I know I changed my stance again in the outro.......BUT IM CHANGING IT AGAIN LMAO. Basically we have parallel timelines being confirmed, so its not IMPOSSIBLE for Satella to be Emilia from one of these timelines 🤔Also.......this man Subaru did not even attempt to ask Satella relevant questions to his situation. WHY!? Stress on 100

How do we have parallel timelines confirmed? .-. I must've missed it because I don't remember Satella saying anything about it lol~

Reign

there aint not parallel timelines lol. Also satella thing is explained way more in depth in the novel I suggest watchin aninews review of the episode to fill in what you missed and the anime skipped because youd be less confused.

Xeno Warrior

She said that people grieve when Subaru dies, which is only possible if the worlds he dies in continue on. Thus making parallel timelines.

Cameron Hall

Satella looks like emillia. Obviously, they look like each other. Thats why Emillia hides her appearance. Also I'm fairly sure people said the witch of envy and satella are different people.

moist mage .

You guys should really watch the frozen bonds movie for re zero. It gives tons of context for emilia's backround.

Desto Samuels

Hmmm, I don't think the biggest questions of the show would remain plot holes? Alot of plot holes end up coming from minor things the questions you want answers too are the biggest questions of the show. So I am pretty positive that is considered in the writers thoughts. Most writers have the end of their story planned out prior to the anything else. In Game of Thrones case the show finished before the book, so the HBO took popcorn flick into mind and played it safe which in the end brought more plot holes than well constructed answers.

jesse almonte

You know, I feel like i can clear up alot of misunderstandings...but I feel like that might considered a spoiler? Eh its fine theyll get it eventually

losthope

You guys will definitely get a lot of answers in January when part two comes out 😂😂

Addy Cop

I agree man the story is great but this dude subaru never asks questions!!

XerBlade

I mean, first of all, SPOILERS, and second of all, that's not what they meant..........

Kurumi

lol Sheera thinking she got everything figured out but don't even realize we ain't even gotten to the real story yet

Cephandrius

Btw it felt like an awkward ending for the first cour because it wasn't supposed to end there

tacoloco

its not that even in the web novel he asks questions she just doesn't answer it. so why waste 2 mins of a anime episode for something not answered?

Tyler

The fact the Subaru never asks questions is definitely a top 3 problem I have with the show. It's like when he first met Echida and was like "Oh you're the witch of green who knows mad shit that I don't and need to know? Cool, peace out" Like WTF???? I can't take a lot of these interactions seriously because he doesn't ask the most basic and obvious questions. He should be asking Satella the basics like: how does she know him, why did he get taken from his home world, why does he mean so much to her. Sure she may not answer but if he doesn't ask these questions it completely takes me out of the show because who isn't going to ask that in this position?

tacoloco

its not that even in the web novel he asks questions she just doesn't answer it. so why waste 2 mins of a anime episode for something not answered?

Desto Samuels

Lol right, it's only part 1 of season 2, it's like AoT S3 P1 you'll get alot of the more answers closer to the end of P2.

Cephandrius

They might fill those holes in later because the stuff they skipped was massive id be surprised if they never brought it up in the anime

Anonymous

Are y’all gonna react 2020 Higurashi or the original for Halloween?

Anonymous

I don’t read the LN, but I’m sure we’ll get answers to everything by the end of the series. I mean you guys finished Attack on Titan recently in which we didn’t get answers about what’s really going on until the last few episodes of Season 3

XerBlade

Historically, the majority of plot holes in shows that have an actual, overarching plot are either a) just some vocal fans being stupid and not paying attention yet being so loud about it that they make everyone else buy into it (and goddamn are those situations annoying AF, literally no actual facts you can point out can convince anyone otherwise at that point), or b) fans jumping the gun when it turns out that the inconsistency they're whining about was actually a hint for a later reveal. Of course, there are also the "plot holes" which come from fans not understanding what those words mean. Not knowing something about the plot is NOT A PLOT HOLE. It is not a gap in the information you are given about the plot. It is an apparent contradiction between things you are shown or told about the plot. And contradictions are, by definition, impossible in reality. Although there is actually the most common form of ""plot hole"" I see all the time. A character doesn't behave in a logical manner, therefore """plot hole.""" Yeah, there's their counterexample right there, being so irrational that they somehow assume people naturally behave in a rational manner.

