Remembrances | Legend of Korra Book 4 Ep 8

Comments

Markus Bryant

Everybody hates that she doesn't have access to her past lives anymore. But what would she have used them for? Roku was indecisive, Kyoshi was violent, Koruk was lazy, and any advice she could get from Yang Chen she can get from Tenzen. She has everything she needs between Zuko, Tenzen, Katara, Toph and her other trusted elders

Trey

I get that but theres like 10,000 years of avatar who can inform her about different things not just them and ngl Kuruk wasnt lazy he actually perfect to spiritual advice since he was mainly in the spirit world for the rest of his life

Unique

I hate this episode for the most obvious reasons but the creators did what they had to do to avoid laying off staff members

Brady

Nickelodeon coming in clutch with budget cuts on the last season of a show... smh

Alex

Nickelodeon did this show dirty from the start bruhh. Switching the air time from Fridays to Saturdays, moving it to online exclusively, book 3 and 4 premiering only months apart without any advertising, renewing the show every year, and budget cuts. The good thing about this was that in the end we got to see four villains each season from different nations and the end we had an amazing story. Esp Book 3.

Dimitri

Man the final fight for this book is wild af, I can't wait.

Owens Corning

nick suddenly cut their budget and they either had to make a recap episode using clips from the show or fire a bunch of staff members. so they made this

This wasn't even that bad. Ember Island players was definitely better. But the only "eh" part was the first section with the relationship stuff. The second part was touching showing the growth of korra that some people doesnt exist, and the last part was on stupid levels of funny

Denickart

Tbf I can only think of like 3 or 4 fights Aang actually won. Most of his fights ended with him flying away from the smoke.

Anonymous

Ugh damn I loved these reactions but now I reallt want that next episode cause shit turns up! (It always does but theres some special shit coming up) can't wait until Thursday!

Davon Thomas

Aang fought a giant evil spirit as well in the comics and won so he ended up fighting stronger foes after Ozai

I know some people are annoyed by this episode in particular and the kind of style, but it’s honestly not that bad and I enjoyed the episode to an extent, besides the whole love triangle from season 1. I love how they showed Korra, Asami, and Tenzin’s conversation as yes, Korra has had a lot of shortcomings within this series, but let us not forget the optimistic things that have been the product of that as well. That’s what I love about Korra’s journey because I look at it as a parallel of life. It’s no question that we will always have failures in our lifetime, some not so bad and some severe that we still hold on to those failures, which is basically what Korra is doing + the PTSD. But the important thing is to look at the bright side, as cliché as it is. Props to the creators for not turning their backs on their employees but thought to create this episode instead. Also, fuck Nickelodeon :) that is all

The Truth

I thought the Korra part was real nice, the music was great and I felt a deeper connection with Korra. And the The Zaheer on the phone part was hilarious. It’s an episode I wouldn’t skip. Like I do multiple ATLA episodes

Kelsey Roberts

He wins battles against Zuko, Azula, and Zhao, outright in episodes: 1x02, 1x06, 1x08, 1x15, 1x16, 1x17, 1x20, 2x01, 2x05, 2x06, 2x11, 2x13, 2x16, 2x17. He takes a lot of Ls in season 3, but that is because it's his book to learn about failure. But he ends it with a solid 1-2 punch on 3x20 and 3x21 to round out his battle with Ozai. Don't sleep on Aang unless you could throw hands at his level at age 12.

Hey so to be honest Kuvira isn't the worst out of this. I read the comic of what happened after the show dealing with Kuvira and her relationship with the beifongs, and Opal is horrible during all of that. Kuvira isn't the worst villain that we have seen. Does she fall off track yes. But non of this would have happened if Su would helped stabilize the earth kingdom herself, instead of hiding in her city.

MrNoor114

TBH I skipped this entire ep. lol.

None None

You're 100% correct about Asami. In an earlier draft of the script, she was a spy for the equalists (which is also why she has such a villainous-looking design). The writers just got attached to her and scrapped that plotline, but things like her "coincidentally" bumping into Mako out of nowhere and dating him still made it into the finished show.

