The ending really isnt “bad” its not the best but i dont think anyone expected aot levels. The main issue is the pacing surrounding it. The arc was sorta messy and rushed but the anime can potentially fix that.

Something I've noticed during the intro and what seems to may happen, could be entirely wrong and honestly would rather be wrong to avoid a numbnut spoiling underneath but why it look like there's different versions of Mikey? Like in different universes. I always gotta remember that this dealing with time travel so thought it'd be some crazy way of ending this series

It’s not super clear in the English because it just says Mr Hanagaki, but the woman at the DVD store called him “tencho” which means manager. So even if he’s still at the store, at least in this timeline Takemichi has a slightly better job with slightly better pay lol. Making way less than when he was a gangster though

Erased is a much more accurate comparison. When this show first came out back in 2021, my first impression of it was "Erased + delinquents". Both about bums in their 20s somehow traveling back in time to stop the murder of a girl from their childhood.

The final arc fell off hard. Especially the last few chapters and the ending. Reading that week to week was...interesting. Sales and quality are different things. TR sold moderately fine the first 5 years it was being published, then had a HUGE spike in 2021-22 when the anime came out. It's been really financially successful, but I don't think I've heard a single person say the ending was good. I think a huge reason behind it's success is that it introduced a much larger audience to the delinquent genre of anime/manga, which has always been there but may not have gotten as much spotlight.