Robinson

All this nigga subaru knows is pain

tacoloco

its easy to forget but 4 episodes echidna told subaru that dieing in this dream world would leave him essentially braindead back in reality. so he took the choice out of this madness by suicide

Jev Cor

He did ask her btw, when she showed up he said what do you want, why did you do this but she ignored him and then he went into suicide mode. So..... yeah.

No0neAtAll

Now that Re:zero is on a break till the end of January I am going to recommend No Game No Life to fill it's spot as it only has 1 season it will line up with re:zeros return. Another option is Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious. the second one I am recommending only because of another show I hope you all react to called Iseki Quartet .Cautious Hero ties into that along with ReZero and Konosuba.

Anonymous

Witch of Sloth be like: Echo Act 3 three freeze

Danny

i think theyre planning to fill in with more episodes of code geass/slime. even if they do start a third show i think they mentioned they would start the third place winner of the last poll (either young justice or fate/zero). and honestly cautious hero was barley in isekai quartet lol idk why its even recommended. it was hilarious sure but if you want them to be prepared to wathc isekai quartet they gotta finish overlord which they held off for nearly a year and then go to tanya the evil. which i do hope they'd react to. also they need to watch the konosuba movie.

Faiz

Im just an anime only watcher for rezero but apparently they seems to cut a lot of content for some parts. I got this comment from a youtube comment so I don't take credit for it and here it is.

Alloway

I think it's still possible for Satella to come from an alternate timeline, but I don't think it's confirmed that he creates alternate timelines with his death, at least not to Subaru himself. As we saw after the second trial, that idea drove Subaru insane and he was only able to calm down once Echidna told him that she doesn't know if it's actually true. So if this was confirmed to Subaru in this scene then his reaction would've been insane devastation rather than looking confident and put together as he left the witch's place.

Faiz

Dialogue between Satella and Subaru that was cut: (spoiler) [Satella: I, love you. ――Because you gave me light. It was you who took me by the hand, and showed me the world outside. In the nights when I was lonely and afraid, you held my hand. And when I was all alone, you kissed me on the lips and told me that I wasn’t. You’ve given me so, so much. ……That’s why, I love you. Because you… you gave me everything] [Subaru: ――――] Subaru couldn’t recall doing a single thing that Satella had whispered. He had no part in it, it had nothing to do with him. Whether it was meeting Satella, trading words with her, or sharing a single feeling of warmth. Everything she said had been the product of her delusions. The arrayed, empty fantasies of a woman crazed with longing. That was how it should be. And yet, “Natsuki Subaru” remembered. [Subaru: Why is this…… inside me, what is this? I don’t want this feeling. Don’t try to bind me… with memories that can’t exist…… you… you… I…… tk] ~~~~ The other thing that was cut from the novel (just after Satella appears at the beginning of the episode: (spoiler) [Camilla: “Envy” is, everyone’s, enemy……that’s… right, but, that thing… and, her……are, different, you know?] [Subaru: ……what’s that supposed to mean? What’re you guys……] [Sekhmet: As long as we don’t know… which one that thing over there is, huu… it’s not just that we don’t want to… it’d also be unreasonable… haa…] [Subaru: Which… one……?] Sekhmet followed up with her explanation. But hearing it only threw Subaru into even further disarray. What on earth were they talking about? Yet, the answer came from a different direction. Taking a step forward, Minerva moved closer to the Witch of Envy. She spread out her arms, assuming a posture of nonresistance, and asked the Witch of Envy, [Minerva: ――Are you the Witch of Envy? Or are you Satella? Which?]

