We've finally reached one of my favorite enemies and stands in the entire series with Oyecomova and his stand "Boku no Rhythm wo Kiitekure" (The longest name in the series to date!) I absolutely adore how truly batshit his design is, even for Araki! The blindingly white skin, dark U.S. Flag makeup, and clock tattoos paired with his cap with his dreads poking through the top and a bug shield to cover his face. Topping it all off with the open vest, skirt and boots... I remember him and Lang Rangler from Stone Ocean were first characters that made me question if Araki was on something when creating them! 💀 He basically has a weaker, but insanely versatile and long range Killer Queen, and the fact that he was so proficient with it after only having it for 4 days and experimenting with it for like a day or two is astounding! He genuinely crafted scenarios that I can't imagine how other JoJo's would overcome without grievous injury, like the wasp and cigarette smoke bombs, his potential is truly terrifying! 🕓💣 This is also the very last battle of the weekly manga schedule, after this JoJo officially swapped from a Shonen to a Seinen focused series and has been releasing monthly ever since! Last thoughts, I'm glad that Gyro's "One More Shot!" was given the respect that it deserves! The throw and Oyecomova's face being hit so hard that the bug screen carved it are two of my all time favorite pieces by Araki, it's so visceral! (Fun fact: the move is Gyro's "Level 1" in the CyberConnect2 JoJo games! 🥎)

2026-10-19 11:00 Oyecomova is a musical reference to the song “Oye Como Va” (Tito Puente, famously covered by Santana), with his secondary thematic/stand ability by the same name but in English means “Listen to My Rhythm” parallels to the original-universe character Santana from part 2 (and, to a lesser extent, Kira’s Killer Queen bomb power from part 4.) Stand Names don’t transfer over to the dub due to copyright being named after real musicians and bands, so they’re localized with a different name. Also JoJo’s characters are obviously not normal humans so they automatically heal after a stand enemy attack and its user has been dealt with as the effects wears off that Gyro pointed out. Safe to say next Ep is when the Holy back-to-back masterpieces begins. Peak backstory and true plot reveal incoming.

Exactly 10 years ago on October 16, 2016 from when this episode came out a few days ago I was at my grandmother’s house as I typically stood at for the weekends where I casually and religiously watched Toonami, and what premiered live that very night for the first time to the Western world was JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. I had seen images from as early as the late 2000s and recommended it in 2014, what got me hooked was that unique atmosphere along with the characters/colors, style and the ED outro “Roundabout” that was a famously English song unlike anything done for an anime I knew this series would be special and that was a profound understatement. It only took me until the end of part 3 to see that it’s peak anime and part 5 to realize this is peak TV/entertainment media, when I found out that it only gets better and better it just confirmed and solidified it. The series is so ingeniously creative, and unique that there’s truly nothing like it and the best part is it’s a reflection of our whole world as a reference to everything while being like nothing else. I love letter to humanity and a complete freedom of expression. 1. The Flamboyantly Masculine style. 2. The real world and musical references. 3. The unique story and characters. 4. The ever evolving quality of one upping itself and art styles. 5. The OST 6. The cosmopolitan culture and shifting plot genres. 7. The strategic tactical fights and power system. 8. The Bizarre humor. 9. The Adventure. 10. The raw brutal nature of it all. This is the appeal of JoJo’s. Embracing psychological and fashionable freedom, not giving a damn what the world has to say or think of you as a man. Will A. Zepelli from part 1: "Courage is to look your fear in the eye and know that it has no dominion over you, bare your soul hold nothing back less you not survive beyond this moment" Its to walk into the uncertain darkness as evil and fallacious societal judgment in the face running straight into it and dancing while saying "You're Nothing!, I will become who I so please and redefine this world of man" that's the essence of JoJo's.

also fyi for any manga readers that may be concerned about omitted content, keep in mind that the anime might just be saving certain reveals for later. so don't worry too much about stuff being skipped just yet.. please don't spoil it for them

W on checking the subtitles. Live action shows have this issue too, for example Alice in Borderland you guys had the bad subtitles on for the reactions. The CC or Closed Caption subtitles tend to match the English dub, which itself tends to favour speech that syncs better to the actors' lips or the drawing's mouth, rather than linguistic accuracy. Even then, the world of subtitles is insane, people will argue endless about which subtitles are good to use or even "correct", makes anime a bit intimidating sometimes though. So don't let anyone give you too much grief over subtitles!
