Yeh Sheara definitely watched ahead the moment they threw Zuko in the prison she talking about "She gonna heal him" THERE'S LITERALLY NO INDICATION OF THAT HAPPENING

Terry King Jr
>>100906605

Avatar's writing is good but it's predictable if you know even a little bit about writing, which it seems Sheera does based on her predictions and relatively quick understanding of most plots.

Tijay Carroll

the water prob wouldnt work on Zuko scar anyway. after she healed Aang he still had a scar on his back

Noctis lucis
>>100906605

Thank you. I love these reactions but this was hard to listen to lmfao she DEFINITELY watched this or heard about it 💀

Trenton Murray
>>100906605

Im pretty sure she was just referring to normal healing after the fight zuko just had. I dont think she watched ahead.

Dillon
>>100906605

Literally lol, if she mentioned the special water I would think she watched ahead, she's been saying this since forever. These peeps just slow.

Michael Pamon
>>39852339

Forgive me for commenting on your comment that’s three years old, but everything you just said is wrong. Him hunting the Avatar is the path his DAD chose for him. He was only hunting Aang to please Ozai. Iroh was literally trying to get him to create his own path and be his own person and want his own goals. He literally tells him that when he caught Zuko trying to take Appa. He doesn’t truly learn what he wants until season 3.

lyn
>>100906605

If you have good media literacy and can catch onto tropes pretty quickly it wouldnt be a hard thing to predict tbh; Im watching it for the first time with my bf and i predicted katara healing (or at least wanting to) zuko. Its a pretty common trope of the heroine reaching out to a troubled anti-hero/villain

Michael H
>>100906605

Lol that prediction is a layup. How is her guessing that in any way shocking?

Matthew Grant
>>100906605

I'm also pretty sure she wasn't referring to Katara physically healing him, she meant helping him along the path he'd been on the last couple episodes

ViralCorgi

Azula said she aint no anime villain. She's not gonna sit through a transformation/power-up 💀😂😂😂

ViralCorgi

It's kind of crazy when you think that Azula did in a couple of days what the Fire Nation couldn't do in 100 years

Wild
>>132625730

to be fair they were brute forcing thru everything and once they hit a wall (quite literally) they couldnt brute force it, and azula was only able to infiltrate the earth kingdom thanks to finding out that the kyoshi warriors were a thing

ViralCorgi
>>132625730

imo the infiltration was the easy step. That could have been done in a multitude of ways. But accomplishing the goal of taking control of the Dai-Li is where it showed her genius. She's a hardcore strategist that can plan 10-steps ahead and immediately calculate how to weaponize every opening she sees. And she's also powerful enough to make those plans follow through. I couldn't really see any other character doing what she did here

Earphone Jack

I understand being disappointed in Zuko, but he still doesn’t deserve that scare.

Marijayne
>>39852673

I definitely shipped Zutara as a kid, but after rewatching it a few times I realized that it was just me who had a crush on Zuko and I wanted Katara to be with him because I loved her too, lol. They have some nice scenes in book 3, but ultimately I think Aang and Katara are the best couple. AO3 did have some really well written Zutara stories though.

Maseter
>>132625730

If we wanna be real world with it, the fire nation's intel section must suck ass. If there were hundreds of refugees being escorted in on a regular basis that shouldn't have been hard to find out about and even easier to start slipping agents in through that exploitable point.

Wild
>>132625730

The fire nation were intelligent but held back by their ideals of “were strong therefor we can brute force thru everything to show our dominance”

JulianV

i'm rewatching and remember them criticizing Korra for always losing, but Aang had a lot of pretty huge Ls too

Jess Min
>>132625476

No actually though, that scene will always had me jaw dropped 😭 she kind of real for that

muxakara!
>>154643704

i think the difference is that korra was in a way better position than aang when she first started. she had teachers from the beginning and was already bending 3 elements when she was half the age of aang. the fact that she was suited and battle tested and still went out sad as many times as she did i think is why people dog her for it.

Ballerizana

Thanks dropping 3 today appreciate it 🙏🏾😀

Chad Shipman

This episode is one of the best because it fucks me up every-time

Nicole

Been waiting for y’all to react to this episode 😂

Leo Elemantis

The lightning from Azula passed from Aang's back through his foot. It's pretty crazy.

Cody

Such a great episode, was watching your guys faces while Aang was floating, just waiting for the moment

Domi

Imagine being a 10 y/o watching this. It was the first time I'd ever seen a show kill its main character.