Jay Q

The didn’t notice Korra blushing at Asami

D DuB

Brady coming in clutch with the soggy vagina. You need a wet wipe baby? I know you're still upset.

Rose

We can blame Nickelodeon for this episode. They slashed their budget. They made this episode instead of kuvira backstory episode so the crew could still have jobs

kadee

I hadn't noticed before that they put Bolin's face on Korra's giant body during her fight against Vatu. Also they added those wings on Jinora so they weren't there in the original scene.

Alissa

y'all should lowkey watch the avatar movie...the commentary would be hilarious lol that movie is ABYSMAL

Killjoy

wouldn't switching it to saturday's gather more views from kids

Silver

I heard this back story too when this episode first came out, but this is not an excuse. Why not skip a week/episode, and have fans wait longer for the true episode. It's a win-win. The staff can keep their jobs and we don't have to witness this recap garbage. Thank goodness new fans can skip this now that the series is complete.

kurumi Tokisaki

The mako relationship triangle was hilarious

CuteAdorableDog

yeah idk if anyone has said this but they had to make the clip show cause of a late budget cut it was either that or fire staff

Hoodlum JoeBro

Aaah yes. The avatar fandom, where if you choose Aang or Korra, you’ll be in a war in the comments lol

Hoodlum JoeBro

When the show was still airing, I think every single fan made an effort to watch it and support Bryke and the staff since they put out a statement just before the episode released. But on repeat viewings it’s definitely time to skip it lol

Senjioh

To be fair Ozai was pretty damn powerful and Aang beat him when he was still a kid, maybe Korra can pull her act together for the second half.

Eugene Conner

I remember when this episode came out and reading stories about the behind the scenes friction with Nickelodeon and budget. Not too long after this, the rest of the series was online only. It was frustrating.

Rufus May

Aang was losing against Ozai until he overcame the traumatic experience that was keeping him from using the Avatar state. He also lost a lot of fights against both benders and non-benders so I think you're not judging fairly. I think the main difference is that AtLA had a format where for most of the series a problem is introduced and resolved in the same episode; even when he or the team lost at first they would usually come back and win by the end of the episode (there are exceptions, like the end of Book 2). In LoK there is less time spent on individual stories/villains and more on the season-long story arc, so there are fewer 'wins' before the end of a season.

JDM2@

if i was suprised at anything, it may have been that it seemed like people were less willing to let her make mistakes than they were with Aang

Lightning Strike Fitness

I just wish we could've got more aang guiding korra like roku was with aang.

AbsurdToastling

Nickelodeon fucked with the crew during the production of Korra quite a bit, and this episode is the result of some of that fuckery. They were given an ultimatum that ultimately boiled down to laying off a good chunk of their crew before the finale or do a recap episode to meet some network requirement. They opted for the recap episode, and did the best they could with it.

Will Smyser .

Where as the Ember Island players didn't mind poking fun at any issues with with its own show (all the more fun for anyone who bothered to take a closer look at the show!). That last line of this episode "Don't over think it. It's just a mover..." is kind of AGAINST us as critics and deeper fans. "If you have anything negative you have to say about our sequel then instead of legitimate critique, don't over think it, just let it go... it's just a mover... I mean a kid's show."

Will Smyser .

Too bad this wasn't the Kuvira back story episode as intended. Tho I'll take Avatar chibi where I can get it too!

Cassandra

Definitely pure filler, but more entertaining than I've seen in other shows

Blaik-Elizabeth

I think the point of that line was that Verrick represented Nickelodeon as they were forced to make this episode and lose out on Kuvira's backstory, ultimately making her a weak and one-note Villain. The writers didn't want this episode, they wanted to go more indepth and make things make more sense with Kuvira and Nickelodeon basically said "It's a kids show, make the damn recap episode and fuck off onto our website, no one likes Korra Anyways"

Cori Curry

He curved that coochie for a DICKtator
