naa

is there a lelouch version of the "griffith did nothing wrong" meme? cause sheera would definitely be one of those people lmao

Angelo Marchantt
>>83920194

Schneizel did aproved the whole area before euphemia anounced it. Also lelouch agreed at the end that it was a good idea soooo i guess it's your opiniok against zero's. H literally surrendered to euphemia before the whole geass accident happened

Justin Neason

Idk, this show... Like, I know it's supposedly one of the best but ngl, the fact that such a turn of events came from him just speaking a meme is kinda upsetting. Like really, who jokes like that in the first place, if this wasn't spoiled for me a longgg time ago i'd probably be rage quitting.. But that's just me tho

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

Poor Euphie a gentle soul though naieve a good person in a family of lowlifes. To be remembered for being a maniac who made the highest kill count of Japanese in one event.

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

I really like Lelouch and Suzaku's back and forth here. Suzaku wanted to find something to live for thinking death was his only way for atonement, then finds it in Euphie. But losing her he takes a page from Lelouch's book and Lelouch makes no excuse. He fully takes responsibility for Suzaku's anger and acknowledges his fault for it all hurting just as much him.

Ben Barringer

Why does Sheera say Lelouch is half Japanese? His mom was britanian (white), a commoner by blood, but not japanese or anything. The royal family is way too racist for that. The reason lelouch and nunally are in japan is that they were sent as political prisoners, used as bargaining chips in the war between britania and japan. Obviously, daddy boy tossed them in the trash right away and now we got us an Area 11.

>>49204874

I get what ur saying but he was saying it because it was so absurd, he was trying to explain to euphy that he could give anyone any order no matter how bizzare or outrageous.

2Ker
>>49204874

Yeah he was just making a very exaggerated point because he knew that would the one thing she wouldn't do but his Geass could still make her do it.

2Ker
>>49205706

True, I don't know where she got that, especially when she's called Marianne. Not a very japanese name.

Kurumi

damn yall didn't catch the name of the person C2 was talking too? toughhhh

Jason Lupas

Sheera Lelouch is a full blooded Brit just fyi

Jason Lupas
>>49204874

Honestly This show is still in my top 10 for sure ,but its flawed in many ways . i still dont understand how Mao can survive a hail of bullets but euphy died of one gunshot wound .

Amberyl
>>49204874

He was literally giving her examples of outrageous orders he could give her if he chose to use his power because she didn't believe him. It was hinted right at the beginning of that episode that something was happening to his Geass and soon enough it became just like Mao's right in that moment. Telling her he could order her to bend down and touch her toes wouldn't be enough.

Mahmii
>>49205974

What do you mean? They did. Unless you’re referring to who the name belongs to

Kurumi
>>49205974

yea i'm talking about who it belongs to seems like they've forgotten

Danny

I am on the side of Lelouch 99% of the time but when sheera said that Euphemia shouldn't have announced the special zone and that also led up to this massacre, that's completely untrue. This massacre alone is pretty much 99.99% Lelouch's fault. He was responsible for the order, intentional or unintentional, his carelessness got ahead of him. You can say, blame the geass but that's like saying blame a bomb if a person decides to play with it and accidently set it off. Weapons aren't the blame, it's the person who wields them. Euphy's plan tbh is short sighted and may or may not have worked in the long run. The japanese would def be freed to a certain degree but who knows how long that would be or how much rights they would actually be given. But for someone like her, there's no way she would join the Black Knights and start a war against her own family and nation. It was the best plan someone like her or on the Britannian's side could propose. Can't blame her for at least trying to get rid of racism that's pretty much her nation's policy. Throwing her inheritance away as well just to help others (although I don't know if that was a smart move, if she's no longer a princess, I would think she would have no power to hold up this administrated zone but I suppose it's bcuz Schneizel backed up her plan). So Euphy's plan is not as terrible as others would point out as it doesn't involve war or fighting. It's definitely not completely perfect but we can only speculate, no one can actually see the future.

Jason Lupas

Just want to point out . I believe This is the first time Suzaku Actually wanted to kill his enemies on the battlefield without remorse . If you look at the past episodes he doest really kill anyone I think everyone he fought escaped by ejecting from their knightmare

Big Daddy Dre
>>49205408

If you talking about how she just blamed eurphy for that massacre then i agree with you 😂😕

Mahmii
>>49205974

Oh okay, then yeah. It's alright. Code Geass is a lot sometimes. Marianne can wait

XerBlade

BTW, I was just thinking back and realized I never mentioned anything back when they were still making jokes about Britannia being America... Britannia is, just as it sounds, Britain. ...Technically... You see, in this world's history, the US lost the Revolutionary War, never gained independence, and remained a colony of the British Empire. However, at one point shit happened and they got kicked out of British Isles by Napoleon and the royals escaped to the American colonies and reestablished the Holy Britannian Empire there.

