Watching the 3rd movie it's understandable it's a reaction from trauma. He was open to changing things up then he bumps into Silver. His own abusive sensei that brainwashed and terrorized him, and ended up betraying Miyagi, so doubling don on Miyagi Do makes sense.

I get why Daniel was acting the way he was though. I have said through out watching that he was still effected by everything from TKK3 that happened because Silver really fucked with him, and he blamed himself for it, and especially betraying Miyagi. So it made sense to me when seeing Silver the man who traumatized and yes tortured [sorry Silver buddy you did] him as a teen popping back up... It makes sense he'd double down on Miyagi Do.

I think a lot of you are missing a key factor though. Daniel runs around scolding EVERYONE acting like he is a perfect saint and everyone should live by his/Myagi code; Johnny fucks up but never tries to act superior or elite, and when he gives life lessons he usually admits to how fucked up he was/is and why others should do better than him, Daniel just acts like he can do no wrong.

In these American karate tournaments the participants always have the most jankest flea market China made battle ready bullshit katanas 😂 They need to completely axe sword skills from Karate and leave it for Iaido or Battodo. I mean even in season 2... When Daniel took Robby in Should he have told Johnny? I think so, but I get why he didn't with Kreese back. But no criticism of why it took Johnny so long to check up on his child? And he only checked up on him when Kreese instructed him to because he should be training with him and not Daniel. Also Johnny insults Daniel's style all the time for basically not being "manly" enough. Also while I do think Daniel has his flaws I wouldn't say he was being a prick here just regressed from learning Johnny's style after he ran into Silver.

That first interaction Daniel had with Robbie wasn’t about telling the others the secrets of Miyagi-Do it was just him literally asking him why are you with Cobra Kai when you’ve been on the other side of the toxicity. He was trying to say Robbie may not like him or Johnny but joining Kreese and winning the competition out of spite is not gonna prove anything or make him happy at the end of the day. watching it a second time, the cheating is obvious. when devon and tory are fighting tory scores a point when devon was out of bounds so it shouldnt have counted. then when tory and sam are fighting sam got a point when tory was out of bounds but the ref called "no point out of bounds". not saying devon would have won but she would have lasted longer and had a chance. sam would have 100% won. like did you see what our girl did? all the anime, kung fu, shang chi, street fighter stuff ever and tory just doing the bare minimum and she wins? chile boo