Drakuse

It wouldn’t be a rezero reaction with that unnecessary Subaru hate, Subaru did great and would do better than any of us if we were in his shoes

Alloway

I think Satella was just being metaphorical and re-iterating the fact that Subaru shouldn't think that his only value to people is death and that people actually care about his suffering.

None None

Do you realize just how big of a spoiler all that is if it turns out the anime didn't cut Satella's backstory and just moved it? Hell, I half-expect the next episode will just open with it as a stand-alone flashback.

Viela Guay

Yeah, people irl have like one family member die and will not be able to come into work that day. Man's had literally like a week between encountering Betalgeese and current.

Oui Oui

Lol the amount of stuff y'all got wrong is hilarious, especially Shera. He's still an apostle

FragZone

This is seriously starting to freak me out with how many of Roshi's dark jokes are coming true in the past few months of reactions lmao. Step aside Sheera, Roshi is the new fortune teller now lol

Drakuse

I do hope they read these even though it’s the last episode of the season. They can’t keep thinking they are right and forgetting shit, makes them think that what they are saying is right and just confuses them in the long run.

Thamor

I learned that Subaru did ask those questions, but she doesn't answer them. They could have adapted like 5-10 second long fast question spam from Subaru and reply from Satella "I can't tell you", even this amount would have given some credit to anime version of Subaru.

Dbhe

They unfortunately cut out a lot of the witches tea party. That said, there are still a lot of mysteries, even with Subaru trying to get answers.

Alex cleveland

Minor Spoiler NOT REALLY THO!!!!! I cant wait till we see the black serpent. I just finish watching Frozen Bonds. I can alr feel that the black serpent is gonna be the biggest problem of the 3. However, S2 been lit and Echidna def is my fav character in Re: Zero so far.😌🔥

Blue Minotaur1212

Let me correct a notion y’all have. Satella has never killed Subaru once. She grabbed him by the heart to make him shut up but she has never caused his death

Oscar Barcelo

Yo,‘I just caught this but didn’t in the first episode of season 1 show Subaru on the floor muttering I will save you to an injured Emilia? Do you think it is connected to the current witch?

Giovany

Guys, I might be wrong but I don't think Satella confirmed that there are other time lines after he dies, but that people just "grieve" right after his death when they see him, the mystery is what happens after that, like, does the world goes on or no? But I don't think that she confirmed, and if there are other time lines after he dies that makes the situation so aggravating, I mean, Imagine how everybody that likes and loves him feels. damn if there are other time lines that's just sad I hope there are no different time lines after he dies

Gav2Nice

im pretty sure satella can see into the futureim guessing subaru "saves" satella and that is why she has a deep love for him and why she brought him to their world, because if she can stop time and rewind time she cam prolly look forward into the future

Giovany

Yo, now with that being said i really want to read the light novel, you know what chapter should i start, i mean you know in which chapter is the witches tea party?

jac jacob israel

I feel like I should explain things but some other people are already doing it now it's up to you wether you want to understand or just ignore them

Jordan

At the end, I thought Otto was going to reveal himself to be a magical being that was going to give Subaru some kind of ultimate power-up... Before I learned that Subaru’s character revolve around being physically/magically weak; that his purpose is to rely on others for strength; I was disappointed by the ending.

MrNoor114

Watching a show like this I always wonder what would someone like Light Yagami or what Lelouch would do in Subaru's shoes lol.

Jev Cor

Then stop watching. Fuck these kids that want this to be SAO so bad.

Jev Cor

Probably the same thing, you like them because they get a power that gives them a massive advantage over everyone else. Subarus power is literally just a try again button. He's never going to be your fantasy boy to live vicariously through.

BERMY

we getting samurai champloo tomorrow then? :D

Jose Calvo

As I understand it Satella was alive 400 hundred years ago and Emilia is supposed to be the vessel for her reincarnation so I don't see how she can be the same person, besides Emilia is the one that looks like Satella not the other way around that's why the people of the kingdom have such prejudice against her.

