Doing my annual ATLA rewatch by watching these reactions instead. The conversations they have after each episode are sooooo *chef kiss* goooood!!! Massively massively enjoying this. Of course I remember the first time I saw Toph metalbending I blew a gasket

Tibbers

I might be repeating myself here but, this is such a good show!

Wolf
>>110402488

I’m actually 3 episodes behind but saw this comment lol literally doing the same thing. The commentary makes it funnier.

Arkan Matlub

Toph skating is such a hard scene

ViralCorgi

Azula is terrifying because she's just not only powerful, she's a genius strategist as well.

User100

One of my FAVE eps. Toph learning to metal bend is EVERYTHING

>>36587040

Oooohh, I never thought about it that way...but that makes a lot of sense! I love this view on it because it means Toph didn't just learn it because she was inherently better than for example Bumi (which I think would be probably a smudge before her in "pure" Earth bending), but because she was the only one that had the skills to discover that it was actually possible😯

This is easily one of my favorite episodes of avatar based on the visuals alone. Also Toph metal bending was pretty badass.

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

Such an interesting way to remark on the subtle bending possibilities that we've been seeing since the start of the series. Earth having an alignment with metal or the bending of sand, Fire with Lightning for example. It goes to show the real possibilities of bending if some of the benders in Avatar were creative enough to push the bending to the extremes.

Domi

"Aang's not that kinda avatar tho. He's forging his own ninja way." - EXACTLY, this guy gets it.

Omar Harriott

Sheera spit facts thats exactly what the guru meant😂😂 he could've said that tho tbh

Mr. Toastman

Btw, metalbending requries "seismic sense". You need that ability to sense earth and vibrations that Toph uses to "see" so you can sense the impurities in metal. Because of that, other earthbenders couldn't have learned to do it through sheer effort.

Indie Programmer

"I can't bend metal, guess I'll just stay in this prison" lmao im dead

Belt Cedd

The scene of Toph inventing metal bending is still my favorite moment in the whole show. "Phew, Toph you rule. BAM!!!" Still so good after all these years.

godUsoland

Toph metal bending is easily one of my favorite moments of Book 2. Zuko and Iroh were peacefully minding their own business lol. If only Katara didn't stop for tea.

Travis

the kanker sisters LMFAOOOO I CANT WITH YALL

Robinson

Nigga said twilight zone😂😂😂

Rcl

This dude Lupa got me wheezing talking about Suki being butt ass naked with just face paint lmao.

Austin Yun

Greatest earthbender alive.

CuteAdorableDog

the reason she could teach her self to bend metal is cause of her abilities to sense vibrations and other things so she could sense all of the individual minerals in the metal

Shamar

That transition where they were talking about how all elements are connected and showed toph metal bending made me tear up man. I love this show

Shaw

What Roshi is trying to say is that If Aang mastered the Avatar State there wouldn't be a Book 3. And he's right. :)

HesOneShot

One of my FAVORITE episodes from Book 2

Marquese DeBoe

The man lupa said and obito and rin but we saw how that went

Eugene Conner

I find Ang's belittling of the phrase "cosmic energy" with his spirit fingers in comparison to Kitara HILARIOUS! Like c'mon man, it's not even a question. lol

Alex cleveland

These Naruto references are so relevant to these Avatar eps that is crazy, and too hilarious at the same time😂

Rcl

Brian and Mike the two creators of Avatar obviously love Star Wars. Aang leaving early from the training is similar to Luke leaving Yoda. I will post other Star Wars similarity once I know I wont spoil anything in season 3.

>>36595830

Dont forget Dave Filloni was involved in the show also, he created Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels

Lyric Laude

Fun fact. The 7 chakras are a real study and practice that orginated in india. Everything the monk said was part of that.

kurumi Tokisaki

The birth of metal bending <3, On another note, toph always self taught herself. She was trained only the super basic techniques. She is a prodigy and the greatest.

Senjioh

And that's why Toph is best girl, metal bending god.

SoreDakeNoKoto

That's the intent though: the Avatar State is supposed to be a cheat code to make the Avatar nigh unbeatable by any single bender, empowered with all the knowledge and skill from their past lives. The Avatar wouldn't be nearly as respected and feared across all the nations, if they were any regular old bender. And if you recall, this cheat comes with its own massive drawback that ensures the Avatar doesn't use it constantly, only at times of great need: if they happen to get killed in the Avatar State, the cycle will be broken forever.

HollowedSlayer

Every episode Roshi's love for Toph grows exponentially lol Most badass character for sure.

Malcolm Hughes

Toph with her HM04 Strength and TM28 Dig.

Jaime Ruiz

Look at you looking like a fucking IDIOT!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHH!! jk

MrNoor114

Toph was feeling the vibrations of the minerals within the metal cage and when she felt it she controlled it like how the guy in the swamp controlled the vines because there was water in the vines.

Taimak Saunders

I legitimately appreciate how roshi keeps tryna kill off characters based on assumptions. It's a really refreshing sense of morbidity. Lmaoo

Jay M
>>36595830

Also they had the Death Star reference as a ball hanging outside that bar at the Misty Palm Oasis and the sandbenders are inspired by Star Wars as well

Squartoise

Sheera is mad perceptive, she got the final chakra meaning quick. A large portion of the fanbase is confused by it and how an Avatar can love anyone.

Medunuuu

Y’all sound more surprised than I thought about the 7 chakras. Have you guys really never heard of them?

logan
>>36646631

But doesn’t make good story if the avatar has it early

logan

He said let go, Aang said “but......pussy”

RM

Fun fact: Going deeper into chakras, when Aang was opening each one, the placement of his hands while meditating specifically represented each chakra in real life. Sidenote, Lupa got me dead lmao. Never fails to make me laugh watching these reactions.

Zavooloo

i love their reactions to toph bending metal and blasting off like it was nothin' cuz those were my same exact ones the first time

John

Katara to old for aang any way lol she look like she would be like a big sister or a mother figure to him.

Oui Oui
>>39851567

Do you ever think before commenting? Aang is 112 years old. Even if he wasn't 112 Katara would be 2 years older than him

Oui Oui
>>38729787

I don't know where you got your info from but a "large" portion is incorrect

Oui Oui

He trusted the "Kyoshi Warriors" because everyone vouched for them

Chimpman
>>39851567

Bro, you're an idiot. She is only 2 years older than him. Not even a full 2 years, at that.

BrooksHOF TV

She likes to state the obvious I see

Brandon

I just recently joined your Patreon and I love you guys' reactions!! I also love Sheera's insight, I swear sometimes it's like she's psychic!! When one of the kidnappers said "even you can't bend metal!" and you guys asked if that was a challenge and Sheera says "it's an element isn't it? aren't there minerals in metal?" I just died. Sheera is bae!

haywood banks

Love this subscription, recommendeding to all my people

magentoe

fully agree with sheera on the whole letting go thing with aang. we already saw how off the rails he went after losing appa.

Emma

Azula really said, you know what while I'm here, I might as well conquer Ba Sing Se. For funsies... Overachieving psychopath.

Ale D. Schuberg

Lupa just too funny man, how you do my man obito like that in the outro lmaooo

Ryn

*Aang fear montage* Roshi: What it's like to chew 5 gum... Me: *puts the 5 gum back* rofl that line was hilarious xDDDDD

Nezuko Thicc

Toph, the first metal bender ever
