It’s Crazy to me how Marko left Asami for Korra…she is too toxic for his taste and I don’t even recall him having any constant fights like that with Asami 😕

Well you can thank Pema's relationship advice for Mako not being with Asami for the whole show. If it weren't for her, Mako probably would've been lmao.

Please tell me ur posting episodes 7&8

Fun fact: They gave a backstory for the sports announcer on their website. He used to be a reporter who investigated the triads and exposed a lot of them. So he's actually used to highly dangerous and tense scenarios since the gangs of Republic City used to go after him to threaten him into silence. That's why he kept reporting even when the Equalist came into his booth last season since he is so dedicated to his job.

Let's be clear. Mako and the President are completely in the right. Getting your military involved in a foreign war that has nothing to do with your nation is dumb af. The fact that Iroh was willing to basically go AWOL and start a war against the orders of his commander in chief is incredibly fucked up. Jesus, they make so many characters unlikable this season. We haven't even gotten to the character assassination of Bolin.

Jonathan Jackson

maaaaaan, the relationship aspect of this show is so doo doo so far, so i hope we are done with all this melodrama

Bolin's "character assassination" is a bit of a overstatement, that's story progression. How boring it'd be if main characters never made mistakes because we don't agree. There'd be no variety at all, no gray area. Just good and bad, and that's not remotely realistic or interesting. If anything it's just predictable and safe. But otherwise I get your opinion here.

Faiz Khan

gloves would be hand socks not shoes

Faiz Khan

also I just love that Bolin deadass agreed to starring in a war propaganda film

what do you mean they're spoiled? they grew up with legends and tales and actual fact and history of avatars for hundreds if not thousands of years, all those statues in the air temples of 'past avatars' and ya say they're spoiled? the avatar was always the mediator of all worldly affairs and coming from a person trying to 'protect' freedom and democracy sees this as possibly one avatar going on a power trip for her own personal homeland and allegiances, and the president is still doing the right thing by investigating all angles, korra, northern tribe, slightly suspecting the souths innocence even with everything going on, etc ... so eh probably not spoiled.

kurumi Tokisaki

When this came out years ago, i was so glad when they broke up. It was getting annoying having her argue with everyone and her relationship was so toxic.

I have to agree with Mako with telling the president Korra's plan. There is no reason to send people to fight a war if there is no hard evidence of them doing the bombing. Korra is just being selfish at this point for not listening to Mako.

In regards to Mako's stance, it's a bit iffy for me since on some level, I agree with him, but also on another, I completely regard his stance to be naive in the grand scheme of things. Korra jumping to the conclusion that it was Northern Water Tribe that did the bombing is not far fetched based on what we've seen Unalaq is willing to do so far. He got Tonraq banished, rigged a trial, and manipulated Korra. So, from her point of view, based purely on how probable it is that Unalaq would order the bombing, I don't think it's THAT unreasonable to say that Unalaq did some other funky shit, including the bombings. However, I am also on Mako's side IN THE CASE of who actually did the bombing because there are practically no direct or hard evidence that it was the Northern Water Tribe. In fact, as you said, we have seen that Mako seems to have found evidence contrary to the suggestion that it was the Northern Water Tribe. With this in mind, Korra probably shouldn't have listened t o her "fast-thinking-attitude" and considered what Mako was saying. Mako, on the other hand, should have appealed to the fact that Korra is right about Unalaq and all that jazz, while also affirming that it isn't necessarily the case that the bombing itself was done by the Northern Water Tribe. This is because the war between The Northern Water Tribe and Republic City should have been a thing in the grand scheme of things, if you watched until the end of season 2. Korra's experience with Unalaq alone should have been enough to justify such a war, but it didn't. So it's a bit of a gray area that you're talking about and saying that "Korra is being selfish" is probably not that wrong, but it's also a bit shifty because Korra's experience kind of tells the story here, and she's using that as a basis.

Tenzin is by far my favorite character of this series. Also Mako is so right that it's almost comical how actually dangerous of an avatar Korra is. Girl is willing to sacrifice the lives of potentially many republic soldiers based on her suspicions as if they were her own personal military. Literally asking them to fight a proxy war for her

Alexa

Ive been having so much fun watching you guys react, I'm sad I'm almost caught up lol

Hbitz

lmao i forgot how garbage korra was no wonder i dropped it when i was watchin

Len

salami lmao

Season 2 was trash but the third season was actually ok

LK

I just noticed the statue of Sokka and his bumerang xD

John

I don't believe the people are spoiled is the reason why the avatar gets disrespected, its because the progression of the world for one, the avatar is not above the president or runs the military just because she is the avatar. She is still respected but that doesnt mean she can do whatever she wants. You still get brownie points for being able to date the avatar & so on and so forth though.. But she isnt a needed figure as for in the fire lord days.

CatBRO
>>40919805

Yeah, you could kinda draw a parallel to how religious leaders in our modern world in many countries are still revered but in no way like they were a few hundred years ago. They are not above the ruling government and non-religious people anymore. In a way the avatar is a religious figure, of an ideology of the elements and balance in a world that is in the middle of industrialization, technological and political advancement. (Republic city especially being a cultural melting pot with all different benders and their first democratic president)

CatBRO

He may have "snitched" on her but Mako did the right thing here ... ya'll acting like plotting to illegally take troops to take part in a foreign war is some kind of minor slip off. I get Korras frustration but that still isn't alright, and Mako was asked directly and swore an oath (something that should mean something) ...... People be complaining about corruption but suddenly hiding stuff, making false statements is fine when it's about friends and family 🙃

Jay Q

Just because she’s the Avatar doesn’t mean she can do whatever she wants. She isn’t above the law.

Munkee Man
>>43949897

The Avatar honestly should be. I mean, they're the Avatar. That used to mean something!.. I think. I guess there was still a lot of disrespect towards the Avatar's but I mean the Avatar is the master of ALL FOUR ELEMENTS! I remember learning that in ATLA and was like, "Yeah this kid is going to be the most powerful being on the planet" and he was! Yet everyone treats the Avatar's like they're just some simple folk.

Anonymous

The reason the avatar doesn’t get as much respect is because of how technologically developed and sophisticated society has become. You can’t just bend and kill everybody lol it’s actual law and court systems in place, presidents, militaries, police forces etc the avatar is becoming a outdated concept

Calvin Allen
>>47428776

But she was right the whole time. They should have listened to her and strapped up against the North

CJ Dennis
>>47428776

@Calvin Allen, that doesn't excuse her acting irrationally the way she does in this episode.

CJ Dennis

This is probably the worst episode of Korra, if not the most frustrating. Korra is acting irrationally and out of her emotions clouding her judgments. Her and Mako's relationship didn't work because of her constantly blowing up at him while he is trying to be more reasonable (They should have kept him with Asami for the whole show). It's ironic this episode is called Peacekeepers yet there isn't much peace between some of the characters lol.

>>40386148

That's literally how international politics work though. Heads of states and their representatives are always looking for allies to help them protect their borders and help them fight wars. That has been a thing for thousands of years and continues until today. Smaller nations have no choice but to get others to help them against larger nations. The alternative is to roll over and die. Larger nations have all the right in the world to ignore the pleas of smaller nations, but smaller nations have all the right in the world to ask for aid.

WackySwacky
>>47428776

@Calvin Allen it doesn't matter if she is right. She has to actually convince them that she is right. Which she is trash at.
