One of the best Iroh moments. One of the times he put his foot down and talked to Zuko about what he's doing. Zuko's been lost all this time about himself and Iroh is now making him decide to confront himself.

Just letting you know the comet doesn't come until next summer. They've only been in Ba Sing Se for a little over a month last episode with appa it said four weeks ago so only a month. They have more time than you think before the comet.

Zuko is looking for his fathers approval. Throughout all these episodes Zuko has been unloved and treated like shit by his dad. His biggest dream is to reclaim his destiny which really is just being told by his father how much he is proud of him. And restoring his honor amongst his family. That child hood trauma is real for Zuko and that scar leaves and even deeper pain.

The only reason Katara was able to beat Zuko back in the northern water tribe was because she had the moon. If it was daytime Zuko would have easily won. Plus she was in her element with the snow and tons of water all around her.

Um, no. That logic is innately flawed. Then by that same reasoning, the only reason why Zuko would win in a fight against her is because the sun is out. They are evenly matched in battle. Zuko is not a firebending prodigy. He's talented but not enough to be stronger than Katara.

Apparently you didn’t read my comment. I said katara easily beat Zuko because she had the moon. If it was daytime then Zuko would of beat katara because he would have the sun. Like I said the odds were stacked against him because she had plenty of water to use and the moon was out. Apparently you people can’t understand a simple comment. I never once said either of them was simply just stronger than the other. Katara did not beat Zuko on an even playing field. They would be about even give or take if it didn’t come to the sun or moon giving them strength.

We got that triple threat book 2 finish now. Episode 18’s first 5 minutes is one of my favourite set pieces in the series. The action, music and animation is dope.

If you really think Zuko could beat katara after book one when she couldn't fill a cup with water, then you are delusional. Zuko had to go all the way back to the basics because his mind wasnt right. He is a clumsy fighter(until later). Plus the water tribe were beating the firebenders not just because of the moon silly. They started losing because the moon was GONE so they didn't have powers, and NOT because the sun was out. Pls rewatch everything because you are seriously lost on a kids show, geez.

I believe when they bend the rocks, they control the density and volume. Hence why some can even break with a boomerang or an arrow, but that rock slide was for "The Kill"

You're the one who seems to have forgotten that during Zuko and Kataras fight over Aang at the spirit oasis, once the sun had risen Zuko took Katara out with one hit. Not to mention literally all the conflict scenes between the water tribe and the fire nation show the fire nation gaining ground during the day and the water tribe pushing them back during the night. Logan Campbell is completely right, Zuko and Katara are more or less evenly matched and its the sun and moon that play a major factor during their battles. Sounds like you're the one who needs to rewatch the show.

Zuko won because of a SURPRISE attack. Zuko doesn't master the true nature of fire until later on, and by then you should know katara was too OP with her bending abilities...I cant even tell you the many ways zuko is childsplay for her without spoiling. Also, i went back and did rewatch, and a major plot point of the whole invasion was because the fire nation knew they couldn't beat the northern water tribe, so "Zhao" went to the library to find the only way to win. Anyway, im done.

And in regards to the fire nations invasion of the northern water tribe. Iroh warns zhao that attacking at night is futile because the moon cycle is nearing the full moon. If it was any other time of the month the fire nation probably would’ve had the advantage. Attacking water benders nearing and during the full moon is obviously a bad idea but zhao didn’t care because he has his plan of removing the moon so he obviously didn’t think it mattered what stage of the cycle the moon was in. Your point is completely invalid.

My guy, she "turned around", (I will say again, and remind you to watch again), She turned around and seen a fireball coming. People have this thing called "reflexes", and she could not determine how powerful the blast was going to be because she did not consider the sun rising because of the matter of protecting aang, with whom she was walking towards. Same concept as if you touch a martial artist from the back, they may or may not counter , but they will not be able to gauge the strength of a foe without seeing them. Also, now you are spoiling the season two finale dude, and if i were to spoil any future endeavours, it would definitely seal this case considerably.

All I am saying is Katara would not have been able to beat Zuko like she did if it weren't for the moon and the abundance of water to use around her. Unlike fire benders the water benders normally need some type of source of water to bend. If she didn't have the moon and plenty of water to use than it would of turned out different. Katara had only just begun mastering water bending at that point. Zuko had previous years of training from Iroh even though he gets much better later on in book 3 where he learns true fire bending. Back at that point where Katara beat Zuko if they didn't have either the sun or the moon than it would of been about even. I would honestly still place my bets on Zuko because he still had more training than Katara at that point.

@logan the initial statement of "Nah", was in contrast with your statement, "The ONLY reason katara beat zuko....was because she had the moon". You are correct when you state that she wouldnt have beat him "Like she did" if placed in a different environment. Also, the scenario with no sun or moon would leave them w/o abilities and zuko would definitely win, based on his sword and hand to hand combat, but back to your OP. the final "Nah: association with your statement, "...If it was daytime Zuko would have easily won." is also false which was explained in the novel me and @smug wrote. Anyway, its all avatar love no hate.
