YESSSS EPISODE 2 YESS

Inconspicuous Pug

It would be hilarious if the show subverted expectations and by having Korra actually fuck up massively and deserve all the hate 😭

Euphoria Cutie

Nisha kinda has Korra’s personality and Pavi has a lot of Aang’s personality.

Ok Nisha is Toph incarnate...I'm ready for her to wreck shop and make her great great great great great great great great great great great great great great gre-

Jamaal Ellison

That would be so disappointing to see. That girl didn't deserve half the hate she got and her greatest sin was not being Aang. Her situation kind of reminds me of John Walker from Falcon and the winter soldier, they hated that dude, the minute he came on screen, because he wasn't Steve Roger's, nothing he could have done would have won people over.

Afrobushidohub

......Great great great grandmother proud

Wizard Michael

It’s mainly because she was a woman let’s be so fucking for real right now. Aang constantly fucks up as avatar but Korra does the same shit and gets 50 times the hate. Not everyone who doesn’t like her is because of that but a looooooot of it was especially when the show came out. Same way Kataras name was dragged through the mud

King97

Damn it ain't that far lol

Jamaal Ellison

I think we are on the same page. People really had their blood boiling over the "I'm the Avatar, you have to deal with it" scene. I never felt that way; I was just happy to be back in that world. I feel weird about this show. I feel about this show the way many people felt about Korra, and it isn't because she is female; I think it is a combination of many different things, and her gender is not one of them. I'll be honest, and you can judge me if you want: I feel like the missing leg is one of the things that bothers me. It just feels overdone or unnecessary. Rather.

IanW645

So a theory I've heard that fits so far is that the ominous diamond thing is a manifestation of corrupt Chakra energy born out of the people's fear instead of part of Vaatu. Think about it: This thing spawned out of the middle of the city during a terrifying crisis and then ignored so many easy targets and instead chose to lock specifically onto the coward that ran? Elora has a huge theme about "Survival" and according to Guru Pathik from ATLAB what is Survival blocked by? Fear.

@llM1ghty

No. The fans hate Korra.

Lilac Flute

Did y'all see how futuristic Republic City looked in those quick flashes 👁️👁️

N

can’t wait for karthik to die

Afrobushidohub

Wasn't it like 300 years, I honestly think I need more Greats 😅

Moeist Seza

kyoshi was alive for over 200 years. so it’s possible Korra did the same.

Fuji

yeah one of them is probably gonna be the dark avatar, them meeting in twilight, the cats being light and dark, the opposite personalities hell even the names too but maybe she doesnt have to be evil per say.

Saphthings

My guess is that Vaatu is also being reborn now, and the hate for Korra is bc she freed Vaatu and started this whole dark avatar thing, and they're scared of avatars because it could be the dark one, and one girl has Raava, one has Vaatu. I don't know if that's too complicated or where they're going with things and so curious to see lol

Hatty Time

Lol any criticism of the LoK, the diehard defenders can only go to "It's sexism." The show had legitimate issues that wasn't solely Korra. Korra's biggest flaw was the writers forcing a terrible love triangle that actively harmed character's likability. Korra's arrogance is a flaw that can be welcomed as the show actively has her getting her ass beat to humble her and she grows from there. The show itself suffered from the limited seasonal approval from Nick that kept each book focused on a main arc, but leaving a lot of important story beats rushed or never touched upon again.

Jalan

Nisha is just like Korra. Confident, aggressive, hot tempered. Pavi is just like Aang. Passive not as confident and doesn’t want to be the avatar. She feels very warm and one with the environment and spirituality

lord aang

Its been 225 years since Legend Of Korra Season 4

Sam

I agree, Nisha does feel more like Korra and Pavi, Aang. This was a good ep too! Haha, I'm with Roshi, don't make me fall outta love with Air Benders

DJ Muldrow

My only complaint so far is that they went to far on the “kid show” aspect of the Avatar franchise, plot is amazing so far but the dialogue feels like nick jr and not nick toons.