Anonymous

"Thats how they are going to leave us untill January?" *laughs in 2016* LAST TIME THEY LEFT ME FOR FOUR YEARS!!!!

hokeypokey

I still don't think that the multiple timeline thing is an actual thing that exist, I think it was to show Subaru that the others care about him and that he should care more about himself. If those alternate time lines still existed it wouldn't really make sense cause the witches would still exist in those time lines but the witches also move with Subaru. Like when Satella takes over Emilia's body in one timeline, then Subaru dies, but Satella is in the next timeline with the same memories.

None None

This is just personal speculation, but I've always assumed there was some time loop bullshit going on with the Witch of Envy and Emilia, since we know damn well she has time travel powers (she gave them to Subaru). Maybe Subaru sacrificed himself and died for real to save her, Emilia went crazy, then became the Witch of Envy and did some convoluted time travel plan to stop Subaru from dying and creating her. That's why she's all like "this sacrifice shit needs to quit. Also kill me by not doing the thing that created me".

Lye Batenkaitos

You’re right she never confirmed it, people are just theorizing lol. But we do have an answer in the light novels around season 4

Anonymous

parallel timelines may or may not exist. The specific thing they showed in the 2nd trial was not real though. It was made with his memories just like the first trial where he meets his family. Parallel worlds so far have just been something that may or may not exist. tbh i agree he didnt ask questions but he was in shock with the whole meeting and is not thinking straight. Moreover, his priority rn is saving the others just like when he met echidna for the first time.

Tyler Hawke

I mean he did ask her in the beginning what did she want with him, multiple times over but the witch did not answer. all she did was repeat the same thing over & subaru knows dying in that world would leave him brain dead in the real world. at that point he just had enough and said fuck it & wanted to die for good.

Skebaba

Also the anime skipped an entire quote's worth of lines from Satella during this scene, where she describes the potential relationship between her and whoever she is overlaying w/ Subaru rn. It sounds quite intimate, based on the quote itself. Fucking studio ruins everything, just like they skipgang'd on my boi Al's backstory in S1E13, which has quite some heavy implications for the world as well as the story as well, once you know it. The contents of the quote are pretty much before she got sealed 400 years ago. The person in question is actually a person from the past whose name you have heard already in the series, so it's doubtful time travel boogaloo is involved, at least.

Adrian Jansen

i’m not sure why but they cut off a lot of dialogue from the novel, i think the most important thing is that (CAUTION I don’t consider this as spoilers but maybe others do) when the Witch of Envy appeared Minerva carefully went to her side and asked her a couple of questions, she did that in order to figure out who was the person in front of her, the Witch of Envy or Satella, then the other witches explained that the Witch of Envy was generated from the witch factor hold by Satella, some kind of double personality, so the girl Subaru met in this chapter (Satella) is not the same who appears when he tries to explain to others that he can return after he dies, but both Satella and the Witch of Envy share bodies.

Dune

Yeah that's definitely a spoiler lol but makes sense.

Dune

The only facts that we can establish are: -The witch of envy has time abilities. -Emilia and her are not the same person because when subaru tried to tell emilia about return by death the witch killed her instead. -There are two tomes that to some extent can tell the future of it's owner and the gospels are an attempt to replicate the tomes of wisdom. -Emilia definitely has some relation to the witch because she looks way too much like her. If we factor in time abilities emilia could be an alternate version of her maybe? Also I somewhat disagree with sheera saying echidna's contract takes your humanity or heart or whatever. With her telling subaru I'll guide you to best possible outcome regardless of sacrifices, I think eventually it would get to a point where subaru doesn't know what to do and would just accept any sacrifices to limit an ultimate bad outcome. That's why roswaal is so willing to do whatever takes to reach his goal which I don't think is clear yet?