Anonymous

Yeah Azula literally shot Ang in the back with lightning... in the Avatar State. So for a bit, there would have been no more avatars. But luckily katara healed him with the special water which brought him back.

k978

I cannot wait for book 3 😆

Anonymous

Yep the Empire Strikes Back of Avatar. Think of Zuko and his honor as a drug addiction. In the start of book 2, he had to cut his hair and was forced to give up his drug. And when he made a truly good choice letting Appa go, that was the withdrawal stage. Conflicting between the drug (Going after the avatar and restoring his honor) or giving in to the good inside him. And for the last two episodes, he lived without the drug just fine. But as with any recovering drug addict if it were reintroduced to him, it's hella hard to resist. Azula knew that. She knew what buttons to push. So when he heard he could have his honor back, he relapsed. Really disappointing and sad I know. Loved this season. See y'all in book 3!

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

You're probably recording Book Fire by now but just for the record it took over 9 months before we finally got an answer to the aftermath of this tragic episode. Let me tell you as a kid it was crazy waiting for the next season to show up. But get ready Book 3 gets even better.

Belt Cedd

Azula said "No anime power ups for you!!"

Dimitri

My dislike for Zuko never fully went away, because of that 2 year hiatus right after this. I know now that Ozai and Azula are that actual bad ones. Reals ones will understand.

Andy-SauceGod

Just wait, next season going to be the best and if y’all like the fights now your going to love the next few that happen

Belt Cedd

Alot of people have already commented what I feel about Zuko and his Honor addiction so I won't repeat it. One thing I will say is something Roshi has said since the beginning. "They fucking with this kid for character development." 😔

godUsoland

Thanks for the drop! On to book 3! Ya'll should really check out the Avatar Season 3 Trailer before you watch the next episode. It was so hype, and the only content we have FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR.

Kingjasco

No matter how many times I watch this episode. I always prepare mentally cause I know zuko about to break my heart with disappointment.... damn

Kingjasco

Also Samurai JACK Was in this episode??!! Who else caught his voice ???

Joshua Curry

The bolt entered his back and exited his foot

Cablemonkey

Awesome reaction, was waiting for this “empire strikes back” episode. If you notice when Aang is falling after getting hit by the lightning, you can see the scar on the bottom of his foot where it left his body to get back to ground (in through his back, out through his foot). Love the little attention to detail like that. On to season 3!

Cablemonkey
>>36589391

Best trailer was the one for “the boiling rock” (second half of season 3) they showed at Comic-Con at the time. It had me so hyped for the end, you should try to find it when you’re all done, to avoid spoilers.

Andee80

I LOVE THIS REACTION SOOOOO MUCH!!!! Best Show Ever Vibes

Pedro

Zuko is not worse than azula.

Brody

after avatar you guys should really watch castlevania

LaShanda C Lincoln

You said Jesus Christ right as Katara is holding Aang post lightning bolt. It referenced the iconic Mary/Jesus imagery

botanbutton

Can't wait for Book 3, my favorite!

Rcl

Cant wait for your season 3 reactions. Especially 5 and 6. Those were the early episodes that I remember were so dope about season .

HesOneShot

“I don’t Love You No More” Lmaooooo 😂😭 Lupa Wild

Shaw

Aang tried to power up like it's DBZ but ain't nobdy just gonna stand there and just let him!

Rcl

It would be so hard to just betray the Fire Nation when the first 16 years your life you believed you were the "good guys".

HesOneShot

Zuko broke Roshi’s heart 😩😂 can’t wait til y’all see Book 3!

HesOneShot
>>36589391

Big Facts! It was pure hype! Don’t forget the Last 4 episodes of Avatar Special they had Nickelodeon!? That hype was REAL TOO

HesOneShot

They’re going to Love that PuppetMaster episode in Book 3 😂

SakuraBlossom
>>36588119

I was 10/11-ish years old during the wait and I remember being super afraid that the show had been cancelled. Thank goodness it didn't.

Rcl
>>36594768

The Firelord and Avatar episode is dope. Boiling Rock is another classic.

Shamar
>>36592570

Exactly, at least zuko has a heart and was willing to change

Castles

next season might be the best.

TheToweringOtakunt

Zuko has the best development arc in the entire show. And this little bit here is actually a piece of genius writing. If you think about it, from the beginning of the show, his life was defined by what he thought his father expected of him. His change after falling ill was him replacing that life with one he felt would meet with his uncle's approval. In both cases, he was simply denying himself and acting according to the expectations of others, knowingly or unknowingly. He's just oscillating between two paths of denial -- first his father's path, then his uncle's, and then his father's again. But even if one is a "better" path, it still isn't HIS path. He hasn't yet shouldered his responsibility to find his own. He's just been side-stepping the issue this whole time. Can't wait for you to see Season 3. :D

Davon Thomas

Yeah that was the death of the Avatar if not for the spirit water. The war essentially would of been over with no hope if Katara had used the water to heal Zuko instead.

clay

zuko is not worse lmao

Norrin Radd

Book 3 is one of the best seasons of TV/anime of ALL TIME!!!