Lezu

No way Korra died recently within the last decade. "Vaatu" def been spawn camping. At least four already, because the "base" of the avatar goes in a cycle. Roku was fire, Aang was air, Korra was water, then the next would be earth, fire and so on, but the time since Korras death -> the havens -> twins seems like it's been a while. Unless the twins got sealed and unsealed like Aang.

RF

When Korra pulled out the new Raava out of Vaatu she started a new Avatar cycle from the one that Wan did. Which is why she can't access her past memories, since she became the new "first Avatar". Her uncle also tried to become the dark Avatar with Vatuu. . . So you know. Make of that what you will

Wizard Michael

Oh there are plenty of issues with the show, I’m specifically talking about the reception the character of Korra got early on

Gilthwixt

Only fake fans hate Korra

Balenciagason

john was a merc and government dog of course he was never gonna be accepted, he roid raged killed the wrong person which allowed the leader and actual killer of Lamar to escape not even close to a good comp bro tried to decapitate Sam for no reason lmao

Doctor

Bro stop sexist and take a shower

Gilthwixt

Damn, that last part is brilliant. It also happens to be the Earth Chakra. I went and looked up the rest, assuming the pattern holds true for the other 6 havens, we're going to see: - Water/ Pelvis / Pleasure vs Guilt - Fire / Stomach / Willpower vs Shame - Air / Heart / Love vs Grief - Sound / Throat / Truth vs Lies - Light / Third Eye / Insight vs Illusion - Thought / Mind / Spiritual Energy vs Earthly Attachments

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨❤️‍🔥

'maybe the fire nation was right' is crazy roshi- 😭 sheera had to come in with the real real quick but then said only pro water and earth propaganda lol- gotta remember the reason tagah lost it in the movie was cuz the earth kingdoms brutality during his time, so really its just a people problem 😬 but wbk

@llM1ghty

I’ve never seen a main character getting L’s on all 4 seasons and getting beaten from NPC villains. Except for Zaheer, he’s a great character.

Ryley Alger-Hempstead

From what I've seen around (not spoilers), I believe Korra was the longest living Avatar, I think 273 years old when she died. Then Pavi and Nisha are 9, so it’s 282 years since Korra was born. The major assumption going around is that Korra died in the event that caused the cataclysm, but then most people would still remember her and the cataclysm would have only happened 9 years ago- not enough time for history to become mythologized like it has been. So I would say the cataclysm probably happened ~100 years before the start of this show

vesra

There have been several other characters in the Avatar universe who were physically disabled; the boy from ATLA who was in a wheelchair yet had a glider, Ming Hua from TLOK had no arms, Combustion Man had a prosthetic arm and leg, Toph is blind and there’s even been a female firebending Avatar who had no arms. Pavi missing a leg isn’t far fetched or overdone at all, and outside of the lore reason for why it happened (which we don’t know yet) it helps differentiate the sisters aesthetically.

Jamaal Ellison

I am a fan of the series and remember all the characters with disabilities, but I just do not like it for the main character. It just feels like a box being ticked.

RobertGill

24:17 pre kagurabachi conversation

Tbdovan

So much lost history in this world.

Jamaal Ellison

Sam and Bucky were rude and disrespectful to John from the first episode because he wasn't Steve, and you didn't know about his background until later on; he was also a product of the government that made him.

Two Cylinder

I am also thinking (or hoping) that Pavi and Nisha are gonna split and go down two different paths and it seems like if one was to become a villain it would be Nisha but i think it would be cool if it turned out Pavi was the one to go down a dark path. Like she loses all her hopeful/cheerfulness. That would be an interesting storyline to have 2 avatars and one of them be bad and one good

LiveLaughLoveZonZon

This is such a genuinely odd thing to say. Disabled children deserve to see themselves in main characters too

Sammy

They aint gonna do that, itd be completely unfair for Korra. She already gets alot of flack from fans over losing the past lives, something that wasn't even her fault.

collins

Yeah but if she was getting all Ws you'd be saying she is overpowered and lacks character growth🤦

Sammy

"Maybe the Fire Nation was right" yeeeaaaah Roshi?? 😭

poisonivybag

Not a big fan of the art style or animation but the story is interesting!

