since he was feeling down about the patient he lost in the first episode.

I am so happy yall watched this show and will continue on to season 2. Its incredibly well written and puts a new, terrifying perspective on just how unconventional and scary and draining it must be in the E.R. as any one of these nurses or doctors. Looking forwards to season 2 reactions!

I don’t care if he’s grieving, Jake said it himself he basically grew up in this hospital. You know how this goes, you seen how slammed the hospital was. The bullet ripped through her heart and he knows Robby did everything he could to save her and if he knows Robby he should know how he blames himself for his mentors death, putting that blame on him is crazy. Everyone grieves in their own way but find a better way lol tf

For people who made it this far, I just wanna say that this show is so re-watchable for all the little things. Example is Dr. Langdon, specifically, there are small tells that he is abusing/addicted to Librium. When we first see him, he is consistently leaning/stretching his lower back at the start of the day, is noticeably irritable at slight inconveniences, shows outright hostility to Santos (who worked in a pain treatment center and would know the signs of painkiller addiction) when she starts to suspect him of addiction and seeks to undermine her credibility the second he knows her background. It cast a whole new light on Santos and Langdon's interactions for me. That made Season 2 that much more enjoyable because of seeing these little details. Anyway, can't wait for Season 2's reaction!

Absolutely loved this season and being able to gain insight into what could be happening behind those hospital doors and how working in the medical field can take a toll on people in different ways. Here's the thing with the David story line Robby isn't saying that Mckay is wrong but it did get turned into a mess and her situation with the ankle monitor is a sort of mirror to it whatever she did she did something that ended in a restraining order and an ankle monitor which she, for valid reason, tampered with and disabled then didn't take the call with the probation officer called the hospital to try and find out where she is. But she's a doctor so she's getting special treatment. David needed help not imprisonment and McKay treated him as if he had already started working down his list from the moment he didn't answer his phone the first time.