Chris Hay

They did cut a chunk of content out.

sincity

I think what is going on is that you guys think Satella is fucking with subaru when none of the deaths are even because of her. All she's doing is reviving him. that's like drowning in the pool with a lifeguard saving you and saying "Wtf why you save me" the lifeguard didnt drown him the water did. This is why Minerva said hes ungrateful i think

Devin B

Even if none of the deaths are her fault she still dragged him from his world to be in this one with no explanation with a power that he can't even tell others about. To go along with your analogy, the lifeguard made him go in the pool even though he didn't have a choice in the matter.

Asl43n

Just throwing it out there the number 400 years was mentioned a lot of times this season and it feels like that is probably the most important timeframe where everything will be answered.

Asl43n

I don't know why but I kinda feel like Otto will be an important key figure because he always appears when Subaru has no options left and he pulls Subaru back up on his feet. It feels like he is not really who he appears to be

JsnSkg

Lmao how are the witches psychos? Like, I don't understand Subaru. "What's the deal with all of you?" No bro, what's the deal with you. A bunch of ppl are helping you, witches are actually being nice to you, and you act like they're monsters? I'm sorry, but that's just stupid af. Fuck off the vilifying shit already, jfc. Fuck off the narrow-minded mentality of witches just being "evil," or everything having to be either good or evil. Smfh. And he rejected Echidna, ofc she's gonna take the qualification away lmao. It's actually not her fault you decided to be a prick to her. He literally deserved to have that qualification taken away. If someone talked shit to me, and I had power, I'd be like, "Nah, I'm taking back anything nice I did for you. Fuck you and have a nice day."

Devin B

Not sure if that event is connected to the current witch or not but it just sounds like that Subaru felt the need to save her in that situation before he died

Antoine

The witches were only showing him the effects after his death how everyone felt not alternate Timelines..p.s More slime please

Friendly Elites

The witches are monsters, their logic is twisted and inhuman. Echidna offered her help to Subaru and was buttering him up these last 12 episodes so he'd be more inclined to accept her contract so she could use him as much as she wanted. And the rest of the witches are just as bad, all of them have their actions and logic all mixed up so they only produce negative consequences around them. The witches aren't outright evil but they are very far from being any semblance of good.

Marcus Martindale

The author likes to write fan alternative universes like one we’re him and ram run away and have a family so I think this should be fine to say. So for the contract with Ecidna he basically kills himself everytime something is slightly different to get every possible ending imaginable and then choose the best one. Someone did a character death chart for Re:Zero character and I think he dies like a million times or something crazy like that.

Bona Fide

I love hearing theories lol

Adrian Jansen

Regarding the contract with Echidona, i think that she will definitely help Subaru to reach the future he desires, but, due to her greedy, she will hold the best possible rute to the end and, in the process, she will learn new things from the events which occurred in the unsuccessfully scenarios, in other words, before reaching the successful rute, Subaru will die in every way possible.

Breezy

Is Attack on Titian considered shonon

Breezy

Is Sao a shonen

Deda

I just can never bring myself to read any of these thesis essay level comments on re zero reactions. Anyways, god I miss her I hope she's ok with her new guy </3

Julio Morales

🤣🤣🤣 "this stand is already broken" my boi....

cofaux

Satella's veil covering her face was subconsciously created from subaru's mind because he could not accept that she looks exactly like emilia

R3APER

Sao is a hybrid. It's like 70% isekai 30% every other genre.

