Sheera i think you're giving Lelouch a bit too much credit and justifying all of his actions here. Both he and Suzaku are hypocrites. Lelouch is just accepting his role as the "villain" of these circumstances he is at fault for at least 90% of the events that are happening right now.

Last episode with Euphie got me thinking about how truly hopeless and awful Suzaku's perspective is. The peace he fights for is genocide by loss of culture and identity assimilation; Japanese people would cease to be who they are in exchange for still being discriminated against as they're labeled "honorary Brittanians." A very interesting point that's relevant even today.

Seriously, Lelouch didn't Geass Shirley to forget him. He Geassed her to forget everything painful--which was why she was suddenly cool with her father's death. While... it turns out literally his entire existence was painful to her at that moment. He miscalculated due to not understanding the uncertainties of human emotion, not due to some obvious logical error like directly telling her to forget him is.

theres only one movie that comes chronoligically after the series, BUT, the other "recap" movies actually change a handful of key things in the story so theyre worth checking out too.

War: So basically.... Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is chronologically set between Season 1 and 2 of code geass (but you should watch it AFTER season 2 is done cause watching the Akito arc sort of spoils the experience of season 2. Then, there is 3 recap movies that REMAKE the first 2 seasons (this is not necessary, cause it only makes 1 change to the show, so just ask someone what change it is) And then there is a 4th movie which happens after the end of season 2+ the changes made in the recap films.

thank you. as a lelouch fan, as much as i loved him and his character, it's still important to point out that lelouch's actions are not always "good" or "right". He literally killed thousands of japanese here alone (i believe the zone contained around 20,000 japanese) god knows if even half of them survived the massacre. even if he didnt intend for this happened, it doesnt excuse anything. you can say "oh its necessary because Britannian kills japanese too" but does that make it right? the whole point was being different from Britannian no? Why would you copy the ones you want to rebel against. Lelouch's actions weren't even for the japanese people. hes not as cold hearted as his royal siblings towards the commoners, but he still wouldnt give two shits about the japanese if it came down to them or nunnally. he would sacrifice another thousand if it meant it will save her. plus his main goal is to destroy britannia. saving japan is just another result of his initial goal. he really aint a saint but he accepts responsibilty for his actions, which is why me personally, I enjoyed his character more than suzaku who kept preaching about right or wrong when its almost impossible to say who is "justice".

but thats exactly why hes not a hypocrite. He understands his actions and takes responsibility. Suzaku is never even honest with himself and has accomplished nothing for the Japanese. What Lelouch did was an accident that he had to take advantage of. Suzaku has always chosen to deny himself and how his actions will do nothing.

Being self aware that you're a hypocrite doesn't absolve the fact that you're still a hypocrite. It just shows Lelouch is mature enough to admit that about himself. His hypocrisy is in his ideal of "the ends justify the means" but he doesn't really use any means necessary as pointed out by C2 usually when it comes to choices about those close to him. He spouts out words of reform and justice for the Japanese when inside Lelouch doesn't really care, it's just a pretence/bonus for his revenge against Britannia and Nunnally's happiness. Suzaku's no better he's just under a dogpile of trauma with his ideals keeping him a step away from going insane and offing himself in guilt.

Lelouch is a hypocrite though. That's why he told Suzaku he's not there to argue about who is the biggest hypocrite. He's not there to be Japan's savior. He is a hypocrite because he's supposedly fighting for Japan when in reality he is using the Japanese as his tools in order to combat Britannia and make a safer place for Nunnally. Yes, there are Japanese he cares for, but a million Japanese or more doesn't equate to Nunnally's safety. That's what is top priority. Suzaku is different and obviously gains more hate because he's not an honorary Britainnian or soldier in order to change that nation from the inside, he wants to die to repent for killing his father. He's only trying to save himself, not his people.

Honestly dude at some point it doesn't matter. Man deserves to be pestered he can't keep any of the deadlines he sets for himself and has been missing them for like three months. Not everyone has discord and he has so little care for the deadlines his missing that he doesn't bother to update his patreon when he misses them. I can see why though since at this point his patreon wall would be filled with more updates about missed deadlines than the videos themselves.
