I feel the show has been hunting towards this. But it may be awhile because the more power you give to a character, the higher the scale threats you need for there to be a sense of danger. Look at other anime where the main character has power, there's rarely a feeling of danger. Re:Zero does good tho by keeping Subaru mostly just using his thinking skills to try as many people as possible. This show is truly an unthinkable present.