Steel

in the LN Subaru actually asked Satella a lot more questions

Champion Bescos

Gotta love how they acknowledge Subaru as being broken or overwhelmed every so often (normally after a really traumatic event), but then immediately go right back to hating and mocking him whenever he does something they wouldn’t do or if he misses something that they - the audience - catches. Never mind that half of their takes are wrong or they just confuse themselves with misremembered information, and never mind that Subaru is a flawed, very much human character who nonetheless has grown in LEAPS and BOUNDS over the last season and a half. Lmao. I love these reactions, just calling them out that literally none of them would have made it past the first few deaths. Subaru is a resilient motherfucker and a slow learner, but he learns.

allmight_stan

Yeah but she did kill Emilia when he told her about return by death... which is why he can't tell anyone (except the witches and Roswaal- but those are basically his enemies?) and hence is getting more messed up by the day... And it's not like being grabbed by the heart is a soothing experience. True, her authority she gave him has been really helpful but it's not like he should just be cool with her the way they kind of showed it

Rustic Randy

I haven't read the LN. I don't intend to either. But my interpretation is that Satella and Emilia are both the same person and not the same person. Satella was sealed and not killed and her physical body was said to not decay. This was 400 yrs ago. Nothing has been stated as to where Satella's body is currently. And Emilia's background on where she came from hasn't been mentioned either. My theory is that Emilia is Satella's physical body that somehow developed a blank soul and personality. Like someone losing their memories. Amnesia style. We witnessed Satella's soul at the Witch's Tea Party. In order for Satella to be reborn, I think Emilia has to give in and fail the trials, losing her sense of mind, calling Satella back to her physical body. It may not be that simple, but I'm coming up with this theory as I type. Also, every time Emilia wakes up from the trial she is delusional and repeats, "No! That's not me!" I'm assuming the trail is forcing Emilia to confront her past. If my theory is correct, her past is when she(the physical body) was Satella 400 yrs ago and shit was crazy. Thus why the trial is really messing her up, because she doesn't see herself as Satella when she kinda actually is.

pachomius njolai

not to get in too much but I disagree with you. there are countless instances that Subaru doesn't act as a normal human would. I agree we are all flawed and would not handle that situation very well if put in that situation but across the board there are action where we would do similar stuff. but you have to admit in a lot of instances Subaru's action is for plot convenience and to push the narrative or story.its not realistic to me in the slightest, and I think that is my greatest issue with the series as a whole. For a series trying to show how humane Subaru is with his actions and taking a realistic approach in terms of human emotions i think it misses the mark IMO.i personally don't like Subaru as a character there is that as well lol.I don't want to start citing examples cuz i feel like people who love the series so much worship subaru so to say. would justify all of his action. he is flawed he is young but gudamn who doesn't ask questions.ex the first time he met echidna.lol i gave an example anyway that's the way I see it

Wallet

really my favourite character in this is the appa man, no body can beat his appa's

David

in the LN we do know where her body is and im pretty sure they mention it in season one as well. and we also know where Emilia is from there was a whole hour long OVA dedicated to it. as for Satella taking over Emilia's body we knew that could happen because Betelguess said she would be compatible for it, the same way Subaru is compatible with Betelguess. hate to say it but most of your theory is wrong based off what we know already

Bella Saylor

I know this is not related but you should react to dragon prince! It’s on Netflix! Has some voice actors from ATLA and the Writer from Avatar As well

Majin Bree

I think it's' kinda funny when people say "nobody else would've survived like Subaru" as if he (or anybody else) has a choice. No matter how tragic it is or how much he suffers, the overarching situation would still force anybody to continue. The only other choice you have is to sit around brain dead since you can't actually die.

Danny

well yeah after all that shit alot of ppl would just sit around brain dead since you can't actually die. or try to run away as far as possible since majority of this shit happened cuz of his association with the others.

kurumi Tokisaki

I felt the same way...the boss is there and you talk to everyone else. Bad writing.

Vartic

That was an awesome react series. You guys guess so many fact right I'm gonna start believing your speculations about Satella.

Ross Lerma

I thought she said that there was no death in the dream world but if his mind was broken it would remain so in the real world

Bob

Samurai Champloo?

Gand0rf

please watch the ovas!

Senpai

Maybe you should check the release date for Episode 14 and ask that question again.

Anonymous

Emelia can’t be satella bc satella is not dead

Tsunami Wave

I feel like Satella could actually be rewinding the current world infinitely as opposed to throwing him throguh parallel worlds in the same scenario. If for no other reason than how absolutely dark that prospect is lol. All those doomed worlds would make me hella sad.