Pedro
>>36592570

I get that they were pretty upset by Zuko, but that was really unfair. Just because Azula understands what she wants of her life that doesn't make her better than Zuko.

Cablemonkey

Just a note to US ATLA fans, Netflix will have all 3 seasons starting May 15th.

KM

I was so happy when I saw that Zuko betrayed Iroh. Not because it was the right thing for him to do, but because it was so much more interesting and less expected!! It also fits his character more; I can't see him giving up the chance to go back home when it's dangled right in front of him. This is one of the many episodes that sets this show apart from other cartoons or kids' shows. Can't wait for y'all to see season 3! I might like it even more than season 2, but they're both great for their own reasons.

Abraham
>>36600441

O lol I have the DVD’s I’m still waiting on the live action tho..

Alex cleveland

I understand Roshi, Sheera, and Lupsan on Zuko's decision. He was very confused at the time being; but he did pull a Benedict Arnold on his Uncle Iroh. So I completely understand y'all takes on Zuko and him choosing his sister Azula's pathway.

PS
>>36594567

Azula was smart she gave him what he always wanted while Iroh only had the Tea shop, and she gave him a choice.

DY

Zuko's nightmare pretty much foreshadowed his decision here. As others said, his decision makes sense even though it is disappointing. For context, imagine someone banishing you from the country you are projected to rule until you find an extinct animal that hasn't been seen for 100 years...in a world with 19th century technology. It is basically impossible to do and infers that his father had absolutely zero intention of ever letting his son come home. He picked an impossible task to ensure that his son never returned. Incredibly cruel. And the crazy part? Zuko spent THREE YEARS seriously trying to find the Avatar. A kid that desperate to return home was never going to change overnight. I can't help but think Iroh stayed near him the entire time thinking, "Maybe I can at least raise him to be a decent man. And in time, he will realize that he managed to escape the influence of an insane father." Despite the abuse, his father's expectations still drive a lot of his actions. Sad situation, but very well written and more realistic.

DY
>>36592570

Agree. Though I understand how they feel about it. If there are two people: one person you 100% know will make a negative decision and another who teeters back and forth, watching the latter choose a horrible decision makes your stomach turn.

Hoodlum JoeBro
>>36592776

Korra? Oh god, I can just sense the amount of hate comments at the ready when they react to it lol Everywhere I go that poor show is torn apart I’m the comments.

kurumi Tokisaki

Ya know, now that im actually watching this fight again(aang, zuko, azula, katara). Katara was handling business and aang started throwing up weak earthbending walls and kept getting knocked down. Aang had no upper hand in this fight. Katara on the other hand, nearly took azula out, and started with zuko, (and would have had him too contratrary to others belief). She even had enough energy to go octomode to try and fight the dai li. Great reacts though, and i cant wait for book 3.

Hoodlum JoeBro

This is my favourite episode to watch people’s reactions to. The joy of seeing Aang floating, the shock when he’s zapped by azula and the disappointment at Zuko. For a kids show, this is a pretty adult cliffhanger. Can’t wait for season 3 reactions, it’s got some of the most interesting episodes!

Narutofreak94

Honestly one of my favorite episodes. Just the shock factor it has on *everyone*

RiaDara
>>36603724

I like when it pays off at season 3. After seeing all this shit, people would realize that the real business starts in season 3 (and ends at it too).

Darius Johnson

I remember being a kid and watching this. Having to wait a year for season 3 sucked. Enjoying re watching this with y’all!

HollowedSlayer

"In the Avatar State, you're at your most powerful... but you are also at your most vulnerable...... If you are killed in the Avatar State, the reincarnation cycle will be broken and the Avatar will cease to exist."

Runner Up

The reason his shoe got blown off is because the lightning entered his back then (like any electrical charge) sought to reach the ground where the charge is 0, so it passed through his foot which was the quickest exit point.

Cleven Anthony

I realize this isn’t the place lmao but these episodes and all the action reminded me of nura rise of the yokai clan wonder whatever happened to that anime lol

John Jacob

Is it possible for people to just let them wonder about things instead of explaining everything after each episode? Every episode has like 5+ comments going over every detail.