Devin B

I like that theory of them being sealed because there's no way for the world to get to this point in only 9 or so years

Unknown

How wild would it be that because it seems like hundreds of years had passed, ever since the latest known Avatar, the later Avatars have been snuffed out the moment they get found in different Havens?

Neji Hyuga

I’d be so happy with this because I do not like korra AT ALLL

Neji Hyuga

I’m a very proud Korra hater

Rajab

i agree 100 percent, i see too many people trying to defend it by claiming that it is a kids show, but avatar is more than that. still an interesting premise so far tho

@llM1ghty

Season 1: New Avatar who fresh out of the box and learning and experiencing failure. Give a Pass Season 2: Rude, Arrogant, uses the Avatar Power as a crutch and leaves the spirit world open know the consequences of the world. L Season 3: Again with the consequences of leaving the spirit world open almost killed her. L Season 4: Runs away from problem and knowing that nothing has been fixed. L Conclusion: Korra did destroy the world and severed all Avatar connections which created weak bending due to the opening of the spirit world.

Big Daddy Dre

She might’ve just been alive until recently kiyoshi was 230 years old when she died

Rosario Gold

I think the world being this way is because of the avatars too. That’s probably why the old world has tornadoes and that place that pavi revealed she was the avatar to Jeai looked like the old “pro-bending arena “ . I’m thinking it’s two avatar’s because whatever happened with korra split them ying and Yang , we still haven’t seen them in the avatar state

sol jam

Yep I think this is one of the valid criticism for it

Balenciagason

U didnt watch the show sam has not a single time bad mouthed john at all every encounter is either him politely declining or sfroghtbup trying to help him that was bucky and being disrespectful isnt ground to decapitate someone 😂

Big Daddy Dre

Kiyoshi was 230 years old so it’s not that hard to believe that Korra lived that long

sol jam

In their vision we see a tree that some people think its the tree of time so it could be that when the world ended some humans moved to the spirit world instead of the havens and those humans exist outside of time and the twins were there until leaving for some reason. Also I could swear I read somewhere that its been 300 years

Delinda Arts

how thick is Karthick's car?

KTRB7

Love when they're fighting a storm and fucking Ramiel from Evangelion shows up in my Avatar show.

KTRB7

I wouldnt be surprised if Pavi and Nisha were born right after Korra died and they just got sent forward in time somehow before it was made public they were the Avatars, which could explain why their memories are fuzzy and why the Avatar hasn't been around for a while. Everyone would have thought the next Avatar wasn't reincarnated after Korra. That or there actually was a pause in the Avatar cycle, which is cool too.

collins

If that is your conclusion for all that happened in each season then I know for a fact your media literacy is at the same level as a 3 year old.

The Round Table

I feel like one bending water & fire, and the other bending earth & air would've been so much cooler. When I first saw the trailer, that's what I initially thought. I'm still liking everything so far, though.

Ezra

The TV-MA rating in the corner is crazy, lol

Kreed

😂 Am I the only one who thinks Nisha keeps dropping villain dialogue? "We'd be unstoppable", "fix the world"?

Korra and Aang are nick shows but they aren’t really kiddy. The dialogue was mature for a nick show.

DJ Muldrow

3 episodes is too early to notices a theme? That’s like an hour of run time, they talk simple and slow like nick jr that’s a valid criticism.

@llM1ghty

Then give me a counter argument.

YUKI✩₊˚.⋆☾

Just to note ; it's been 225 years since the events of Korra. so it has been a very long time. But what makes it interesting is that even though it happened so long ago, they still talk about Korra and whatever happened like it's still fresh. So whatever actually happened was a very, very big deal and extremely critical.