Austin Yun

I actually think that's what she's doing. Anime-only at least there's a lot of rewinding imagery going on as opposed to some kind of parallel universe hopping.

AlmyJoyous

The creator of ReZero made a spinoff of what would have happened if Subaru took the deal. If the Light Novel of that is too long to read then (Spoiler): She would have made him Return By Death to create every type of scenario to have every type of knowledge to know how to get to the next "Checkpoint". Example: she would go to Roswall and asked him questions then die and try again ask him in different ways, die and try again ask him with Ram there, die and... etc.... etc.... Every path that you can imagine she will try, "hey would this cliff kill us?" Tries it out "I guess it did."

Ohais

With this episode, I feel like my theory that this is all in Subaru's head is confirmed. It's no secret that Subaru has depression. it was visible that he was depressed even in his life in the previous world. All throughout the series, the general progression of his character and the messages and themes presented are about self-love, self-worth, love, self-esteem, accepting one's own validity and feelings, etc. And especially everything said in this episode by the witches have been pushing Subaru to accept and value himself and acknowledge that people care for him. They were also pushing the message that death is the easy way out, which of course low self-esteem, guily, low moods, and suicidal thoughts are a common with depression. So, more than ever, I feel like the anime is an internal conflict of self-worth and existential crisis within Subaru

Braxton Brown

If Subaru took the witch of greed's deal, she would have had him die over 100 million times before he got the end she promised him. And by the end of it, he was entirely not him self, and made so many sacrifices in the end. The author has made several what if storylines on if he mad deals with each of the Witches.

KLC

nah I doubt it, this would be such a huge copout if this were the case.

Anonymous

Satella never meant for Subaru to use Return by Death the way he does. She gave it to him so that he could have a chance at a happy life. He's been abusing her power by his own choice. Satella isn't the one causing his suffering - it's himself.

Anonymous

the light novel is actually well written it's just the anime leaving some important information

D Reed

Why the fuck would you spoil some shit like that you retard?

Anonymous

A lot of this ties to Subaru's last convo with his mom just before he parted ways with her, he misinterpreted her advice as "as long the end result is good, then it doesnt matter how he gets there". Roswaal's thinking is a lot like Echidna's in that all you gotta focus on is the end result regardless of how you get there. That's why she even acknowledges that Subaru wanting the best possible outcome using the best possible ROUTE (without any sacrifices) was greedy. But Satella making him realize that he should include himself in the list of people to be saved adds a whole new meaning to what the best possible route even means

Anonymous

Finally caught up with the reaction videos and I'm a fan and all but tbh I dont see this becoming an easier watching experience for them anytime soon. Not everyone is gonna be able to justify or empathize with Subaru's character or his decisions but all that is just gonna build frustration. The audience is already meant to suffer with Subaru but imagine that PLUS the frustrations? It's just not a good time for anyone not comfortable with Subaru's character at this point lol. Tbh I'd straight up recommend just googling answers to your questions if you all would prefer to skip the frustration of "too much mystery" and just learn a summary of what happens next. It's a great story so it's worth doing that at least, but man people have to be comfortable with mistakes and a lot of questions/mystery to really enjoy this anime. If there's anything S1 shouldve already made clear, its that this story has a way of showing things can work out in the end despite how terrible and impossible everything looks, so at least we can bet on that and be patient.

Mahamed

Yeah I recommend watching re zero s2 cut content to answer your questions about the series. Understand everything makes the show much more enjoyable

Anonymous

100% agree. I found their lack of empathy in moments such as when Subaru was going to form a contract with Echidna, to be kinda surprising. To me, that scene was supposed to showcase Subaru's desire for a trusting relationship when it was being revealed that some characters we thought we knew ended up being completely different than the front they put up, such as Beatrice. Which made him cling to Echidna as though she were family, although deep down Subaru recognized that she may have had ulterior motives its just not something he wanted to accept. Anyways yea look it fucking 3am Roshi honestly love the amount of content on here, swear I've been watching your reactions more than actual fucking shows. Yea that's my life.

