There was no imbalance with the spirits Unalaaq literally manufactures the whole thing. She didn't need him to do that, if she had went with Tenzin she could've learned it the same way Jinora did. Also the *redacted* being restored was arguably the worst thing narratively the authors could have done for this franchise.

This episode is good overall...I love the backstory of her dad and uncle and the lore of the southern lights but when we get to the civil war the storyline gets much more intense.

nah its still a solid 5/10 at best the action saved it but the story behind both halves were so rushed and not well thought out. Don't get me wrong the concept was there just poor execution

I have no issue about they wrote her. The writers meant to make some completely opposite of Aang and they achieved that. They grew up different, have different goals and deal with different problems. What I like about Korra is that she is really strong but totally naïve.

There are plenty of terrible things worth watching, it's enjoyable to make fun of this show when it took something so incredible (ATLA) and turned it into Korra's Illogical Angsty Teenage Adventures. It's funny that this is what it devolved to.

Except this is Avatar, and they do this a lot. Hell, plenty of shows and cartoons have misdirects where someone pops up going "oh i'm here to help" and they end up being the villain. He constantly, repeatedly acts suspect af and shows all the signs of being manipulative. It's not subtle. And surprise, surprise, he WAS the villain and he WAS an asshole. Maybe don't criticize people when they use context clues to correctly guess the villain. Their distrust is logical and justified. You're just not as smart as them, I guess.

Unalag was sketchy from the start, and from the way he's presented it's pretty obvious that he's not a good guy.. I don't see why it bothers you so much when someone figures something out that you didn't. That's on you, not on them. Coming up with ideas and theorizing is part of the fun of watching shows like this with your buddies.. So yes that is asking a lot. You're basically saying "Hey! Change the entire way you react to shows because I'm insecure and I don't like it when you figure things out ahead of time!"