Bob

"Together we can fix the world" you mean save it right...right?!😭

Deadly Silence

Glady, while you're pretty spot on for the first 2 seasons, you misinterpreted S3 and are just blatantly wrong about S4. Ultimately the portals being open did more good for the world, like reviving a nearly extinct culture, just because there was one bad apple doesn't make it an L decision. And ultimately, the destabilization of the earth kingdom ended up with having massive political change to the entire continent as ushering an age where the modern world has to coincide with spirits and nature, Korra mitigating human and spirit conflicts post series. S4 was nothing but Korra trying to get back into the fray via getting back to her old confident self, yes, she faced hurdles on the way to accomplish this, but her goal was never to just run from responsibility, that's a blatant lie.🤣

Taijen

Doubt, but I would respect the subversion

JustThatOtherDude

With that many greats, you'd think hoeing was genetic 😭

@llM1ghty

Thank you. Clearly a weak insult is not the best way to make a winning argument. In S3, the air nomads would have comeback in time, but pulling a Thanos snapping random normies into airbender is far fetched and a weakens the story. The Lion Turtle are the only being that can give bending. Then it became a genetic inheritance throughout the show due to the disappearance of the Lion Turtle.

Jamaal Ellison

You need to rewatch the first few episodes; John offered to work with them multiple times and they were rude, disrespectful, and flat-out dismissive. Finally, he told them to just stay out of his way because it was actually his job to be there, not theirs. As far as the decapitation goes, after he killed the terrorist, he had already snapped, so there is no justifying him trying to kill Sam Wilson; he had already gone too far at that point.

collins

The fact that you lied about korra running away from her problems just tells me you didn't watch the show with your eyes open. If it wasn't her leaving the spirit portal open air bending would still remain extinct. In season 4, you completely forgot that she was still recovering from her last battle that caused her to be crippled for almost 3 years and had severe ptsd and truama so for you to say that she was running away from her problems completely down plays her situation. And yes, some of her choices did some damage like giving zaaher air bending and that lead to the earth kingdom falling apart. But the problem with yall korra haters is that you only talk about the bad stuff that was directly or indirectly caused by her but don't have the same smoke for aang

Bryann Kam

Just a heads up, we do know of at least one Avatar who had a twin, Roku. He had an identical twin brother named Yasu, but he was born as just a normal firebender.

Zandreas Laluna

John's mere presence was disrespectful to Sam, The government played in his face and found the next best white boi they could find. How else was he supposed to react; let alone Bucky who wasn't surprised by it but still pissed off lol

Zanni

Y’all already pitting the child Avatars against each other already like dang

@llM1ghty

Now that’s a better counter argument. Why didn’t you started with that.

Perri

Nah, they fighting an Evangelion angel

nickhaze

npc villains? Aang never had to deal with the villains that korra had to deal with, aside from ozai and maybe azula. Obviously Zaheer and his squad were ridiculous. But Amon was a water bending prodigy who could blood bend at a level never seen before. Kuvira (not sure of the spelling) was one of the best metal benders in the world. These weren't no generic villains either, they had real world, dangerous ideologies. And she had to fight the literal spirit representation of darkness and evil, Vaatu, and got heavily traumatized for it. Yet everyone blamed her for losing the past avatars connection...I'll say it again, Vaatu is the DEVIL in avatar lore lmao aang didn't have to deal with none of that

Itsnickk

Nah she deserves all the hate

Has Noname

I think that’s valid criticism. Hopefully it does get more mature over time, but otherwise it’s pretty good so far

Delinda Arts

I’m asking the real questions

Mr.Comfy

ZANA?! is that you!?

Frankie

She only gets hate because she’s a woman, even the creators said so lmfao. Still baffles me that there’s this many fans who like aang and not korra as if that doesn’t defeat the purpose of the show

Nigel Douglas

Nisha reminds me of Korra. I like her already. She has that type of boisterous confident personality that can’t stand by while people are being hurt or knowing that they can help. Pavi took the Aang approach where you just try to avoid the responsibility and sit by while people are dying or starving until someone with actual passion and a sense of justice like Katara (or Korra) tells him what to do.