Brandon Domer
>>36603701

Agreed, Aang relied too heavily on earth bending here where he hasn't even begun to master it to the point of Toph...Should've stuck with water and air

Gevin Tipsword

there is something that makes me feel iffy when Iroh say "its time to choose...good." then I hear Azula saying "I'll let you choose its your choice."

Mo

I completely understand how your feeling about how they are going to bring you back around on Zuko. Honestly I felt the same way and I low key still do sometimes. Aang is my favorite character though so that could be why. Azula is different so what she did didn’t change my opinion on her from what it was.

Tirth Patel
>>36625697

Yea so they could understand it better and if they're interpreting something wrong we can correct them, obviously without spoiling anything. They just let them know anything else that might make them love the episode even more. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

John Jacob
>>36625697

Let them interpret it wrong. No one who watched this show the first time understood everything. Let them wonder. Let them believe Azula bodied Aang so hard his shoes came off. If they have no problem with it, which I don't believe they do, then ok. Unless they specifically ask people what something means, I think we should enjoy their journey to the truth.

SakuraBlossom
>>36625697

I agree 100%. People are trying to control their experiences too much. They won't allow them to theorize and be wrong or right about things. I feel like the excessive explanations somewhat ruin the experience. It leaves no room for mystery at all.

Kurumi

damn y’all active in these comments 😂

Coco
>>36592776

People talk about that show like its the worse thing that exists, there's stuff I don't like in it but I don't hate it.

Arsean Wilbon

Get off my man Zuko like that! Lol

Lee

Man, they really did a good job showing Zuko's internal struggle for parental acceptance.

Joel Braaten

Ya'll really thought it was going to be that easy for Zuko to change lol. He has the wildest character arc in the show.

Bona Fide

this is always disappointing smh. Zuko man..

Ryan

dying at "she really blew his fucking shoe off". The show actually just does a really great job staying true to the laws of physics. Lightning will always exit another material through the closest path to the ground. Azula shoots Aang with lightning in the back so the closest path for the lightning to exit is straight down, aka through his foot.

tywnx

They both relapsed. It wasn't just Zuko who reverted back. Zuko and Aang dipped their toes at a possible different way to shape their own destiny, but unsure of what was at the end of the tunnel, came back to what was instilled to them their predestined duty forged by other people. It's easy to be disappointed at Zuko cuz he's been painted as a 'villain' since day 1but since Aang is on a pedestal, we automatically think his choices are justified when in reality he's equally a disappointment. It's so frustrating to watch cuz we want them to succeed so badly.. this hits tho.. help or no help, change happens if you want it for yourself. Season 3 character development would not be top notch if it weren't for this well written mess.

Alex Flores

The fact you think Azula has enough sauce to overthrow ozai

Thomas Birt

If Iroh was against Aang they would've been done for. He knew exactly where to find them the second he needed to.

Madison Hagan

I get so hyped everytime I see the scene where Iroh breathes fire. I love him.

Madison Hagan

Azula loves her father. She'd never overthrow him.

AK Jay

That wasn’t an afterimage 😂

RM

Fun fact: You will see it more clearly in book 3 if you haven't already, but if you look closely, Aang also got a scar on the bottom of his foot from the lightning. This is because lightning travels through the body closest to the lightning strike, through the body systems, and then exits farthest from the strike, which would be through his foot. Amazing how the writers did all this subtle research.

John

Dude Zuko all ways wanted this not what his uncle wanted its not realistic for him to randomly change or not be conflicted why would he help the avatar when his whole life was to capture the avatar. Y'all put the main characters on a pedestal but get mad at every little thing Zuko does. Zuko never wanted to be like his Uncle it was the path the uncle chose for him just like with aang. Azula been getting quadruple teamed by team avatar for the longest it just shows how big of a problem they are if she also had help with Zuko, if Iroh was on their side team avatar would be done for. 🔥

John

You can feel the sexual tension between Zuko and Katara lmao aang looks more like a little brother to Katara it dont make sense.

Megan M
>>39852673

This is what OT3s are for... You know adult Aang and Katara were hittin that

Chimpman
>>39852673

I don't know why I bother looking at comments. You keep commenting the dumbest shit. Super annoying. Zutara fans are actual cancer.

RJ

man this shit ain’t fair. y’all will never understand the anxiety of waiting a whole fucking year for Season 3 😭😭

Jay Herbo
>>39852673

I think he was tryna be funny cuz that’s almost exactly what happened in the play

Jayden

i loved this series this is so cool

CJ Dennis
>>40831450

I remember that. Not to mention the hiatus from the mid-season final to the actual finale in season 3 😂😂.