Wow, she sure as fuck likes to stick to her theories. Even if the next sentence proves the opposite she will repeat that shit starting with "yep" and attach it to her theory. The confidence is impressive considering she's been wrong more often than Subaru has fucking died

The irony of you calling the witches, the sanest people in the entire show, ‘crazy’ is pretty wild. Those who would be so audacious as to utter as simple a truth as ‘you need to love yourself,’ instantly marked as insane, Subaru himself calling them incomprehensible... says a lot about people, doesn’t it? Not sure if anyone has told you guys this, but you need to watch at least one of the movies. Memory snow is mostly just character development, but Frozen Bond is vital plot, and a prequel you can watch whenever to boot. Ideally you’d watch it before S2, since it makes it far more palatable, but before part 2 of S2 is perfect too. Even if you don’t react to it, you guys really need to watch it for context

So for Emilia being Satella at the moment the creator is sticking to that they just look alike and both happen to be half-elf’s. There’s to many things to disprove of the two being the same person, the only reason people think they are one in the same is because of that they look similar, time manipulation which is heavily implied, and that we just don’t know much about Satella other than what is in the show have stated or what we’ve seen to this point.

I just realized if the first trial was about coming to terms with your past, the second seems to be about the present and the final trial would that be about the future?

Taylor Moon

It's not established that there are multiple timelines its just one possible outcome. It could just as easily be time getting rewound

Up2Snuff

Keep up with the theories!!! That's why we watch reactions don't worry if it's wrong or right it will be answered. It's your first watch of the show and it's understandable that you're confused, but trust me we were confused too the first time we watched it. It took me a second rewatch and Chibireviews episode review reaction to understand because he has read the source material.

Up2Snuff

I recommend watching episode reviews after each episode from people who have read the novel. it helps to understand what just happened in the episode reviews. I watch the Chibi Reviews channel for that.

SpadeTheReaper

Fuck Ros and every other pretentious bitch that calls Subaru selfish or lacking resolve. These losers die once, at most, and have the nerve to tell someone that experience that Hell CONSTANTLY that his actions are wrong or unjustified? How can his actions be wrong if the whole point of restarting is to correct mistakes? How can he lack resolve if he always aims to fix the problem? How can he lack selflessness if his goal is to save everyone. A selfless act coming from a place of selfish desire is not selfish. You feed the hungry because you wish to mitigate your own guilt and feel good about helping others. Does that make helping others selfish? Bullshit. Anime loves to create stupid scenes like that and praise the characters that spew such nonsense as wise or more well-put-together. Really these are deluded fools who simply forgot how much they don't want to die and/or what it felt like to. But Subaru is selfish right? Let's see a single one of them accept the same curse and not fall apart just as often if not more. Ros is an asshole that only wishes to satisfy his own perception of what needs to happen, he has no resolve for anyone else. He is a petulant, bumptious, covetous, contemptuous charlatan. A blackgaurd justifying his actions with "I do it for the future" when ultimately, knowing of what Subaru does, his actions tend to directly oppose the one person who truly has. These types of eastern-stylized tropes make it so hard to enjoy anime. That ending just proves it. He is choosing to be "insane" rather than make any effort to regain moral clarity. He is a coward that prioritizes justifying his odious, execrable, flagitious behaviours with iniquitous, indefatigable obdurateness. Why? Oh because he is too far gone to be prudent and stable, that gives him perfect clarity into an undiluted sense of resolve right? The insane man will of course have perfect clarity to carry out responsibilities regarding a partially damaged and confused, yet highly virtuous, individual right? They only portray him as a villain due to the actions of violence he takes, not due to his reprehensible fidelity to a chimera of principle ethics, which is the biggest issue this show faces. The show itself evidently HATES Subaru