Carrie Love

Roshi huh😭. The fire nation wasn’t right. A few bad apples doesn’t disgrace the airbenders name. The fire nation has a long dark history.

.jazbati

it's for sure vaatu

Carrie Love

I love Aang but I don’t hate korra. Korra show has flaws but it’s a great show.

vesra

To add to this: The seven chakras are all represented by a color that you can see in the opening sequence and in the festival play in episode 1 Earth (Root Chakra) - Red Water (Sacral Chakra) - Orange Fire (Solar Plexus Chakra) - Yellow Air (Heart Chakra) - Green Sound (Throat Chakra) - Blue Light (Third Eye Chakra) - Indigo Thought (Crown Chakra) - Violet Also in the episode list, the final episode of Book One is titled 'The Root Chakra'.

vesra

I also peeped that they showed a still of Republic City featuring the third spirit portal that opened in the middle of town - I think that played a huge role in causing the cataclysm. The world was already in balance with two portals, so having a third probably made things too chaotic to last long term.

vesra

225 years since TLOK - my gut tells me Korra died in her 40's meaning it's been 200 years of chaos. I think the twins were born late instead of right after Korra died, meaning the world was without an Avatar for a long ass time.

Dexter Gaba

Uhm, you are not defending John Walker right LOL Cuz that guy is a dick . Nobody is ever going to rise the Cap, but John Walker has many faults.

Dexter Gaba

Yeah, it definitely wasn’t women hate back when it was airing. People genuinely are allowed to be mad that the past avatar cycles have been lost. Whether their anger is misguided are not is another story.

Amir

I still love korra idc lol. #Everything4plot

rayman

idk why they made them live that long, that’s an unfathomably long time for a human, can’t even comprehend that long. She’d see people she knows to be born and die of old age like 3 or 4 times over

Jarrell Marquis Lewis

What constant fuck ups does Aang make as avatar? I don't remember him and Korra making the same mistakes, especially when the creators purposefully wrote Korra to be the exact opposite of Aang. I'm also curious about the Katara slander you encountered, because I've seen multiple people try to defend Korra by saying people hate on her "just like they did Katara", but those people never produce evidence of any similar Katara hate.

Kirk Perry

I love how no one gives her credit for bringing air bending back. Learning spirit bending. Growing as a person. She dealt with threats Aang couldn’t handle easily either.

Ja'Bree Costen

“OMG WE CAN’T HANDLE IT, WE NEED THE AVATARS”, Who?🤔 Yo I can’t with Roshi😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Connor Dhillon

I've been wondering if it'd be cooler if one could bend two elements and the other could bend the other two elements but I'm not sure how that'd turn out

Blazingku

Karthik and Nissan are giving simba and Kira’s vibes in the beginning

Oshane Braham

I gotta disagree the really early episodes of atla is childish

King J

Most definitely not because she was a woman...

deesuschrist

Aang nor Pavi lack passion, and they even more so don't lack a sense of justice, if they did then no amount of anyone telling them what to do would've been enough. Lacking things like the courage necessary would be more accurate Also, there kinda seemed to be an undertone of disrespect there. Don't you EVER disrespect my boy Aang again ! /j

john

korra fucked the world so hard that cycle said nah we need two of them to fix whatever the fuck this is.

General Grevious

I’m curious to see how the avatar state is going to work with them

TheBoyWonder

Aang literally almost died and ended the avatar cycle himself and it would have happen if not for plot. Firstly he couldn't let go of the girl he loves that mind you he only knew for less then a year and chose her over his duties as the avatar which he already went through the entire show trying to make up for him running away from his responsibilities the first time. Then he nearly dies from azula and is saved by magical healing water. If katara had used that water on zuko then aang would have died and the avatar cycle would have been lost forever and the fire nation would have taken over the entire world. There's also other mistake's he made but this comment is already long enough. Point is those story point are still good but aang has fucked up as the avatar and gets a pass because its aang but korra does it and it makes her one of the worst characters in fiction. Why exactly is that fair? I don't even care if you like the show but at least criticize the show itself instead korra just because she isn't aang.
