I think that is the case but I think it's also because of what the priest was saying cause even if he can't understand what he's saying he can tell that the priest is directing his voice to him so maybe he could tell from the tone of voice that it was something serious and then he sensed the demon.

I think hyakkimaru's voice returned because the demon took another part of him, his leg, so maybe that's why it returned as a compensation?

That was a harsh reality there meeting her for the first time and her washing her crotch ( IF that was what she was doing ). No condoms in those times so STD is hella high risk and the concept of an STD didn't even exist to them. And it's a miracle all those kids are alive. I doubt a demon would exchange like that, but I won't shoot that theory down entirely. I did think it was weird Hyakkimaru suddenly has a voice because I'm sure everyone assumed that was taken, but maybe it wasn't? He didn't cry as a baby, but if he had a voice maybe he couldn't cry because there was nothing to cry to or for. His entire body was void of everything at the time so he was just silent about it.

actually if he was just deaf, he would still be able to make sound since deaf people can still produce sound because they still have their vocal cords or something. Plus I know he just recently experienced pain since even his nerves was taken, but he didnt shout in pain last episode when he first felt which he should have shouted or made a sound since the feeling is new to him. He also didnt make a sound during the first part of this episode even though he is in pain from being able to hear. I am still sticking to my theory that when the demon took his leg, it automatically returned his voice. Maybe a demon can only take one part from him. Just like how the other demons only took specific parts.

The part when they pretty much explained her job (10:15) , Lupa was the only one paying attention which is usually the opposite. They actually gave a lot of other context this episode as well: Her night job, Dororo wanting to help and lookin up to her providing for orphans, Her conversation with the kid explaining she is 'working" for the enemy this time, her covering up 'after' Dororo told her that he sees gross colors in ghouls. Doesnt matter really, as long as you figure it out and enjoy it, then its cool.

As Century and Thomas said, they aren't really reneging on anything, you can even see in the first episode, moment mud demon dead, landslide started happening because there's no one to stop it anymore cuz well, they are dead... considering all of them been keeping their deal since they all took a piece of him... only thing they couldnt take was his life which was prevented by the Mother Statue
