In a world that has literal hellspawn, witches, necromancers and vampires just hanging around, I think there should actually be more randomly competent nobodies. Those guards at the port should've held up more of a fight. Like the guardsmen at the town with the corrupted priory.

All of the humans who interact with Isaac are literally written with negative IQ. It's just not good writing. They keep trying to hammer in this idea that no one treats Isaac with any kindness or respect, but they've honestly gone too far and it's basically comical at this point. And the writers can't have a single line of dialogue without including the word fuck. It's cringe. And then there are the anachronisms where you get lines like "I keep repeating the same thing over and over again. Isn't that the definition of insanity?" Which is something only a person straight out of 2015 would say. The show is littered with lines like that. These characters aren't 2020 millennials. Stop writing them that way.

The Captain and that seer that gave him the mirror aren't low IQ and show him kindness and some form of enlightenment. The humans that prove his theory right are like city guard, people you would expect to want to fight and not listen, they are literally trained to do that.

I think you're forgetting that these people DO have negative IQ. Humans in this era don't know shit and can't do anything right, literally to save their lives. You complain about the anachronisms, but you yourself don't seem to realize that the plot began because a bunch of people burned a woman for having beakers. Because they're too fucking dumb to know what glass blowing is. Which is historically accurate itself, and not an anachronism, because people were like that. Worse, even. They would randomly say someone was a practitioner of dark magic or witchcraft and just kill them on the spot, they didn't even need advanced science or any kind of evidence whatsoever. People were dumb as hell and many still are. Complaining about the anachronisms in the dialogue is also just dumb. Straight up stupid. Makes you sound like the one with negative IQ. If this were historically accurate dialogue, they would be speaking an extremely outdated version of a language you don't even know. Not to mention it's a complete work of fiction, not even historical fiction, so you couldn't possibly know what sayings or idioms they would even have. Because this period in time never actually existed at all. It's written so that people now can enjoy it. They could have written the most bland dialogue in ye olde English as well, who the hell wants to hear that? I want to watch a modern show based on a cool video game, not listen to Shakespearean dialogue for 4 seasons. If you want to hear a bunch of "thee" and "thou," go watch Hamlet instead. Problem solved.
