I haven’t read the manga I’m anime only just like YaBoyRoshi. But watching their reaction, I just realized Zeke secret... Colt said “you’re like the Founding Titan but you don’t have royal blood” Zeke is half royalty. He’s mom is Diana Fritz. (This info already revealed in Season 3 lol) But Zeke changed the subject with that “How to Wipe my ass” joke lol. So Colt and the other Warriors and Marleyans Generals don’t know of Zeke mother’s lineage

That is a very good observation, though I think it would be better to say that he is just royalty and not half royalty due to his mother (full royalty would imply both his parents have royal blood which would be crazy, wouldn't it?)... just as Historia is royalty due to her father

As a manga reader, I was always more shocked at the way Zeke was acting than shadows in the background...seems like some of ya’ll are intentionally zeroing in on more spoiler stuff when theres other stuff to talk about happening out in the open.

@The comment about being "hella animated right now": They used rotoscoping in this episode for a few scenes, including the one at the docks and the one with Gabi at the dinner table. It's the same technique of animation that they used in Demon Slayer Episode 19, and it's very expensive to do, which is why you don't see it in anime often.

Yeah he mentions the whole gang. First he mentions Sasha with the potato story from season 1, Connie being “the idiot who forgot why he went to the bathroom”, Jean being an “insincere selfish jerk”, Marco “caring what people thought of him,” and the “single minded guy charging ahead and people following him” is Eren/Mikasa/Armin.

How do y'all know that the paradise squad are there? The marleyan officials said they had been sending ships to paradise and none of them returned. They (at least both eren and armin) would still need to be on that island for them to be able to capture and prevent full battleships for escaping.

I don't think Reiner's mom actually believes the Eldians on Paradis are terrible people, she just knows the repercussions people face if they don't go along with the brainwashing narrative imposed on them in the Marleyan society. That's why she closed the shutters and window, because she didn't want anybody hearing the conversation. She then told Gabi that because she doesn't want her to get killed questioning the narrative. The Eldians in Marley are just trying to survive by any means necessary.

I think someone in the comments said that the person at the end of ep 1 was someone that they knew so they assume that that person is someone from the gang and that more than one person from Paradis is scouting Marley.

The symbolism in that scene though. The windows busting open to show the storm as Reiner reveals the truth that the island devils are people just like them. Just a glimpse into his head. To Reiner that was hell getting to know and befriend the Paradis crew. Aside from needing to believe the brainwashing (or they'll be killed), the Eldian people in Marley just need someone to blame to cope with their situation. Rather than blaming the Marleyans, they'd rather blame the "island devils."

Lupa "Clapped in the comments". We don't know at this point where Eren and the rest are, and in 3 years they have been demolishing all the ships send to Paradis. So if they have gone to Marley it's just this same year as Marley won the war.

I'm a manga reader, but something that I only noticed while watching this episode is how the scene of them all returning from war mirrors the scene in the first episode of season one where the survey corps returns from an expedition outside the walls. Except, in keeping with everything else, it's a happy scene on the mainland while it's nothing but death and sadness on Paradis. Similar to how Gabi is a mirror of Eren, but she starts out wanting to wipe out the Eldians on Paradis instead of the titans.

I was definitely out here thinking those eldians are enslaved but really they've just been brainwashed and integrated thinking it's a wonderful thing to die for marley. Like you think everything is somewhat ok but then flashback to grisha and his sister being beat and killed respectively for just wandering off too far. The whole situation is definitely fucked and it's crazy how both the eldians on paradis and the eldians with marley have both been brainwashed to some extent.

The Eldians on Marley have been taught to hate their people for 100 years, hard to blame them when it's impossible for them to know about what's happening on Paradis. Not all of it is false either, while the people on Paradis are not evil or bad people, it's true that king did abandon all of the other Eldians and subjected them to generations of abuse by Marley, they do have a right to be angry. Reiner is one of the few characters who's seen both sides and you can see his degenerating mental state because of it, sometimes ignorance is a bliss.

It's really nice to see more people feel for Reiner in this season cause he really does go through it. Now we're seeing where he's coming from and how the other side is really like. I'm glad you guys are picking up on these things. It only gets crazier from here. Also I don't know if you noticed it being mentioned, but Colt had asked Zeke why he seemed to be special and that it wasn't as if he was royalty right? Remember what was revealed in season 3 about Zeke and his origins. That's his secret.