FragZone

Once again, Roshi is way more emotional about his PS5 order being delayed than over a sad and tender moment like the death of Euphy here lmao.

Runner Up

Ya'll have great reactions but not declaring the zone is probably the worst take I've ever seen lol. The zone was the first step towards proper rights for the Japanese people.

Runner Up

Also the irony in them chanting Zero when her pulse reaches that :(

Jev Cor
>>49208249

Nah, first step to placating and further institutionalizing. This is like saying reserves were a great step for native americans, Your take is the bad one chief.

XerBlade
>>49207431

Oh, and by the way, the multiverse is a canon thing in Code Geass. The movies are a parallel universe to the series (with some major differences, unlike most similar cases where anime movie versions are just a summary of the series, and the Resurrection movie is actually a sequel to those movies, not to this series), as well as all of the various manga series. A personal favorite of mine, Nightmare of Nunnally, even explores the multiverse concept directly.

Deshawn Smith

I usually agree with Sheera's comments but not this time...

XerBlade

Ah, by the way, we left off on this cliffhanger for 4 months. FOUR MONTHS BEFORE EPISODE 24! That was a break just for the finale of THIS SEASON, not an actual between-season break. All you people getting into this series more recently don't know how good you've got it.

XerBlade
>>49207645

I get emotional even over poorly-written "sad and tender" death scenes. I can basically never get through one without crying. But I've never gotten emotional over that specific death scene. That was not a well-done death scene by any stretch of the imagination. It was poorly directed, poorly written... it was awful down to a conceptual level. Luckily there was a course correction for the big death scene in the middle of season 2. Which pretty much definitely has to do with that episode being written and directed by different people from this one.

Runner Up
>>49208249

I was referring to what they specifically said in the video, which was the declaration of the zone leading to the massacre. Which is a pretty bad take. The Geass going out of control imo is to blame, not the declaration of the zone lmao

Mason Griff

As others have mentioned, Lelouch is not at all Japanese. Just want to make that clear. Earlier in the first few episodes, they said Lelouch's mom was a "commoner" not that she was Japanese. He is a full blooded Britanian.

aesopf

#GETCLAPPED cuz Suzaku still doesn't know that Zero is Lelouch

Max Murillo

That affected AF "Hold dis geasssss" made me crack

Quelz

I think Roshi and the rest of the crew are failing to realize that although Euphy did initially come up with the idea of the Special Zone, it was Prince Schneizel that actually approved it and brought it to fruition. Euphy was just the face of it because she was seen a an innocent princess that the people of Japan could trust. It was all Schneizel’s doing and he gave her permission to announce it at the festival.

Kurumi
>>49208249

its really not a bad take.. no matter how you look at it the zone was a bad idea simply because Schneizel is the one who authorized it. Euphy got played and was just a pretty face to make the Elevens accept the idea. In reality if there was no massacre then the special zone would've simply become a large prison for the Elevens.. nothing would've changed they still would've had no rights. This was an easy way to gather all the sheep into the pen which is why Schneizel approved it.. Not to mention we've seen the britanians massacre Elevens on a small scale already.. If you really think a massacre would'nt have a occured sooner or later than your more naive than Euphy

razgrizraven

It still hurts that Euphy had gotten Geass'd and killed.

razgrizraven

Also, it's hilarious that Lupa made that comparison to Naruto because Yuri (Suzaku's English VA) voices Sasuke.

Runner Up
>>49208249

I'm not saying a massacre wouldn't have happened sooner or later, I'm just saying in this case it's more so the Geass going out of control rather than the declaration of the zone. Could there have been a massacre later? Maybe, probably imo. But I don't think the blame should fall on Euphy for this incident. She's definitely naive and got played, but I don't think the blame should fall on her. But I can see where you're coming from and I definitely agree with you on some points

Devin B
>>49208249

At the end of the day, Euphy did what she thought was right and even Lelouch was willing to help her out with her ambitions but it was unfortunate that his Geass had to get out of control. Even though the idea initially pissed off a bunch of people it still wasn't her fault for the massacre.

Amberyl
>>49227985

And Schneizel approved of it because he knew this would ruin the Black Knights. Lelouch never won against him when they were younger and he's fully aware of what her plan would've brought about. If this plan was crap in his eyes, it never would've happened.

Kristian Thaler

What I find even more heartbreaking than Euphy's death is the fact that the only thing she will ever be remembered for is a genocide that wasn't her fault.

Umbra_Nex

what?!? Wait... wait... I dont understand... usually I love the reactions here... but Sheera... HOW can you honestly think any of this is because Euphy wanted to set up the special zone??? She wasnt that high up in power... she literally was doing the only thing she could to try and do SOMETHING right for the Japanese people... hell, she even had to give up her standing as a princess in order to get this much! she was not to blame AT ALL for the slaughter... hell, she is the only person that has even been able to resist the geass as much as she did! She actually fought it for a short while before being taken over by it, and then she fought it again before she died (so she didnt try to kill suzaku). I wasnt gonna bother with commenting on this, but you have just been harping on Euphy's creation of the special zone as being somehow a reason that the slaughter happened that I couldnt take it anymore xD Lelouch losing control of the geass was the SOLE reason for this. I wouldnt blame lelouch either, as it wasnt something he meant to do and he didnt expect to lose control like that. It was just a tragedy created by the worst possible timing for his geass to go out of control... but even then, I would understand if you wanted to blame Lelouch a little (since he is super smart and he had hints that a geass could become to powerful leading up to this)... but I just cant understand how you can put any of the blame on Euphy at all... she is one of the few people with any level of power (in the Britannian government) that is actively trying to make things right in this show!

allmight_stan

Oh my gosh what an episode. Like I feel literal emotional pain, I'm with Lupa this is just f-ed all over, on both sides. What happened with Euphemia is the most tragic thing ever. No one but Lelouch is responsible for this, mistake or not, it's still his geass. Even if her declaration made things tough for Lelouch, she had literally no ill-intent whatsoever. She was just trying to bring about a change for the sake of the Japanese and for Lelouch, even if her brother and other family members were probably exploiting her goodwill. I hate and like this plot because it feels way too harsh of an outcome for Lelouch and Euphy but I respect the writers having enough courage to show exactly how wrong things can go and demonstrate exactly why Lelouch should have no choice but to throw away his emotions, completely.

billy
>>49382054

yeah, sheera always tries too hard in trying to "analyse" things and sometimes gets them wrong, get over it.

billy

remember these words said by someone: "this geass I do solemnly accept"

JsnSkg
>>49415345

Right, like the past couple episodes gave me such intense mixed feelings. And one can only imagine the emotions going on deep in Lelouch's soul right now. Emotions that he's pushing down and away. Emotions: Notice us. Feel us. Lelouch: I know... I know... but gtfo. Please, just gtfo. Emotions: But.... but.... Geass: OUT. NOW.

Narutofreak94

If y'all watch the movies there's a treat of an ending.

CRuEL_WOrlD

I actually feel rlly bad for Euphy. Shes was too stupid nd innocent for this world.

Reign
>>49808417

the movies changing the canon pissed me off so i wouldnt watch them but is the ending worth it?

earthphoenix7068

Sheera might have accidentally confirmed Lelouch was half Japanese even though Roshi said that a while ago as an assumption. It looked like she said that because Euphemia shot at Lelouch, but last episode she acknowledged that Euphemia shot her subordinate since he was defending the Japanese.

Alellion

Man I see the argument of "why would you even joke about/say that in the first place?!?!" in regards to Lelouche's command to Euphy. The WHOLE point of that portion of their conversation was that he was giving the most outlandish example he could think of to Euphy specifically in order to demonstrate the capability of the Geass to her. I don't mind the argument of people saying that it's too much plot convenience for his Geass to go out of control at that exact conversation (though i'd argue that's not really true - based on all the foreshadowing as well as a retaliation of his hubris which Roshi even brings up the past couple episodes), but asking why he would use that as an example just baffles me.

Festx
>>57707060

I agree, the last episode I responded as to why this scenario was probably one of the best for devlopment and progression. Lmk what you think

Unstablebeast

No....no lelouch meant he actually loved euphie, not just in a family way

Dark God 9

Notice how Lelouch says "Destruction is needed before reconstruction"? That's a direct parallel, if not derivative of Beerus's line: "Before creation comes destruction." So the writers have been watching Dragon Ball?

hokeypokey

"Had she not declared this zone none of this would have happened" Lol what how you gonna blame Euphy when the zone was actually looking like a good plan and the only reason shit went the way it did is because of Lelouch

Hello
>>49382054

Though, in the grand scheme of things, what she was doing wouldn't completely help especially without a proper plan, lelouch was just about to work with her and was probably gonna turn her sorta plan into a full blown one. Basically he was gonna add his brains with her hope and actually potentially accomplish something. but geass just HAD to malfunction at THAT TIME. This was out of everyone's control even lelouch cause no matter how smart and how he analyzes his ability, he could have never guessed when it would malfunction. That was purely up to chance aka plot.

Crismel Mejía Jiménez
>>83920194

Even if what lelouch did, didn't happen, there was going to be problems with that area. Or do you seriously think that the second prince was going to accept that euphy plan just like that? The commander who was with Clovis earlier said that they finally had a bunch of rats together, it's obvious that they were going to do something bad in that area.

Tijay Carroll
>>83920194

um last ep she showed him the plan and told her could create it. edit and after she ordered the killings his face showed genuine horror at what was happening
